This is my 3rd time doing a photoshoot with Helen! She is absolutely amazing and makes everything so stress free even with a toddler. She knows how to redirect my toddler while still keeping the photoshoot experience fun and memorable for her. She is flexible and open to my ideas while also telling me what she thinks would look best. I did two in studio photoshoots with her and one where she came to my home and we did outdoor. I have received at least 25-30 images that I think are amazing from each photoshoot that we have done and most were mini photoshoots 30 min. Her turnaround time is also faster than any other photographer I have used and her prices are so reasonable. I highly recommend her. read more

Mini holiday session- don't recommend. She overbooks herself and then rushes through them. My mini session was done in 8 mins...after starting late because she was far behind. As another person mentioned- she doesn't try to help you adjust to get the best pics- just replies with I'll edit that out. I just think maybe she is trying to get the most money/clients done in few days...leading to not good quality service. Don't stress over pictures especially if you have small children- find another photographer. read more

Fantastic experience - Helen is wonderful with newborns, very responsive & communicative, and extremely talented with a camera. Sorting through all the LA newborn photographers was difficult - we didn't know what to look for and couldn't book too far in advance since due to..childbirth! I reached out a few days after our baby came and Helen got back to me within a few hours with her availability and sent her a deposit via Venmo. She's converted her guest house into a studio and has tons of outfits, headbands, wraps & props. Not knowing what to expect we brought a few stuffed animals and outfits, but only used her items. She works with an assistant who helps handle, dress & pose the baby and completely customized the entire shoot to our preferences as opposed to a script of setups & going through the motions. She was so receptive and completely put us at ease (she and her assistant have spent much more time around newborns that we have, we even picked up a few handling tips!). My experience was not as expected at all. A bit disappointed. Firstly, this is a home studio, she used the garage as a studio, it was over 100 degrees in the garage that day. My son was irritated and did not cooperate due to the heat. The service was extremely rushed, she did not give my son enough time to get comfortable. Kids especially toddlers need to get comfortable at new places. I also feel that a good photographer can make a kid smile. The pictures did not come out like I was expecting. I honestly feel I could have done the same thing she did myself at home. A good picture you cannot tell if it was edited. My son's photos look very edited. Overall my experience was not great. Not happy with the money I spent. Lastly, her communication could be better! I learned my lesson not to trust yelp reviews. Her energy and vibe is also off. read more

Best photographer ever! I had a cake smash shoot for my twins, and it was everything I had imagined! Helen did such an amazing job organizing everything. She communicates very well and makes sure everything comes out just the way you would like it. Her assistant is amazing as well. She made the boys feel very comfortable during the photo shoot. I really would have loved to give this review a five stars, but the experience I had does not warrant it. I bought a package (a mini holiday session and then a milestone session). I really wanted to cancel after my holiday session but I bought a package so I assumed I could not, as we did not have a good family picture AND I felt the vibe was a bit off during the session. When I asked for an edit for one of my family pictures, she was unable to do it and gave me a picture with my cleavage just blurred. I could have done that myself. Fast forward to our milestone session few months later- I specifically stated in my email that I wanted the baby tub as one of the setups and it was not there. There were two setups with a baby bed instead (both similar). When I addressed this during the second bed setup, she stated that it would take time to set up the tub and that would be an additional cost. So I had to pass, as I felt for some reason I was in the wrong. I am not sure why it wasn't there in the first place??! I mentioned it in our conversation days before the photoshoot day. I receive my pictures, and I wanted to purchase the photographer chosen gallery, but now she increased it by $50. I questioned her about this as last time it was $50 less and she certainly was not too keen about me asking about the price change. She did end up charging me the same price. I receive my pictures and I chose certain ones for her to edit. I ask her to crop my daughter out as my son did not have many solo ones, and she did exactly that- she gave me a picture cropped. You can even see part of my daughter in the picture. I guess I wasn't specific enough and what I meant was photoshop her out as I could crop a picture myself. Additionally, I asked for her to put a filter on two of my pictures and she stated she does not add different filter options, when the picture did not even have a filter on it in the first place. She ended the email with her stating she has completed her editing for my images and that I should reach out to a retouching company for my editing requests. I don't normally leave reviews, but I felt I had to for this experience. I have worked with other LA photographers and they were all great experiences. This one was quite stressful and my editing requests, which were quite basic, were not fulfilled. I don't feel I should have to pay a retouching company to edit my pictures, which was part of my package anyways. The amount of money I paid, the edits should have been done for me. read more

I've had two newborn sessions and one holiday family session with Tiny Toes Photography. Helen is a professional, creative, and accommodating photographer. She is so gentle and experienced while handling newborns, and has a eye for beautiful aesthetics. She creates such a warm and relaxing environment during her sessions at her comfortable home studio. She is very easy to communicate with over e-mail and always takes into consideration your desired theme or colors, but also can add her own creative - and seriously cute - touches. Her prices are reasonable and she conveniently accepts payment over Venmo. For our holiday session, she even allowed our dog into the studio so we could include the whole family! We booked a session for our holiday card. The session was for 30 min but felt rushed and was done in 22min. The photographer made zero effort adjusting our posture or make recommendations on what do. I'm a first time mommy and I had no idea that booking a photographer for newborn pictures had age preferences. I also didn't book one in advance because I didn't plan on getting them done. But I had a change of heart, and couldn't find one who would take my son who was 1 month old. But I was lucky to find Helen. She responded to my questions quickly and happily accepted that my son was not in the 2-10 days old preference. She assured me we would still get great shots but it may be more of a challenge because he was not as sleepy to work with for those sleepy head shots. We've worked with Helen twice so far and absolutely love her! First one was a family session at Griffith park. Helen captured the fall colors and our family dynamic perfectly. Second session was newborn session for our daughter. Unlike some photographers who only does shooting in their studio, Helen was very accommodating and traveled to our home for only $50 extra. She brought so many props with her! She spent about 2.5 hours doing the shoot. She was so loving and gentle with the baby, carefully folding her into different poses. I contacted Helen after waiting over a month to plan our newborn photo shoot! She was so gracious and reassured me that at 5 weeks old our baby boy could still have a go at newborn pictures. We quickly scheduled a session within a couple of days at her home studio in Sherman Oaks, as her main studio was under temporary construction. Helen's home studio was beautiful and very cozy! She has literally every background, prop, textile, and knit swaddle that you can think of. During the shoot, she used several sound and shush machines to create a serene environment for our 5 week old to relax and eventually fall asleep. She is truly the baby whisperer and had our little guy sleepy and in the cutest newborn poses within the first 10-15 mins! We followed her advice on keeping him awake just before the shoot as well as feeding him right before - we also brought a bottle and pacifier to the shoot to help keep him sleepy. It worked like a charm. Helen is warm, kind, and has such a beautiful voice that she uses to sing and lull the babies to sleep. She was also patient with our wiggly guy, even when he tinkled a few times during the session. Our photos turned out really well and we got the newborn poses we truly wanted.
