The owners provided fire wood and had recently purchased a hot tub so we were the first ones to use it (yesssss!). We went with a group so half stayed upstairs while we stayed downstairs. The cabins are separated so I was a bit of a drag walking up a hill to visit friends but also nice to keep our privacy. The cabins are far from the main house so we were able to play music without being overly cautious. The only downfall was the driveway up. It consists of those white rocks so you have to rev your engine to go up the hill toward the cabin without getting stuck (which happened to our friend). All in all, this was a great experience and was only a 20 minute drive to Hocking Hills State Park, a must see. Jerry and Wendy are excellent hosts!

The outcome was that we needed a special extermination treatment at a cost of $2000, a new box and matres set of $1500 and had to discard some apparel. along with all the grief, inconvenience and aggravation. We called again to see if their insurance would cover it and it went on def ears. A little google research indicated that Athens Ohio is infested with bed bugs - unbeknown to us at the time but quite sure the locals are aware of it, let along the hospitality inns. My advice is, STAY AWAY FROM THERE!

The reason for me giving 3 stars is that the photos posted by the owners are quite deceptive regarding the distance from a busy highway. As you can see from my photos, CO-19 is approximately 30 feet from the cabin. Without the TV on, you can hear constant traffic even with the door closed. Trying to sit on the porch to relax was impossible because the road is so loud. The cabin is basically as pictured on the website, very homey and comfortable, and the other 3 cabins are far enough from Luna's to allow for privacy. We would have definitely had a wonderful, romantic honeymoon weekend if it hadn't been for the constant noise.

The water was so bad that it ended up turning all our sterling jewelry orange, and that was bad considering we only bathed twice. :O With all the water treatment options available now and with what you had installed downstairs for water treatment it was too bad about our jewelry and the odor. Hope our jewelry can be fixed! No hand towel rings. There are several places to mount a towel holder by the bathroom sink. Also.... no place to set your toiletry supply bag. Hard for the ladies especially. Lack of dinnerware. Only 2 ceramic dinner sized plates and the rest were tin. Really? Dollar Tree has some really nice ceramic plates for $1 each. Light bulb out on ceiling fan and the whole place is dim so you need all the light you can get. Kitchen would REALLY benefit from light strips under the cabinets. No light at all in shower. Could hardly see to bathe! Also need a lighted vent fan in bathroom. No sponge or kitchen dishrag of any kind to hand wash dishes. Need at least a sponge there and more than just one dish towel. The place was nice enough but not $200 a night nice. Honestly.... this was the most expensive cabin we have stayed in and the least nice, and we have stayed in many cabins. Hopefully you will at least consider our comments to make some improvements. And being that we never received any kind of response from several emails to Doug AND to our comments per above when sent to him, wont be staying here ever again.

There's a large pool in the center of the hotel so you can go for a swim just 10 feet outside your hotel room if you want. The town of Logan itself is also very close to a lot of nearby parks and hiking, which the hotel provides lots of information on. There was a....unusually large list of rules and terms to agree to when checking in, but ultimately it wasn't anything too concerning and mostly common sense things. The rooms themselves were alright, kind of small and not super swanky but still clean, comfortable and very reasonably priced. There's a little "soft background noise" speaker in each room which defaults to soft beach waves which is a nice touch. If you like supporting local businesses, need a reasonably priced dog-friendly hotel or both I'd recommend here.

It was perfect, had a view of the lake and was right near the bar restaurant. It was very convenient having 2 bathrooms. The main bedrooms bathroom was newly re done, the other rooms seemed older but worked fine. There's dish cable tv and wifi. I was told there were charcoal grills for use and when I arrived they didn't seem to know anything about it which was odd. However we found grills for use next to the playground near the lodge. The story book trail is great for a nice hike with little ones. My husband enjoyed the disc golf course. I wish on the website they clarified that if you want to swim in the lake you have to drive to the swimming beach, but it wasn't too far. There's boating and hunting and fishing as well. Food at the restaurant is over priced but you pay for convenience since there's nothing close by to eat. There's fire pits with a nice view of the lake, and fire wood to purchase if you didn't bring your own. The rooms have a microwave and mini fridge. Overall we have a very nice time and I'd definitely come back.

If you must, the way to go is order a pizza to go and pick it up when it is ready. The pros: beautiful view over the water, great at sun down. The cons: the food took way too long to come out. They forgot to bring the soup and salad we order before the meal, and by the time they went to get my soup, they had run out of that kind! See attached photos and video of the fish. Sad to say both my wife and I ordered that same meal. When it finally did come out the fish was so deeply fried that it was rock hard and there was not much remanence of any kind of fish meat left to be scavenged. Not even a forest dwelling mongrel would have gone for this disastrous preparation. I asked the waitress if it was supposed to be like this and she said "yes". (looking back that is a pretty funny answer) I told her that we were not going to be able to eat the meal. I mean even if we wanted to, it really wasn't food at this point. Is there anything she could do for us? After going to the back and having a discussion with her manger, she came back and said she could provide 30% off of each fish meal..... that is so close to doing nothing. And it wasn't just us. A grill (2 actually but we only used the one in the patio) a heated splash pool the kids loved. Four bedrooms plus a loft with a pull out couch. Perfect for a married couple and 3 kids. I've attached some pics that I think captures the essence of this jewel. The house was clean with lots of extras. The plunge pool is like an oversized hot tub that's over five feet deep. The staff was very attentive and met our every need. We decided to buy two robes since we forgot ours. We texted the office and they delivered them within minutes. The robes were top of the line bath robes that kept us warm on cool nights after soaking in the hot tub. Best robe i've ever owned. We ordered the Italian Night dinner which was in the refrigerator when we arrived with heating instructions. It was a delicious lasagna with a tossed salad and Tiramisu for dessert. Best Tiramisu i've ever had. Wish we had ordered other meals. We loved the outdoor fireplace with a TV under a covered area adjacent to the plunge pool. We made and ate s'mores while watching tv in front of roaring fire. We have stayed in many high end resorts and this retreat was the best we've ever stayed at. It's also a good value. The kitchen was closed our entire stay so we weren't able to order food here. We liked the cornhole which was next to our cabin. Another note is that the WiFi is absolutely terrible and will drop your devices constantly and only operates at 2G. The driveway up to the KOA also is super hard on your vehicle. This campground was close enough to hikes at Hocking Hills but we probably wouldn't stay ever again.

The location is a little tricky to navigate at first, particularly figuring out the parking since it sits near an unusual three-way intersection, but we got ourselves situated and went in for coffee. Unfortunately, the coffee itself was a pretty big disappointment. We ordered two relatively straightforward flavored lattes. I believe mine was supposed to be toasted coconut or something similar, but there was virtually no flavor to it at all. In fact, the coffee itself just wasn't particularly good. They were somewhat busy when we visited, and I certainly understand that places can have an off day. However, considering the prices they charge, I expected a much better cup of coffee. Neither of us felt that what we received justified the price. I always hate leaving a negative review based on a single visit, especially when a place came recommended, but based on our experience, I wouldn't recommend Hocking Hills Inn & Coffee Emporium for coffee. It was unfortunately one of the more disappointing stops of our trip.
