i do have good experience with this place. i don't have healthy teeth. lots of maintenance to do. they work with my insurance plan and make sure let me know if my insurance is covered or not. before proceed the actions. sometimes i just can't afford it, my dentist will find some alternative treatment as well. from making appointment, greeting at the front area, and the actual dental work, i don't find any problems, actually i felt well treated. and lots of the time, i think it is communications, and they doctors and assistants there are trying very hard to make the patients feel comfortable while doing their professional work. One time when i have very bad pain, and my dentist is on holiday. i first seen a dentist, she tried to stop the pain and recommended me to see a specialist. but the pain was not stopping in a couple of days so i called them, they took me back right away and my dentist was still on holiday so I got to see Dr. Spencer who is also very experienced. my infection was so bad due to a bad dental work back home before i moved here. and Dr Spencer made extra effort to get my infection treated instead just stop the pain with pain killers. i am really grateful for his work. And this time i had two lose crown before i am head for a holiday. they took me right away and fixed my problem. and Dr Linton spent extra time give me different suggestion on how to fix the problem that i have permanently. i do appreciate that so much. because when it comes to dental work, we are not professional and it can be so expensive, but they give us different options that we can do, the cons and pros too so we can make better judgement. and more to add, the admin ladies there are so helpful and professional too. and once they have all my insurance info in the system, i don't have to deal with my insurance company ever. they did it all. i really like that part. thank you for all the staff working there. and i really have no relationship with this office. just a patient with good experience there. read more

I'm a new patient at Deer Valley Dental Care and my experience has been awesome! From the massage chairs in the lobby to the tv's on the ceiling above the chairs and the friendly care of the hygienists to the excellent benefit and financial information, I felt right at home here. I recently had some fillings done and a week after, one tooth (where the filling was really deep) got infected and ended up needing a root canal. The "emergency" service is incredible. The dentist who did my fillings was on vacation but I went in to see another dentist right away. I was a little apprehensive about the root canal but I now feel silly about being so worried. I has some laughing gas and slept through the majority of the procedure. And the small (and short lived) amount of pain after the root canal was nothing compared to the pain I had before. I've read a few negative reviews about benefits and credit card charges. I totally understand people's frustration, but it is really our own responsibility to ask the questions, get the information and know our own benefits. Before I had my fillings done, they submitted the cost to my insurance and right away showed me exactly what I would have to pay. And if a cost was dependent on something (like the amount of laughing gas used for my root canal) they estimated the cost from the most I would need. So if there were any change to the estimate, it would be less, not more. My benefits didn't cover the whole cost of my root canal but I was able to set up a payment plan that works with my budget. It's not cool to be overcharged but if you have any concern about the cost, you just need to be upfront about it. They aren't trying to rip people off but if you don't tell them your concern in advance, how are they supposed to know? And they were very understanding. A colleague of mine suggested I try Deer Valley Dental after she had some work done and had nothing but good things to say. I have now been a patient there for the past two years and have had really good experiences. The staff are friendly and professional. I have had root canals, crowns and cavities filled and have had very positive experiences. I find that the procedure is explained to me as well as after care. I have a lot of anxiety going to the dentist and found the other dentists judgmental and didn't bother to really explain the procedure. Dr. Lam is the dentist that my colleague recommended I go to and I'm so happy she told me about him because he is an awesome dentist. I need lots of freezing when getting procedures done and he does a great job making sure that you're not in any pain. He asks and checks with you to make sure you are frozen enough and if not he will add more freezing to ensure you are comfortable with the procedure. I find the assistant who works with Dr.Lam is super friendly as well and takes time to make sure you're comfortable. I live on the other side of the city but I'm willing to drive to Deer Valley Dental because of the awesome service and dental work they have done for me. I also like how at the end of the treatment a clerk sits down with you to explain what your insurance plan covers and the breakdown of what you pay. At the other dentists I have been to I have not been explained the breakdown of the claim. I think Deer Valley Dental does a good job ensuring patients know where the charges are coming from. I have an intense fear of getting dental work done and have avoided seeing a dentist for years. Consequently I now need a tooth extracted and plenty more dental work done. As soon as I entered Deer Valley Dental some of my fears were relieved from the friendly receptionist. I was taken in for my emergency appointment and I explained to the dentist how scared I was. She was very compassionate towards my fears and didn't even put any tools in my mouth. After reviewing my x-rays she explained to me that my teeth were in bad shape and I needed a tooth to be removed and various other dental procedures. After my appointment I was lead to the finances team who took the time to explain how much my procedures I need will cost and are more then happy to make a payment plan with me. As a full time college student, I was very grateful. Now I am booked to get my tooth out and will be making another appointment to get some of my other dental work done under sedation. I am very pleased and look forward to the day in the near future to see the outcome of my teeth! Thank you Deer Valley Dental for not only seeing me so quick and removing my problem tooth so quickly but giving me the confidence and assurance to proceed with my other dental work. Deer valley dental is by far one of the best dentistry offices I've been to. I have had pretty poor and painful attempts at dentistry in the past at other establishments...from a filling when not frozen to a root canal not frozen. And the ever chatty people trying conversation, when you have a face full of sharp and pointy things. Not to mention, their hand. From my first visit here a couple years ago all the way to last night, the doctors and nurses and even the accounting staff have been very nice and accommodating. I was told the order of operations for the work being done. (Very important when you are jumpy and just don't like people putting their hands in your mouth...) To the nurses who want to make the experience as comfortable as possible.(blankets and the TV remote... Just need a cold one...) The accounting girls are polite and even ask if you want your billing info kept for future visits, pretty convenient, in case of emergency. Sure some things that are not covered can seem to be pricey, however, with the amount of cash we spend on silly stuff(smokes, beer, toys, etc...) Why shirk at the bill for good health? Keep up the good work. Thank you for taking away my absolute fear and loathing of a trip to the dentist. read more

I have always had a rough time at the dentist. So much that I avoided going for a couple of years. I knew that it was only going to make it worse, but I just couldn't bring myself to go back - it was always so painful! Then I saw an advertisement for Deer Valley Dental Care. It looked modern, very nice, it had great hours and a pile of dentists. I knew I had to get my teeth cleaned, so I booked an appointment and got up the nerve to go. I was so glad that I did! I explained to the hygienist that I had sensitive teeth and was very nervous about a cleaning. She said it was no problem and I could have freezing done. The dentist froze my mouth and I hardly felt the needle because they even numbed the area first with a gel. It was the most pleasant cleaning experience I have ever had! They did it in stages over several visits and it was actually a relaxing experience! I just watched TV while the hygienist cleaned my teeth. Now when I go back I don't even need freezing anymore, and I no longer dread going to the dentist. The waiting area is great: TV's, iPads, massage chairs. The staff is fantastic. They are super friendly and very helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this team of dentists and their staff. read more

I went to Dear Valley Dental Care to have a mouth guard made as I recently started playing hockey. I had tried the store-bought, "mold it yourself" ones, but they were really bulky and uncomfortable. I thought I would have to spend a ton of money to get one that was custom fit, but then I saw that Deer Valley Dental Care offered ones that were affordable. I made an appointment and was able to get in really quickly. They also had a really quick turnaround time so that I could get my mouth guard before my next game. One of the things I hate most about the dentist is getting impressions done - I always feel like I'm going to suffocate and panic a bit. The lady (Trudi) who did my impression had me feeling really relaxed and distracted me through the process and it was over before I knew it! She plays sports, too, so I felt like she understood where I was coming from - she even offered to match the mouth guard to my team colors. The staff was positive and friendly and the office was gorgeous - they even have massage chairs in the waiting room! I was really impressed. It also didn't have that "dentist" smell, which was nice. This is Jesse Teng. I had a terrible experience today with one of their secretaries--Wendy. Last month, Aug.18,2014; i brought my son to have his teeth cleaned so i expected them to fill his teeth today. To my dismay, after the procedure, I was told by Wendy that Asher had a cleaning (and not a filling as i thought). And she was very insistent that that was what he was scheduled for (even though i disagreed with her). Because she seemed very confident, I started doubting my memory too. Long story short, I found out moments later that I was right---Wendy had indeed ordered the wrong procedure but that she couldn't give me a refund until she had talked to her boss 3 days from now. She apologized but she didn't have an apologetic attitude and even added that, "I can't just write you a check now." When i tried to point out her arrogance, she just left me in the middle of a sentence...very rude! If you want anything done here, you have to keep track of things yourself because Wendy might not look at your historical file...again (and try to accuse you of booking the wrong procedure)! Good thing, though, that she didn't have my son's tooth pulled by mistake! read more

I have only used Deer Valley previously for emergency dental. I am a bit apprehensive when it comes to dental work. The Dentist Dr. Morin was not only informative but very patient with me on my recent visit to set up a treatment plan to get my teeth needs in order. I am in need of a lot of work and she took the time to explain all I would need and the options to move forward. She listened to my concerns and gave her advice for the best course of treatment. After she sent me to speak with Wendy Morin, who gave me not only an estimate on what the cost was but also advice on how to proceed in the best way cost wise as well. She broke down all the work in categories of what was basic and what was extensive so I could have a good idea of where my insurance will cover and where I will be paying more. Once I speak with my insurance she will be able to provide me with the cost to the penny after insurance. Aside from the poking and prodding that causes nerves and apprehension so does the cost as dentistry can be quite "expensive" .Deer Valley not only made me feel better about the work that was going to happen but also with expense! read more

Deer Valley Dental Care is the best dentist I have visited in years. This office was recommended to me by a friend and I am glad I tried it cause I will be visiting for a long time to come. I've visited 3 times and have had my wisdom teeth extracted which went very well and despite my Jaw being difficult wrapping itself around my tooth roots the procedure was very successful. I had minimal swelling and my gums were nearly healed after 4 days. The office is clean, trendy and convenient and the staff is very nice. They are caring, reliable and the appointment scheduling is extremely easy. Functionally - the cleanings and surgeries are quality work and I feel confident in the dental work they provide. Emotionally - the staff are excellent and they care about your comfort and ensure that you are happy and not in pain (Elaine and Dr. Ali especially) If you have a busy schedule and need to fit a dentist visit into your life this is the place as they are open every day of the week with great hours. The massage chairs and TV's make the visit pretty nice and I never have to wait to get in. read more

Let me start by saying, I am not a fan of dentists. So much so, that I hadn't been in about 10 years. Whenever my wife would suggest I go, the inner child in me would start stomping around or enact the "I am going to play dead, you want me there, drag my limp body" solution. After a few years of constant nagging, I had no choice but to finally suck it up and go. The massage chairs in the entrance are a great idea. Whoever decided on that, brilliant. When the time came for my cleaning, it was fairly smooth sailing. Although I can't remember the name of the person that did it, she was pretty quick and certainly accommodating to the fact that I am a man child. I can't remember which dentist I saw after the cleaning, but he was very quick and I am happy to say, even after 10 years, still no cavities. Everything was great, and when I do decide that the wisdom teeth the dentist said need to come out, should come out, this is where I will go. We'll put that on hold for the time being. Baby steps for now. Well still not a huge fan of the whole dentist thing, I will say a great job was done. read more

I couldn't have been more pleased with my experience. Dr. Robertson and his assistant were both patient and understanding. He allowed me to ask as many questions as I needed to and made sure I was comfortable with going forward. Dr. Robertson even assured me that there was a Plan B in case things didn't go as expected (I'm a "Plan B"kind of gal and I'm heading out in 15 days). Also, I've had dental issues throughout my life and for once it was great meeting a dentist who didn't make me feel like I was in second grade and he/she was a disappointed teacher. The office does offer nitrous oxide which I chose to use as I get quite anxious, between the constant updates I was as relaxed as a person could be under the same or similar circumstances. Finally, I received an estimate for a complex extraction but Dr. Robertson told the nurse to change it to a simple extraction which saved me approximately $100.00. In a world where money is valued above all else how refreshing it is to come across a business with integrity. Thank you ! read more

It all started about a month ago when I had problems with a cracked molar on a Thursday night. I've avoided dentists for a long time because like most it's never a fun experience. I couldn't put it off any longer and looked around but couldn't find a dentist that would take me on an emergency this close to a weekend. I Phoned Deer Valley and they fit me in first thing Saturday morning. From the minute I walked in, everyone there are all very friendly, prompt and professional. Trudi and Dr. Morvarid Monfaredzadeh (aka Dr. Mori) did a fantastic job and had me fixed up in no time with a root canal and temporary cap. They did such a good job I decided to get a few cavities dealt with during a few more return visits that I had been putting off until now. Each visit has been the same as the first and in the end feel much better and it's been a long time since hot/cold hasn't bothered me. I would definitely recommend going here (especially Trudi/Dr. Mori), so much that I'll be using them regularly from here on. read more

I think dental care here is comparable to other places with good service, typically friendly staff and TVs at each chair. There may be one person here and there who may be a bit more friendly but that's with everywhere. What really differentiates Deer Valley Dental from other dentists and has had me to move here from my previous dentist is their flexibility in hours (open at 7AM until later in the evening and on weekends) and their availability when booking. Other, prior, dentists had banker hours open 8-4, Monday to Friday and it was very difficult to schedule an early morning appointment unless you are booking MANY months ahead. I haven't had an issue to date trying to schedule an appointment early enough in the morning that doesn't bite too much into the work day and it doesn't require months ahead to schedule such an appointment. They are also quite good in that most of their documents are digitized so you can see your charts and scans on the computer screen or TV and compare with how you were before. read more

Our family of 8 needed a Dentist. It was difficult to change after a decade of loyalty, but after several short notice cancelations due to lack of a hygienist it became clear that it was time to take our business elsewhere. I was the first to experience the change and saw Dr Wir, whom I am told is new to the practice. He meticulously explained what was going on with each of my teeth. I especially liked that I could see inside my mouth on the ceiling television. I am resistant to change, but felt comfortable with the Dentist assistant as well as the hygienist. So comfortable in fact that I immediately booked appointments for 2 of my children next week. I appreciated his honest appraisal of our previous dentist siting that he was conservative with my teeth. I also made an appointment to have 2 filings done the following week. I chose Deer Valley Dentist because they do direct billing, and it was approved even before I saw Wendy Morin to make the followup appointments. read more

I am a new patient at Deer Valley Dental and so far I'm very pleased and satisfied with the service I've received. I've been there twice so far and each time the waiting time to be seen was very short, in fact the second time I did not have to wait at all as I was called immidiately. The staff is friendly and attentive. Every procedure was explained to me. I was asked how I prefered to be billed and was given various choices; my cleaning was done quickly and effeciently in fact only two and a half units were used whereas with my previous hygenist at the place I used to go to before; all my alloted six units would be used in one session. The dentist introduced himself to me and told me about his background and asked me about myself. All in all I'm very pleased with how I've been treated and I would recomment Deer Valley as a good place to go for dental care. read more

I avoid dentists like the plague. That being said when I finally went to see Dr. Mori, the staff at the office were extremely friendly the minute I walked in. Dr. Mori took the time to explain the situation and gave me the pros and cons of my options. I ended up getting a bridge installed and to be honest i was expecting it to look noticeable like many ive seen. Not only is Dr. Mori a great dentist but an amazing artist who takes great pride in her work. She does awesome work and I would recommend her to anyone. When I sat down with Wendy she also took the time to explain the cost breakdown and insurance benefits as well as answering all of my questions even the stupid ones. I have been a patient at Deer Valley Dental for over 9 years. I love how they can always fit you in when needed and I have never had to wait long in the waiting room which is sad because they have massage chairs!! I had a procedure done by Dr. Ali that was amazing! I had a really bad molar that I was having a root canal on, it was too rotted and cracked so it had to be pulled. I didn't want a huge whole in my mouth and was getting my wisdom teeth removed as well that day, Dr. Ali implanted one of my good wisdom teeth into the space in front where my cracked tooth had to be pulled. He capped it and it is still doing great over 7 years later. Also I live in Silver Springs NW and make the trip all the way down there whenever I need an appointment, well worth the drive. I'm a client of Deer Valley Dental since the beginning of 2010, I switched to Deer Valley because my Dentist I had before for 10 years let me down in an Emergency situation on a Sunday, 24 hrs before I went on Vacation. Calling around and trying to find a dentist on a Sunday for an Emergency as a new Patient is Impossible. With Deer Valley Dental it was not a problem to get an appointment. After My Vacation I became a regular Patient with Dr. Ali. Before I became a patient with Deer Valley ,I also had to go to a periodontist every 3 month for periodontal scaling. (that was not fun) . So far I had besides Cleaning, Laser Gum Surgery, a root Canal, 2 teeth pulled and 3 Implants. Not once did I feel any pain during the work being done nor afterwards. read more
