Today was the first time this year ordering from Defelice. We went online to the eatdefelice.com website to get our order picked out. We went by the menu pricing & chose enough to use up our gift card. The total was about 1$ over the gift card amount. My daughter went to pick it up, and they said they just changed prices yesterday & needed $10 more than the gift card amount. I tried out a pepp roll and could tell something was off about it. There were three more rolls, so I opened one up. Turns out it is almost 95% dough, underbaked at that. There was at most 3 super thin pepperoni slices. The small ones like from a pepperoni stick maybe 2inch diameter. The cheese that I could find was just a small quantity, like enough to fill up a drinking straw. DeFelice Pizza is a shell of the Pizza shop that I knew growing up. An order for pick up that would be "ready in 45 minutes", I'm writing this as I just passed the 1-1/2 hour mark. I have been told 2 times, "the Pizza will be out in a couple minutes" clearly this is not the case. I am watching those working texting on thier cell phones or ducking between the 2 pepsi machines to make the occasional phone call. Numerous people have returned to the store to complain. This women was shorted breadsticks. So here is where it gets interesting. I was just told it has to "make one more pass". Interesting part, there are no pizzas in the oven. So truth is, "we ran out of dough" after a few more questions. WTF. I have been watching them taking more orders (apparently without dough). So here is my problem: this place finds it acceptable to lie to thier customers faces. Continue to lie while paying for your pizza that can not be made. Continue to lie to other customers that still think they are going to have pizza made for them. This place is run with incompetence and a sad shell of its former self. Always called them! Lately delivery has been terrible. I live right up from then less than 2 miles. Takes a long time! Last time took an hour and a half to get a Chicken Club salad and a Ribeye Steak Sub. Called them and no apology! Only well it's ON THE ROAD! This has been happening a lot! Love the thick pizza here! Crispy crust but still soft in the middle when you bite into it! I LOVE the taco pizza!! OMG it's amazing! Or just good old pepperoni is awesome too! Some may say its a little greasy but that's how you get the crispy crust. There are a few places that are a must have when I come back to the valley and this is one!
