Lil Karl went above and beyond. We rolled up and we were disappointed in our site- he found us new ones. He and his brother had the best customer service all weekend.

My husband booked beds for us in the bunkhouse for myself and 2 girl scouts who were doing a raft trip. We were mostly looking for a place to sleep and not have it be too expensive and this was perfect. They also have RV hook ups, tent sites, tiny homes, cabins and yurts available. The area was very beautiful. The restrooms have a code on them but there is also showers available, a rec room, hiking trail. We didn't really get a lot of time to explore as we were only there for an evening but we enjoyed our time there and i will be back in teh future.

Entire property is well taken care of. Helpful staff, and padded amenities. Incredible views on either side of the day. Out-of-state road warriors are welcome here. If it's a pit stop or a quick staycation, the BV overlook is easy and well worth it.

Great experience. I rented a small cabin. The heater. Unit had a small electric radiant heater. Took a bit to warm the room up but got it pretty decently toasty on nights which got into the 20s. Check in and out was easy. Complementary coffee. I was never around when the coffee shop was open so I can't comment there. Great views. Overall a very positive experience and wouldn't hesitate to return some day

Amazing views, friendly staff. We loved our time here and will definitely return. Restrooms and showers were really nice and clean. There's a store for any supplies or souvenirs you may need. Our site had water and electric, and there's a dump station. Close to town, and to hiking trails. Loved it here.

Formerly the BV KOA the new owners have made many improvements to the campground and especially to the common areas. The office building has brand new bathrooms, a pool table/TV room, large outdoor patio with a gas fire pit and plenty of seating and even includes a free dog wash station. The setting is spectacular with dead on view of Mt. Princeton. There is also a short trail that leads to the Chaffee County train network which goes for miles in all directions but includes a direct path to downtown Buena Vista (5 miles hike or mtn. bike).

I can literally not say enough positive things about this place!! Checking in, there is a little store there's a place to buy food like pizza burritos and breakfast, a coffee shop, a laundromat, and a super cool lounge hangout area. Super comfortable couches a huge flatscreen TV darts a pool table board games you name it. Just outside there are a couple fire pits that everyone can hang out at and cornhole boards. We rented a one bedroom cabin and we were totally in love with it. It was cabin 10, which I think is the best one because it has an amazing view. We definitely plan on going back and we will request that same cabin! The way it's positioned the view is right towards the mountains and the back porch with the swing is secluded. We were OBSESSED. It has a fire pit with a grill on it and then also a separate grill, with a very nice picnic table as well. The cabin has electricity and a fan, and I believe it has heating as well but we didn't need it. The bed was super comfortable and I love the comforter so much that I actually ordered the same one the next day. Also we had cell service!! There are three different bath houses and they were nice. Hot showers! We plan on going back and just spending two or three days here to relax. There is enough parking for 2 vehicles. Most of all, I left something very very important in the cabin so I called the the next morning and they of course had found it and held onto it for me until we could come back and get it. And that just meant the world to me. I 100% 10 out of 10 recommend this place and we cannot wait to go back!

This campground is an absolute dump run by dishonest crooks. We stayed here in October on a night that it got below freezing and snowed. We were put in a cabin that had a 2-inch gap between the bottom of the door and threshold. The heater was more like a hair dryer and didn't warm the cabin. It was 40 degrees in the cabin so we didn't sleep. The floor crunched while walking on it and the platform bed was metal. When we got off the bed there was a loud bang. When we tried to get a refund from the owners she blamed us and said the problem was we didn't understand rustic cabins. We have stayed in rustic cabins in the cold months for 10 years and never experienced this. There are many places in Buena Vista...take your business elsewhere.

WOW what a time. My…read morefriend and I signed up with this company to take us on a 2 day extreme class IV/V Overnight rafting trip on the Arkansas river. We both have experience with this company from rafting the Upper Salt River in AZ. Unfortunately the water levels didn't cooperate but, the rafting company modified the itinerary to give us the best possible adventure possible. Day upper upper Browns Canyon which led to class I've and the use of duckies. Operation am not a fan but, half of our group loved them. We were then driven 1.5 hours away for our dinner and tent camping (3 miles from our put in). Ryan and Eric our guides cooked a great meal and catered to the group. We awakened to a mist and heavy fog, which we were served pancakes and sausages for a warm breakfast, and let's not forget hot coffee. We then departed at 8:30 for our trip down the Royal Gorge were we hit class in rapids, lots of class 3s, great geology, good company, lots of fun and a great experience. Ryan our lead guide and Eric did a great job for 2 days of providing us a great experience and memories. You have many choices but from a personal experience this is the best company to deal with. We are already planning next year's multi day trip.

We "dodged a bullet" with this company. They called us less than an hour before our trip to cancel,…read morenot because of dangerous conditions, but because another group canceled, and they didn't want to take 3 of us out. No integrity and no remorse for ruining our trip. Fast forward, we found an amazing company that agreed to work us in the same day and, after speaking to several people in the area, it is well known that Wilderness Aware Rafting has less experienced guides and get stuck in the river holding up "traffic" most days. Literally no one locally has anything nice to say. In hindsight, I am glad we didn't go with them.

It was a lovely…read morelate-July day on the water, with some tricky navigating due to the season sunsetting into a milder whitewater flow. Our guide, Beck (aka Ms. Worldwide) was knowledgable and personable. There were three boats on the river in total and the guide team (including Tim and Killen (unsure of spelling, but it was not pronounced like the Irish Cillian)) was highly personable with great camaraderie. Seemed like they really enjoyed guiding together and working for the company. A jovial, knowledgable bunch. Which is what you want heading into a little death-defying-ish escapade! Our crew of strangers blended well together under Beck's guidance. She communicated very well through each rapids. I was unsure whether this rafting adventure would be either too campy or too risky, but for a comfortable outdoorsperson with some paddling experience, the Numbers trip was the perfect mix of adventurous and secure. There were no dunked teammates or capsized boats, but we did get stuck a little due to late-season exposed boulders. The RR team worked well together when we did, Killen hopping out to unwedge us like a champ so we could proceed along our mini-expedition. The trip took a few hours in all, close to 2 of which were in the water itself. The instructions were clear. The gear provided was solid. Tim's dog Connor was a good emotional support pooch on the ride over. The experience was well worth the cost. 10/10. I will ding the company on one front--they did have a photog snapping pics of us on the river, which were available for sale at trip's end. The price? $35 an image. I get the bottom line here, and for a large group pooling funds that might be worth it. But for 1-2 people snagging a single digital print? Hard pass. Overall, the trip was excellent and I'd highly recommend the company for trips on the Arkansas. Already thinking an earlier season, faster-flow trip with them is in the cards for next Summer.
