We returned a few days later only to find that the provider had placed the spacer on the WRONG SIDE of her mouth. Needless to say, we were not pleased that she had to go through several days of discomfort for nothing. We immediately decided that we would get care elsewhere. The office told us there would be no NO CHARGES for her care. They "pretended" to be sorry for their mistake. Although I was still upset about the mistake, I felt the solution was adequate. For all my other dental visits, my insurance was billed within a few days and I have never waited more than 2 weeks after a dental visit to get a dental claim fully processed. In this case, the office submitted a claim 6 months after the visit and the insurance paid the office over $400 for "consultation" and xrays. I find it shady that the claim was submitted so many months after the visit. It makes me feel like they waited until we forgot about them. My fault I didn't notice this at the time because we had moved on to a different orthodontist (Dr. Schlicher--who is amazing and didn't even feel my daughter needed to have braces right away and has just been monitoring her for the past 2 years WITHOUT CHARGING US OR OUR INSURANCRE COMPANY! Six stars for him) I was recently looking over dental claims and noticed the 2024 ortho charge. I have $3000 lifetime ortho coverage so this office basically took over 10% of that amount for hurting my child. I called the office to discuss this and the basic answer I got was just to dispute the charges with the insurance company. The person I spoke said "of course we would charge for the xrays". REALLY???? You make a mistake that hurts a child and then wait 6 months and charge for xrays that we will never be able to use? And she then says "oh, we can send you a copy of the xray". Thanks lady...I really need xrays that are two years old because my daughter's mouth has not changed for the past 2 years! When I asked her why the claim was submitted 6 months after the visit, she immediately blamed the insurance company. There have been numerous dental claims submitted for every member of my family and yet this is the only incidence of this type of delay. It's been a long time since I've been this upset. Do not go to this place. They just rush to slap braces on everyone. Did I mention Dr. Schlicher has just been monitoring my daughter FOR NO CHARGE since 2024 and he sees her twice a year. My dentist was Meghna Prakash (Meg for short) and she is one of the sweetest, caring, patient people I've ever met. It was very wonderful to meet her, especially in her profession! More dentists like her are needed. I was very uncomfortable and anxious so I asked if Meg could attend during my root canal therapy the Endodontist would perform and she cleared a whole hour of her schedule for it, I am utterly grateful and enchanted, they allowed me to watch SpongeBob and it helped me to relax. Meg helped me to relax, by being very kind, explaining to me what things she will doing for the procedure, stopping and taking breaks if needed and going at my pace. The office staff, receptionist and dentist assistants were also quite wonderful and helpful. I'm very grateful I chose this dentistry, I highly recommend it, and if you do, ask for Meg! My husband and I have continued with the Levines ever since. What keeps me coming here even though I now live 100 miles away is the fact that Dr. Levine is what I want in a dentist. He is precise in his work and is technically outstanding. He makes you feel comfortable, it's easy to ask questions, and he communicates well so that I can understand. He is respectful and has extensive training and knowledge. He continues to improve the practice by staying current on all dentistry practices. He now makes his own crowns in the office so no need for a temporary. He is able to make adjustments to this crown in-house if necessary to prevent an additional trip into the office. Dr. Levine showed me how the crown is customized and it is pretty amazing! And most importantly, Dr. Levine is gentle and will warn you in advance if you will be feeling anything. The hygienist I see is Darlene and she is accommodating and works hard to keep your pearly whites in excellent condition. I have gone through a few other hygienists here but she has worked out the best for me. She is warm, friendly and I always feel like my teeth are incredibly clean as I leave the office. I love getting my teeth cleaned by Darlene as I feel like I'm getting a reset and clean slate for the next six months. The front desk is responsive and kind too. Everyone here helps to ensure you receive compassionate care and you feel welcomed and at ease. I had some dental work done during this last appointment where I was given a heads up that I needed to be in the office for two hours. From the beginning, the visit felt unprofessional. I waited for more than 30 minutes past my appointment time. I was told everything would take about an hour, but I ended up being in the chair for nearly three hours. During the procedure, I felt very uncomfortable. The doctor's hands were visibly shaking, which made me anxious throughout the treatment. I don't know what the reason was, but it did not inspire confidence. I had a root canal and a crown done there, and shortly after, I developed complications that I am still dealing with almost three years later. I've seen multiple other dentists since then, and they were surprised by the quality of the work that had been done. I continue to experience pain in my tooth and jaw. Even with insurance, the treatment was very expensive, and unfortunately, the quality did not match the cost. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this clinic or this provider. I strongly suggest doing thorough research and possibly seeking a second opinion before committing to treatment here. Now I had a herpes and infection in my mouth.

I used to drive about an hour just to see Dr. Hwang because he's truly the first dentist that made…read moreme feel comfortable and safe under his care. When I first went into his office, I had a good 20 something years of horrifying dental experiences. From my first dentist who forced spreaders into my little mouth and likely caused my TMJ, to the dentist who was so careless, inattentive (and just plain evil) that she attempted to do a root canal on me after my anesthetic wore off (not even asking if I felt pain) and without her assistant present to suction the blood and debris because she was too impatient to wait for her return from break. (The end result of which was me choking and spitting up the pool of blood that had formed in the back of my throat all over my own shirt and not receiving so much as an apology, just an expression of irritation.) I digress, Dr. Hwang is the exact opposite of that. You never feel like you're one of 10 plates the dentist is spinning, running from one room to the next to maximize patient count for $$$. Instead, you meet genuinely kind reception, a calm atmosphere, modern equipment and a dentist with great skill and gentle hands who always seems fully attentive and explains everything to you thoroughly. You won't be aimlessly sitting in the dental chair for hours waiting for him to return while your anesthetic wears off. Instead, you'll have quick, gentle treatment and consultation on your options. Some of my biggest dental regrets are the bad dental work I received at various dentists before I discovered Dr. Hwang. Unfortunately, I don't have insurance anymore so I had to find a medi-cal dentist and thankfully I did eventually find one I love, but every so often I'll get a birthday e-mail from Tri Valley Aesthetic and look back fondly and wish I could return and someday I think I will. If you have the option, I would highly recommend Tri Valley Aesthetic under Dr. Hwang.
