The mansion is located walking distance from town. It has been very well restored and has many period pieces and decor. My wife and I have stayed in many places like this but I have to say...this place has something special. That is mostly due to Connie the owner. As soon as you book the reservation you get a huge email laying out what to expect at the mansion including directions and what to expect. The email then goes in and tells about the town and its MANY attractions and history and how to contact those business. Once we arrived, a note in the door said to "call Connie once you arrive and are ready to check in...LOL'! We thought this was great and gave it a very "homey" atmosphere. Connie also owns a bar/saloon in town called The Silver Queen, which has been featured on Ghost Adventures and is worth a trip there in its own merit and that is where she was when we arrived. She basically said...walk in the side door, go straight ahead and turn right and the door to your room is right there with the key in it. Let me know if you need anything else...LOL. We thought that was just the best! The rooms were very clean and comfortable and had AC, TV, Keurig coffee maker, private bath, and ours had a patio outside. We took a self guided tour around the house, as no one was there, and fell in love with the place. The big thing that sets it apart from any other place that we have been is the fact that the owner, Connie, is the one who literally cook you a three course gourmet breakfast every morning! Her meals were spectacular and the hospitality and conversation was amazing. She has lived they for 61 years and could answer pretty much and question you had and had a hilarious and interesting story to tell about whatever you wanted to know I was well! We met some great couples at breakfast and we are SURE to be back in the future. This mansion and the city, which exceeded all expectations as well, will definitely in regular rotation on our many adventures every year. You will NOT be disappointed when you stay here!

Virginia city is one of those unique places that you can't really comprehend until you visit- it's so charming and old world and makes me feel nostalgic for a time I never lived in. The silver queen has been quiet and empty every time I've been there (always early afternoon on visits from nearby Genoa. The bartenders are always friendly and lovely. I love the smell of history in this town and the silver queen is so full of that. There are antique oddities and treasures everywhere you turn. The silver queen herself stands watch over the bar/lounge area. Drinks are stiff but pricy which is to be expected in a destination town like this. I love stopping in here for a cocktail and bathroom break while I'm exploring Virginia City because I always find new things to look at every time I come. Bathrooms are micro mini but they're clean. She also acted as a Day of Coordinator and worked with the DJ and photographer to ensure the day ran smoothly. Judit helped us set up the day before the wedding. She met with us several times throughout the year to ensure we had no further questions. Typically, Day of Event planners can cost thousands and this is a special, and crucial perk that is included in the cost of the wedding. While hiding before the ceremony, Judit brought me and my bridesmaids a glass of champagne while we waited behind a curtain to walk down the aisle which was just so sweet and thoughtful. Judit truly has a heart of gold and genuinely wanted my Husband and I to have an elegant yet affordable wedding. I cannot believe this Venue is not booked YEARS in advanced. The price is unbeatable and the views are breathtaking. I love the modern aesthetic which made for timeless photos. It rained most of our wedding day and the views and ambience was still stunning. Our guests LOVED the food. We chose chicken and steak. The appetizers were also a crowd favorite. Once again, the price was very reasonable and they had many options of food to choose from. I had to put my 91 year old friend in a room here tonight due to the evacuation of the hawk fire…read more When I called a lady named Courtney answered and she gave us a great rate due to the emergency and she let us come in early without any fees and she was able to accommodate us by staying on the first floor and close to the exit for the dog. The room was clean and well stocked up! Courtney personally walked us to the room and made sure my friend was all set. Courtney went above and beyond. She deserves a high raise!!!!!!

I have been charged for a day I did not stay despite cancelling it on 6/30/26 at 7am for the July…read more2, date, well before the 48hrs deadline. After sleeping here 1 night, I knew I did not want to stay the additional date. Keep in mind, I added the additional date when I checked in on 6/29/26. At that time, I was told by the manager, Ravi Thiara that I could cancel it if I chose not to stay as long as it was 48 hrs. notice. On the 2nd night, while trying to run a bath, the water shut off completely. The shower handle was open all the way and the water just stopped! I was not able to take a bath. Called the front desk on my cell phone (no phone in the room). The front desk told me "That happens when a lot of people shower at the same time" and the clerk hung up. They did not offer to send maintenance up and did not make any suggestions for a resolution whatsoever. The road/highway noise is very load. Windows are not insulated. You will not get any sleep here. They do not provide daily room service, and only offer fresh towels and toilet paper upon request. Most importantly, they charge a "transient tax" at a rate of 11% per day. This was not disclosed to me when I booked the room directly by phone. I found out about this tax after I had already stayed one day. My rate was $15.24 per day. During my stay, I asked the front desk clerks if I can speak to the manager, and I also called the front desk several times and left messages for the manager. The clerks told me I could not speak to him, and that they are only allowed to email the manager or leave post it notes on his door. This tells me he lives on site, but is not accessible to his staff or to customers for that matter. To date, the manager has not returned my messages or calls and never addressed my concerns. I have filed a fraud investigation with my bank. I am also contacting the Nevada Attorney General for fraud. I was only supposed to pay $561.33 for 3 nights with Pet Fee. They charged my debt card $881.64 the day before I checked out for 4 nights with pet fee. I took pictures when I checkout in case this manager tried to say my miniature dachshund caused damage.

The food, which is one of the most important thing to my crew, was just not up to what we're used to at say Holiday Inn Expresses. I decided to move over here to the Staybridge Suites. The food is decent here, plus they have a free happy hour Mon - Wed with beer and wine included! Can't beat that! Every room has a full kitchen, electric stove, full sized fridge and even a dishwasher and all the glasses and dishes you need. It's really set up for extended stays, but we're just here one night. This is a pretty new hotel, so everything is mostly new and shiny. Service from the staff was just fine, and breakfast was a whole lot better than that last Hilton place we stayed. Everything worked on the rooms and no weird stray hairs that weren't my color. Wifi work well, and that's the most important thing.

Extremely disappointing experience…read more We arrived with a confirmed reservation and were given a key to a room that was ALREADY OCCUPIED. We actually opened the door and walked into someone else's room, where their personal belongings were inside. This is not only uncomfortable and unacceptable, but also a serious privacy and security concern. If we were able to enter another guest's room, how are guests supposed to feel confident that someone else won't be given access to theirs? We immediately returned to the front desk and informed the staff. We are STILL sitting here waiting while they try to find us another room, despite having a confirmed reservation. After traveling and arriving at a hotel expecting to simply check in and rest, this is the last situation anyone should have to deal with. We also asked what could be done regarding the inconvenience and were told that because we booked through Booking.com, they could not do anything for us. Mistakes can happen, but giving guests access to an occupied room and then leaving them waiting without a room is a serious issue. Very disappointing experience and definitely not the level of service or security I expected from Staybridge Suites.
