Being right next to the flowing water made everything felt peaceful and grounding. We went a bit early, which helped because those pools do fill up fast, and we were able to have one to ourselves for a little while. It was quiet, people were respectful of noise levels, and all you could really hear was the water. The sky was a perfect blue that day, which made the whole experience even more beautiful. ‍ Pools and Amenities They have two large main pools that feel like swimming pools. One is hotter and the other is a medium temperature, and there is even a lap lane. They provide lockers at a cost for your belongings and lounging chairs where you can keep snacks or anything you bring with you. Everything felt clean and easy to use. Customer Service Customer service was great. The staff were super friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which really added to the experience. Accessibility and Parking Parking was easy and convenient. There are quite a few stairs throughout the property. If you have bad knees or mobility issues, I would recommend taking your time. There are railings at the main pools, but not at the creekside pools, so just be cautious. Price The price is $35 per person for an all day pass. They also offer senior discounts. For the experience, atmosphere, and amenities, it felt worth it. Overall Experience Overall, Mount Princeton Hot Springs is a gorgeous, peaceful place to relax and reset. I really enjoyed myself visiting and would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a calming getaway.

The staff at the historic bathhouse front desk was disinterested and unhelpful. Not pleasant like we were wasting their time. There are no clear instructions as to what a day pass entails, and questions are referred to a map but nothing else said. A portable map or more signage would be helpful. The staff just were there for a job and offered up nothing. One pool seemed to have too much chlorine. The pools are moderately hot. The creekside pools looked enjoyable but the one theme people said is "if you can get there." Truth, as even able-bodied youth appeared to have trouble scrambling ambling over boulder cobble Chalk Creek banks to gain entry. Seemed treacherous. A large pipe fed hot water into the cold creek. Fees like 10$ for towels with 5 dollar refund were nickel and diming in my opinion. The location is beautiful. The facility is well built. Nothing was clear as to layout and where to go. There are other hot springs in the region that fit our vibe. We will not return.

My wife and I stayed in the Cottonwood Cabin for our anniversary and it was a fantastically relaxing 3 nights. The cabin itself is roomy enough and very quaint. The shower was a bit small but served its purpose. The real treat was the hot spring. It was larger than the pictures led me to believe and very enjoyable. It was a bit warm at times but there is either cold water nearby or some snow to throw in to control it. We spent way more time in it than any hot tub or private pool I've ever had with a hotel or B&B. At night it was all starry skies and the peaceful sound of the nearby creek. We will be back, it will be a task to try to out-do this anniversary spent at Antero Hot Springs Cabins.

The Antero Hot Springs Cabins are run down and poorly maintained. The price that is charged for…read morethese cabins is extremely high for what you get. They appear to have been quaint at one time but they are not now. First, these cabins are not remote at all. They are located right next to each other and there is a house on the hill overlooking two of them. We could hear the people next to us talking while they were in the back of their cabin, and I'm sure that they could hear us. There really isn't much privacy. The hot springs fed hot tub was nice but it was not clean. Supposedly, the tubs are drained and cleaned after every guest stay. I highly doubt that ours was drained let alone cleaned. I spent the first 30 minutes skimming out leaves and debris from the surrounding trees and plants. The cabins are rustic. They are definitely not luxurious. The shower is very small and basic. It is so small and dirty that you will be thinking: "why bother?" Ours had mold in the grout. BTW, it takes almost 10 minutes for the water to get hot. I could give some more specifics but if you've read this far, I think you get the idea. If you're not concerned about having a lot of privacy and cleanliness etc, these may be worth a visit...but I think for the price, you can do a lot better. One more thing: there is a review on Yelp or Google about the owner's dogs bothering some guests. When my friend, who booked our stay, inquired about it, the owner or an employee named Jessica replied in a way as to suggest that there was no problem. However, when we got into the cabin and read some of the many signs and rules, one mentioned that if loose dogs come near the cabin to not feed them or let them into the cabin. It described the dogs as being "valley dogs." I suspect that they are the owners dogs. I could hear dogs barking in the residence on the property. They didn't bother us at all but it made me suspect that the owners are not being forthright about the issue that had been reported in the review.

There's plenty of good campsites along the road. The trail turn off is easy to find, with big stone stairs leading up the peak. What a beautiful trail! You first arrive at a big flowery meadow. The hike isn't necessarily that hard, but there are numerous rocks from the meadow all to the summit. It's a very exposed peak and not one I would think about with storms. It's a pretty flat walk, then the trail climbs left up the ridge between Princeton and Tigger Peak. From here, there's great views south to Mt. Antero. The hike gets harder but never gets worse then class 2. There's a small false summit but overall a great hike! The views you get north and west are unreal, you can see many other peaks. Route finding was tricky but look for rock piles.

This was my 3rd 14er, so still fairly new to the game and it was definitely tough, but doable. The road up is scary and bumpy with pot holes, rocks, etc. I did it in my old Subaru Forester but it wasn't pleasant. The trail up to the ridge line is pretty easy to make out but still lots of rocks and parts where it's more rock than trail. The trail as a whole is nearly nonexistent except for the rock stacks people make. This becomes very true once you're at the ridge line. This is where things get really ugly. The last 1/2 mile or so to the top is steep and rocky. Straight up scramble and bouldering! Thankfully there's not a false summit and when you FINALLY get to the top it's such an amazing feeling and accomplishment! It's a small area up top compared to others I've done. I did two things wrong: I tried taking a short cut on the way down and ended up soft core rock climbing my way back to the trail. Super scary and more work than it should've been so just take the all trails route. Also leave early! Start before 6 or 7am. I started at 8ish, took forever and it started raining, hailing and thundering. I was so worried but luckily I made it down safely. If you're thinking about doing this as your first 14er I would personally recommend Sherman or quandary. This is tougher and pretty long, super rocky and easy to get lost! But definitely do it eventually because it's also beautiful and there are hot springs down the road that would be fun to do after :) side note a day pass at Mt Princeton hot springs is 40$ & about 5 min drive from 2WD lot

Anthony totally took care of us, making sure we were comfortable at our site which was right by the river. We locked ourselves out of the trailer late on Saturday night. We called the after hours number and the host, Megan, called Anthony. IAnthony offered to take us to a hotel and call a locksmith in the morning. Our keys, purses, chargers, etc. were locked in the trailer. To make a long story short, he helped us break into the trailer. The next morning he came back and repaired the lock that we broke to get in. When he was done, it looked like new. Anthony refused any money, he did all this on his own time. The restrooms were amazing!! The whole camp was very clean and accommodating. Everyone was very nice and shared positive vibes. This is now our favorite place to stay when we are in the Salida, Buena Vista area. They have a fun gift shop and they help you with rafting trips, hot spring excursions, etc. The town of Salida is nearby and has cute stores, restaurants, and river access. I HIGHLY recommend Chalk Creek Campground. What could have been a terrible weekend that first time out, turned out to be a wonderful weekend thanks to Anthony and to Megan's hospitality. Anthony restored my faith that there are some truly nice people in this world. .

We are Messianic/1st century Christians that celebrate the Hebrew Festivals so finding places we can trust with the "set apart" vibes is super important to us. First off, I love that this campsite is still owned by a family VS a corporation! The owner Megan is so sweet and really does her best to manage the grounds and create a great experience for her customers. Her staff Ron, Jan, Jason, Jeremy, Michael, Luke, Joyce, and Anthony (everyone I can think at the moment) really makes this place feel like a home away from home. Great location: We personally like camping in tents down at the lower level. Yes, there is a road that can be heard because it's directly behind the site but who cares?! I think it's in a really convenient place in between Salida (20 minutes away) and Buena Vista (7 minutes away). The beautiful river that runs through is really pretty sounding most of the time! I go straight to sleep hearing the babbling brooks and occasional fish plopping out of the waters Facilities and convenience: The wifi is great! I believe they use starlink now! I like to park ny truck at the upper level to finish any work emails/calls or watch movies The showers do require quarters but I won't complain because they get really hot, really fast. I've never had any issues with having hot water here. Also, the bathrooms stay really clean and the laundry room next door is super convenient. We like to shop in the front store for stuff when we run out of basics. Saves time and money not having to go to the grocery store! Dog friendly: We have a small dog (terrier and Chihuahua mix) that gets pretty yappy when she sees other dogs but what dogs don't freak out when they see other dogs? The poop stop for her at the upper level is great to let her do her business when other dogs aren't around. We dont have any kids with us but we see families come with kids all of the time and they seem really happy playing lots of outdoor games in the fields! The campsite also hosts bingo on weekends and kids have lots of fun playing. God bless this place!
