Saw some speedskaters in training, a hockey game going on and skating lessons for kids....if this gives you any idea of the size of this place. From what I understand, it has the fastest ice in the world, hence making it the ideal place to break records- not that I was going to try... After the skating lesson, there was public skating allowed and I got to skate on the ice of the speedskaters.... not being the greatest figure skater there is, I had to be assisted for a while until I felt comfortable enough to go on my own. I am proud to say - no falls :) I actually had a great time and was able to hold my own. No wonder this was the location for olympic events.... Wish there was a facility like this in Texas....but then again, that is Canada for you....home of hockey....

The drier the grass, the less likely you're going to want to dive for that beautiful white disc flying through the air towards you, and the harder it is to turn on a dime with nothing for your cleats to take a hold of. CRU's got nice fields, and a great view of Calgary with the Rockies in the background. I do believe they've added a couple more fields as well this year. Like everywhere else in town, the mosquitoes are out in full force here, just remember your bug spray. Great for tourneys, events, and a beer at the clubhouse after the game, it's a swell spot to get your activity on-keep it PG.

I arrived half an hour before and the doors were locked. I signed up online so I was puzzled. I waited and finally someone came to open the door. During the class the instructor was very hard to hear and difficult to understand. It's very difficult to have a bad yoga session (I didn't think there was such a thing!) but this wasn't as enjoyable as I would have liked :( She was very aggressive in her adjustments. I paid for the month so I booked another class for the following day. It snowed the night before but turned out to be a beautiful day - yet all classes (at both locations) were canceled. Okay, so I booked the following day for a spin class to try that out. A few hours before - the class got canceled! I have 30 days to try out this studio and 2/3 times I book - classes get canceled?! I expressed my concern and the owner refunded me $20. I don't know where she got that number from but I basically paid $30 for one class. As a previous yoga studio owner, I'm so disappointed and would NOT recommend this studio.

The Adult Learn to Row course was the reason I was there, and really loved it. Many Calgary restaurants close on Mondays so the club turned out to be a great alternative. I have bad memories of mediocre food at clubs around the world. The don't seem to have enough business to keep creative chefs. The meal last night at Glencoe was excellent. One of my friends and I both had risotto with seafood. It was as good as any risotto I've eaten outside of Italy. The other friend had perfectly grilled salmon. It looked yummy. He ate every bite. The three of us split two desserts. Both were great. The service was very good. While the room was full, but the tables had enough that we could catch up with each other after 25 years. Everyone at Glencoe from the receptionist to the other patrons was very both friendly and helpful.

Read on their site, you can book the facility for whatever you may need. I would recommend looking into this facility if you need to book sporting events or hold league games as it's a pretty nice facility.

YET, if you don't show up to play your games you will just get charged MORE $ for defaults, I've never seen a league that wants more of your money every second they can. I've tried over and over to be nice to owners, managers, and people and to JUST put me WHERE I SIGNED UP. I WANT TO BE IN REC NOT ANYWHERE ELSE because I know that's where I should be. I don't give an f*** about the terrible analytics that will tell me different. I would never tell someone to sign up for this league. SAVE YOUR $.

It's actually very interesting to check out different school gyms, but the thing is most of the time they are too far. Like this season, we keep going to Evergreen and Shawnessy. Also most of the time the gyms have really low ceilings and the whole basketball thing is not removable. The teams there sometimes do not have the sportsmanship. During the seeding weeks they are like very new to volleyball, but after the seeding (3 weeks later) they become pro!

The team is made up of College and University students from across North America, and the Dawgs play in the Western Major Baseball League. The venue is very family friendly. The cost of the tickets is low - $12.50 for seats, and $5 for the berm. We've done both, and neither have disappointed. There are often activities and events for little league teams as well. You can tell the community really loves this team, and every time we go to a game we feel like we're a part of that community. The Stadium seats 3000, which is a great size for minor league play. It is new (built in 2007) and clean. The stands are never empty, which makes for a great atmosphere. You can also tell that the fans really love baseball. The parking is free as well!
