I usually try to stay in "affiliated" campgrounds whenever possible because they have to maintain a certain level of professionalism and caring for their service. Other times I go on line and try to get reservations in places that show up well in their web sites. This is not always satisfying, as there are many web sites that are much nicer than their actual grounds. This has happened to me a few times as I'm sure it has happened to you if you spend any amount of time traveling, I can say without fear of contradiction that this campground is a "diamond in the rough." It is in a pretty spot and managed by a fellow who absolutely goes out of his way to ensure that this campground and the folks who stay here are more than happy that they came here. Rick is the manager and he is nothing short of OUTSTANDING in the way he does his job. To be perfectly honest, there are not enough stars for me to light up when it comes to rating this campground. If you are fortunate to find yourself rv-ing in this incredibly beautiful part of our country, then try to get a spot here. I am certain that you will be more than pleased.

Very kid and dog friendly! The bathhouse is brand new, so lovely, and is the cleanest bathhouse I've ever been in at an RV park. The owners are some of the kindest people we've met in NC, super accommodating, ensured we liked our spot, and set up a picnic table and fire pit for us to use at the site. Truly the best Campground we've ever stayed at. I highly recommend staying here, whether for a night, a week, or for a long term!!!

Views of beautiful tall trees…read more The sites are very spacious on large gravel surrounded by green grass that run all along the creek where you can dip your feet in, throw in a line, observe the Ducks and Blue Heron or just listen to the serene sound of the water. It also is a short drive to many activities should you choose. A short drive to the quaint town of Murphy for vintage shopping, wine tasting, brewery and plenty of places to grab a bite. We highly recommend the fried pickles at Chevelle's! Owners, Jon and Eileen are so welcoming and always available if needed. New bathroom/showers will be finished by Spring 2024. We love to stay at a site on the creek so the kids can play in the creek and the adults can sit on the bank and watch. The kids also love the playground, mini golf and riding their bikes. My in-laws have rented one of the cabins twice. The cabins are like a tiny home. Very cute and clean. Bald Mountain's location is so close to lots of hiking, waterfalls, a lake, tubing, basically a ton of outdoor activities close by.

Long Ridge is a very well run camp ground with wonderful bathrooms and showers. They have spots for tent and electric and water van hook ups so they cater to all manner of camping. And while they advertise two night minimums online, if you call a person they'll let you stay for one night. Our neighbor smoked cigars and had slow R&B music playing till about 9pm and then it was quiet. We able to get a fire started fairly easily at our site. There was a pond with fish in it for catch and release only. No other amenities. The night was quiet and got down to the low 50s and I slept well enough to function the next day. All in all a great time here.

The Bathrooms are 7/10. The Staff are Very Friendly. I will 100% come Back Next Fall!
