Excellent little shopping complex. Revamped since I was a kid living in Santa Cruz. If I lived there again I'd shop there all the time!

Highlights: Aptos Cinema: This is the best movie theatre in the Santa Cruz area. Although it's small, it is never crowded which means that you never have to worry about your favorite movie being sold out. The theaters are never crowded so you can enjoy your movie in peace and always get a decent seat to watch from. There is always plenty of parking so you don't have to worry about arrived way before you movie starts. Erik's Deli: It's hard to see from the parking lot, but it's there. It's never crowded and the service is really fast so this is a great place to grab lunch. Safeway: Although I hate pretty much all Safeways, this is one of the best I've ever been to. It was recently remodeled and they did a really good job with the renovation. Although you still aren't going to find high quality produce or meat products here, the place is large enough where you can get anything else you need.

Safeway 's lights are on all night their light infects us as we try to sleep in the near by neighborhood . Its hard to see the stars or do any celestial astronomy even because of them I wonder how a bigger one will effect our nights turning them into day almost I was wondering did they ever ask the people of Aptos what they wanted ?Do We Need A bigger Safe Way ? It Might be Aptos Is Going to have it's quaintness taken away and turned into a corporate manifest .A lot of our small businesses will be gone which is an outrage they have already own our friendly neighborhood gas station, liquor store and now our wonderful kitchen the Wind Jammer Cafe is out we no longer have that to eat at they also added their own star bucks coffee inside with no regard to the one that's just next door to them . I spoke to some of the businesses that are going to be pushed out and they stated they would be the first to hold signs in front of SAFE WAY Will Work For Food .What was even more Ludicrous is the cutting of the 2000 year old perfectly sound Cypress tree the concrete bunker foundation put in, right across the street that jokingly added a lot of charm to Aptos Ha Ha cold and sterile is not my favorite architecture. I'm for petitioning against plan any Others ? I used to love to go to the wind jammer restaurant and eat big breakfast's it was sad that they could not renew their lease from SAFEWAY .Have you noticed as well that one day the price is stated and the next its a lot more with a sign that says new low price ?during the summer months when our fruit is in season they have apricots for 299 lb when the produce stand in Moss Landing has them for . 69 per lb . try to look at the starts at night but can't because Safeway Has the sky lit up like a candle Not to mention their ruby red gas sign as soon as you get off the freeway its blinding at night I can 't hardly see anything else after I look at it its so bright .

Becks Shoes 4105 Portola Drive Santa Cruz. The new location is great and accessible from 41st avenue and is in the corner of 41 st Ave and Portola Drive. There is parking in the back and the front of the store is off of Portola Drive. Addison the sales clerk is very knowledgeable and very easy to work with. Not a pushy salesman! He provided his knowledge and patience and helped me select the appropriate superfeet orthotics for my feet to give me comfort and stability to my tennis shoes! He also suggested a certain type of tennis shoe that can provide stability for pronation and supination. He did not push me in buying these new stability tennis shoes. But he actually found some good superfeet insoles for my condition and and stability and comfort for my existing tennis shoes. In the future I will look into buying new tennis shoes that he recommended that I can fit my new superfeet orthotics and provide more stability and comfort! I greatly appreciate his help and easygoing manner and would recommend you stop by the new Becks Shoes store at the above mentioned location. Thank you, Alberto Barba

We walked in here to find food. Unfortunately, the food court only had five different places only two to choose from for food. Unfortunately, the Ramen place was a no go for us. The Taqueria Gabrielle was super good and they do a great job at how much food they put together in their food and prices are well meaning french fries meat, etc. The service was really great at the Taqueria Gabriel they do have a coffee shop here called the daily grind coffee I have to say my favorite place to see here was the bookstore. If you love books definitely drop by. It is huge. It is so nice. You could get lost in there. I really hope the community comes together and makes this place a great place that it can be for all the teenagers and young parents to come and bring their kids and go shopping . Don't forget to check out the thrift store if you're around as well ! Lots of parking and they have tons of bus stops so you're able to come with public transportation and or have plenty of places to park

After reading previous review reviews, I was a little apprehensive, walking in knowing what many others had experienced with their customer service. I will say when I walked in there was somebody who promptly greeted me and my husband, when we walked in and made some small talk. As we peruse the store, I did experience a little of what other people were saying as the employee seemed to keep popping up to chat with us as we per the store. I can understand why some customers may think that it may come off as the employees are watching you while you shop. I don't think that was what was happening at all. I think they were trying to definitely just be more friendly and welcoming, but I think they do need to tone down how many times they pop up while you are walking around the store. All of the items they have to offer are a fabulous quality and definitely a great spot to pick up gifts for others. When I'm in the area, I will definitely pop in and shop again.

The price point is expensive but expected at a small boutique store such as this. I could spent hours in here looking at all of the different items. My friend was coming in to exchange an item or swap it out for another item. After shopping around and finding another jacket that she liked we inspected the jacket because it was white and we wanted to make sure it was free of damage. We came across black marks on all of these white jackets and brought it up to an employee at the front. They attempted to clean it with a paper towel and maybe water? But unfortunately no luck. They mentioned that she could try to clear it with upholstery cleaner after she purchased it but at the price point of over $100 my friend decided to pass. She ended up returning her item and receiving store credit. The reason for my 3/5 rating is due to the expensive clothing being stained and the awkward exchange. Overall, I would come back and give this place a chance when in need of a unique gift.
