Dr. Charlie is not only the best dentist in all of Bay Area, she and her staff are the most sincere and kindest of people! I have all the respect for them for being so bold to start their own female-led office and treating their patients with utmost kindness. Pitiful yet now laughable story, I fell on my face while roller skating in the neighborhood and badly chipped two of my front teeth. To make matters even worse, one of the two (front right) had already been treated for a root canal two years back from a previous silly accident. I was referred to Dr. Charlie from a family friend (also a dentist but specializes in root canals) and I am ever so thankful to have listened despite many nervous thoughts prior to my appointment. As soon as you walk in, you are welcomed with a bright, clean waiting room and it is not long before the staff assists you with signing in and ushering you to see Dr. Charlie. The short 15-20 minutes I spent speaking with Dr. Charlie (after all my x-rays and scaling), was enough to calm all my anxieties and instill all the confidence in her expertise. Dr. Charlie is not the type to sugarcoat a solution or push patients to make unnecessary decisions. She is realistic and conservative with all the many options she gives, taking every aspect into consideration. I left the office knowing I was in the best hands and came back the second appointment to receive a crown for my front tooth and fillers for the minor chip on my second tooth. Being that this was going to be a full crown on my very front tooth, I must admit, my anxiety crept in again the day of the appointment; but once again, Dr. Charlie did not force anything and patiently went over the options again to make me confident in her recommendation. Once the crown was placed, my goodness - My teeth look better than they ever were! The absolute attention to detail and patience to see how I was doing throughout the whole process was all truly the best experience. Although I previously gave Define Dentistry a 5 star rating, I am downgrading that to one star, which is far more than the deserve. Dr. Charlie gave me two crowns that lasted less than 14 months. They were extremely shoddy work, not only because of the obvious failures but according to my new dentist as well. After complaining to Define about losing one crown on Thanksgiving, I tried for almost two months to get a return call. When I finally got one, I was told that Dr. Charlie had recommended implants on both those teeth, which is a flat-out lie. In fact, her pat response when I requested implants on both was always "nothing is better than your natural tooth." She flat refused to give me implants on those teeth. Delta Dental will not pay to replace 14 month old crowns. I now have to pay out of pocket to replace shoddy work. Define Dentistry is taking absolutely no responsibility for their mistakes. Please don't fall for Dr. Charlie's great resume; this practice is utterly unethical. read more

And also when they where putting my veneers I heard them dropped them a few times and when they installed them one of them didn't feel as smooth as the other ones. Waited a few months to post review because I'm afraid they might send me some bogus bill. I thought this dental office will be my permanent one but it's the same as the other dentist I went to. I have anxiety in general and more at any dental office. While the dental assistant Ruby is very nice and gentle the entire office is all about making money out of you. Sheryl the front office person can seem a little fake but that's just me. At the beginning I saw Dr. Zoya I think she's a new dentist. I like her because you can feel her sincerity towards you as a patient and she's gentle. Dr. Charlie the owner on the other hand can be rough and don't know how to take care of a patient without her assistant. And she will tell you what they can do to your teeth to make it pretty so you can spend more money on treatments that are unnecessary. So I guess it's more cosmetics that is. She made a couple of promises to me that never happened. The Icon filling that she did left some deep abrasions on my 2 lower front teeth. Now they're sensitive and I can feel they're bumpy and not flat anymore. Now I'm off to see another dentist. read more

I am so happy to be the first one to leave a review for Dr. Charlie at Define Dentistry. They're located in the same office as Dr. Probst who I was with for almost 25 years until he retired recently. Due to COVID-19 I have not seen my health physician or my dentist in sometime since all I do is run out for the essentials. For the last few months I've had a loose molar and a lot of bleeding that I was dealing with and I didn't know who else to see except for Dr. Charlie and to say the least without trying to over exaggerate I feel she saved my life. First of all she does extractions too so you don't have to go to Dr. Mills for that anymore. Once the extraction was complete I had a significant amount of bleeding that was hard to stop and clot. It was very thin blood and I am on no blood thinning medicine so she was very concerned, yes Dr. Charlie is a female and she is young, nice and very informed with the most modern procedures. She informed me that she was very concerned that there was probably an underlining health issue and that I should see my physician immediately and get some blood test done. She actually kept following up with me until I did that. All in all the blood test did show I did have some underlining health issue that I'm working on now and my physician said she was a very good Dentist to notice this and to keep following up with me until I got in contact with him. I just got back from my second appointment with her to follow up and see how I was healing which is great and she also gave me one of if not the best gentle cleanings I've ever had. The facility has been totally remodeled and more modern and is easier to clean and stay sterile for during Covid-19 or anything else the world wants to throw at us. Her staff are wonderful and the equipment is like the latest technology stuff I've ever seen. Jaw dropping! Pardon the pun. To say the least Dr. Charlie didn't just receive a former patient/client from Dr. Probst, she's earned a client/patient for LIFE!
