I usually try to stay in "affiliated" campgrounds whenever possible because they have to maintain a certain level of professionalism and caring for their service. Other times I go on line and try to get reservations in places that show up well in their web sites. This is not always satisfying, as there are many web sites that are much nicer than their actual grounds. This has happened to me a few times as I'm sure it has happened to you if you spend any amount of time traveling, I can say without fear of contradiction that this campground is a "diamond in the rough." It is in a pretty spot and managed by a fellow who absolutely goes out of his way to ensure that this campground and the folks who stay here are more than happy that they came here. Rick is the manager and he is nothing short of OUTSTANDING in the way he does his job. To be perfectly honest, there are not enough stars for me to light up when it comes to rating this campground. If you are fortunate to find yourself rv-ing in this incredibly beautiful part of our country, then try to get a spot here. I am certain that you will be more than pleased.

Everyone was super friendly and almost all of the campers stopped to talk to us as they went about the park walking their dogs, going for a stroll, or visiting the ponds and walking trail. We felt very welcome and our pets were very welcome, too. Every campsite had at least one pet, if not two. I highly recommend Deer Springs if you want a campground that is a quiet, relaxing spot. Take a jacket - it gets cooler at night (elevation is over 3400') than the surrounding area.

We are a small park with a focus on providing large sites in a comfortable and unique setting. Several of the larger sites will accommodate four guests, but unless otherwise noted, each site is limited to two adults and a maximum of two pets. Our park has been designed for "self contained RV's", and as such, there is no separate bath house on site. Each site has sewer, water, 30/50 amp services, picnic table, fire ring and a private gazebo. Each gazebo has a refrigerator with ice maker, preparation counter and sink with running water.

They have gorgeous spots right on the river and I could hear the river as I slept and it was so soothing!! The owners are wonderful people and really want campers to enjoy every aspect of their stay. They came out when we came in to help us back camper in our spot. It's very close to town like 5 min drive but felt out in country. Our spot had a picnic table and fire pit. They have a pretty good size bath house with vending machines and at as use washers and dryers which would be good for long stays! Shower stalls were individual bathrooms for privacy .. updated and very clean. We came before Halloween and it had decor for the holiday.. you could stay in camper, they had cabins, and tepees for unique stay. Most were damaged by storm but will be ready for following year. I thought that was really interesting.. i read reviews from previous years about wifi being terrible but we didn't have that issue. We didn't really spend all day at campground we came to see and spend time in the area so we were only using wifi at night and in morning with coffee. I would highly recommend this campground.. it was a great stay and I hated to leave.

It seems pretty evenly divided between available rental spaces and spaces that are privately owned - many of the privately owned spaces are landscaped and hardscaped. In addition, there are cabins available to rent (this seems unusual to me, but perhaps normal for RV parks?) From my observations on the day we visited, the park was clean and very well maintained - grass and shrubs neatly trimmed. The park has good amenities, including swimming pools and a fitness center...there's also a fairly large clubhouse available to use for special events, but as we didn't go in, I can't speak to the facilities or condition of interior. River Vista is dog friendly, and has an off-leash space for the puppers to play. The location of the park is it's biggest asset - right in the north Georgia mountains so the scenery is beautiful. It's only a few minutes from Dillard, so it's convenient to some local shopping, grocery stores and restaurants. The family members we visited have stayed here multiple times and rate it as one of their favorite places to stay.

Playground and outdoor games for the kids with smooth asphalt roads for bike riding. If you need it, there is plenty of shopping nearby within just a short drive. Relax, you can go fishing or wading in the creek, it is cold, but refreshing. Feed an apple or carrot to the horses. Throw bread to the chickens and goats. Watch the garden grow, we planted May 1st this year, should pick July 1 to August 30th. If you are here we love to share, tomatoes, beans, zucchini, corn just to name a few. Make a friend, we have several seasonal campers that love to sit on their porch and become your new friend. Watch the ducks swim on the pond.
