My family and I drove down from Sacramento to do a photo session for my daughter with Deidhra. From my initial inquiry all my correspondences with her have been very pleasant. She responds quickly and her contract is very detailed with all the information one would need for their session. I really appreciated the fact that she took the time to explain things to us about the business. We needed her honesty and we loved that about her. It was also a warm day out and she made sure my daughter was comfortable. She offered her and I water and even had her portable fan/ac on to help cool us down. We booked the 3-4 looks package and she was very hands on with it. My daughter's makeup needed some touch-ups and she showed us how the placement of makeup can make a difference in shots and showed us before and after pics. I was amazed at the difference. I wish I could give her a zero. I had an incredibly frustrating and unprofessional experience with Deidhra some time ago. Within 5 minutes of meeting her, she began talking poorly about previous high profile clients. Having someone in a professional setting talk poorly about previous clients and name-dropping constantly was a huge red flag that created an uncomfortable atmosphere. We didn't stay long even though we had driven a long way to get to her and really needed new head shots. We weren't happy with the images and kindly asked her not to use them on her social media. She put them up anyway and refused to take them down. Even worse, she made hurtful comments about my child in a dismissive manner. She started out by saying that my kid was a "nobody" which is not only offensive but also shows a complete lack of professionalism and empathy. Fast forward about 10 years. My kid grew up to have a very successful career and several people called me to let me know that Deidhra was using old images that she doesn't have permission to use On her social accounts. She's been asked to take them down but is playing dumb. She's crossing legal boundaries and exploiting my daughter because it suits her business even after she spoke so poorly of her when she was a child. She pulled a few shirts for me to wear as well from her studio wardrobe. She coached me through the poses and showed me photos along the way of what was working and what was not working. I had an amazing experience with Deidhra. I haven't had headshots taken since high school so I was extremely nervous and unsure of how it would go. She made me feel comfortable and confident throughout the entire shoot. She always made sure I looked my best while we were shooting. During the shooting section, customer was asked to kneel down the whole time , no stool provided. Also they overbooked customers, no time in between, we were delayed by almost one hour,because they ran behind, and while we were still in the shooting, next customer came and start doing make up, so we only get one time make up and styling, even we paid for 3-4 looks. The photographer gave us a hair clip and asked us to put our hair together by ourselves to get the different look. Not a pleasant experience with them. read more

Deidhra's a joy to work with. Very professional and an effortless charm -- her decades of experience and the speed and efficiency with which she got so many different looks makes it quite clear why she's the go-to in LA. I'm a professional actor who took a break to attend college and work in the industry, so I haven't gotten a new set of shots in probably close to ten years. As a performer, I always find something I don't like about a picture of myself-- but Deidhra knew exactly how to get the right shot that left me walking away without any worry. Very punctual. She's probably one of the only people I've worked with in Hollywood who is ready to roll at 8am when we agree to start at 8am. That was a relief right off the bat. She also had a variety of makeup and hair styling tools on hand to cover up a few blemishes, get rid of my under-eye bags and make sure I was feeling good about how I looked. When I arrived with a number of looks she helped pick a few different ones keeping in mind what I felt like I felt best in but still offering her professional opinion. She had a whole rack of clothing options on standby and offered for me to go through whatever she had on hand just in case I wasn't happy with what I'd brought. In general, getting a headshot can be an unnatural and awkward experience -- a lot of the past people with whom I've worked will tilt and angle my head, critique the way my expression looks, ask me why I'm making that face because it looks weird, etc... but Deidhra kept me smiling, loose, and comfortable enough to get the perfect shots. I think she really captured my personality in a way I didn't expect. I've also had to wait weeks in the past for other photographers with a high volume of clients to process their selects and send me a CD or a set of prints, but I was able to walk away with my material on a flash drive and have the pictures in hand THAT DAY. June 2020 I went and had my sons headshots done everything was good went back had my oldest daughter headshots done and the weather was bad so she asked me to come back I reschedule and everything shut down again with Covid and tried to reach out through email and tried to call her to make sure they We're still open since I live a hour away and didn't want to waste my time driving down there for nothing plus I didn't realize my daughter had another appointment the same day with her College professor who needed to sit down with her and I had to let him know if we could or couldn't make that appointment. A friend recommended this woman in Los Angeles to actors in need of new headshots. I checked out her site and loved her work. Didn't like her rates- at all ($600). But I figured I would call anyway to see what the "industry rate" mentioned would cost. Misunderstandings are a fact of life but when they occur over money you better do what you can to avoid them or suffer the consequences. I should have known better. This photographer stated that she would charge me $175 for a commercial headshot with X number of looks (where you change shirts essentially). I couldn't remember exactly how many looks we would do but I think it was 2-3 or 3-4. The standard is about 3 so I didn't pay too much attention. I realize I was getting a good price but I was also scheduling at her whim, for one hour of her time and it didn't include the actual images (I learned afterward that it costs an extra $25 for the disc or you pay Reproductions LA for each hi-res download). Plus, I had absolutely no input on the type of shots I wanted once she started shooting. Well golly gee wasn't it a big shocker when she speed shoots and then tries to hand over a bill for $275! I coughed. I said I hadn't budgeted for that nor did I agreed to pay any more than $175. Talk about a bait and switch. Maybe that's why she was quick to agree to $175? I ultimately offered $210 because I think the photos look amazing and hoped that giving a little more than the agreed upon $175 might appease her. Unfortunately, her demeanor went from mildly abrupt to downright obnoxious. She snapped at me and stormed off, leaving her assistant to wrap things up; refusing to even acknowledge my presence from then on. Didn't even say goodbye. Who acts that way after 14? Especially someone whose business depends on professionalism. The whole day left a crappy taste in my mouth and a knot in the pit of stomach. There are some people you should never do business with no matter how talented they are. This is one of them. read more

I recently got new theatrical headshots done by Deidhra, about a month ago, and I'm so happy with them! I got my photos the same day I shot with her, and my reps are thrilled with the results! Deidhra went above and beyond getting the perfect shot for each look I needed, and was a true collaborator in the process of picking backdrops and clothing options. I've already seen an uptick in my self-submission responses, and I feel so much more confident submitting now that I have such specific headshots for different looks.
