As a first timer visiting the San Antonio River Walk, I was excited to enjoy the vibe, food, music, and drinks with my family. While walking, we passed Del Mar Wine & Cigar and I convinced everyone we should stop for margaritas, a decision I later regretted. My wife, brother, brother-in-law, and I each ordered one. After walking out and taking our first sip, we all immediately looked at each other and asked the same thing, "Is there any alcohol in this?" To give them the benefit of the doubt, we kept drinking, thinking maybe we just needed a few more sips. That never happened. We all finished our drinks and were convinced we had just paid $12+ each for what tasted like straight mixer. If there was any tequila in those margaritas, and that is a big if, it could not have been more than a splash. The fact that we even left a generous tip makes it even more frustrating. What should have been a fun Riverwalk memory turned into a disappointing and overpriced experience. Avoid this place if you are looking for an actual margarita. read more

Don't go here! The employee was rude and not very helpful. He asked if my wife was my sister (which is totally fine) but when she told him that I was her wife.. he said he couldn't serve us any tap beer or frozen margs. San Antonio has been so friendly. This was just a bad experience. read more

From the outside, this looks like a little retail cave-the entrance is tucked away with a small sign above. It's got a whimsical charm about it. Inside, you'll find a few bottles of wine and a small humidor with cigars-not the largest inventory around, but you'll likely find something to your liking. Service was friendly-the man behind the counter was jovial and welcoming, engaging in small talk while we completed our transaction. read more

HORRIBLE!!! The man who served our drinks was absolutely rude and combative off the bat. I asked for a margarita, a regular margarita, and then when I change my mind to a strawberry, he said too late you're stuck with a regular margarita. He didn't even start pouring my drink before I changed my mind. After I said oh no, I definitely don't want that. He continued to press and said that I was required to pay for it. When I pressed and said that I had not even touched the drink or had taken a sip of it, or had even remove the wrapper from the straw, he looked me dead in my face and said I had to pay for it. He was rude, and honestly a dick, and I would never suggest going to this place. The only reason I'm giving it one star is because I'm required to submit this review with one star rating. If I could give it negative stars, I definitely would. He also looked like bubbles from trailer Park boys, just for reference and your warning to avoid anybody that looks like that within the store. read more

A small shop on the river walk, it's tucked down near the Del Mar area (hence the name) so you may walk past it. It's a convenient stop for cigars and wine. Selection wise you have your standard Monte Cristos/Rocky Patels amongst other common ones do this is likely for those who want something simple. You may be better off hitting up a more traditional cigar storefront but again, it's there for convenience if you feel like grabbing a stogie as you're strolling alongside the water. read more

Cheap, middling cigars at premium prices. There are no boutique brands, and the cigars they have are priced about double what you would pay anywhere else. I understand this is a tourist area, but there are limits to what I'll pay. The humidor was either calibrated incorrectly or doesn't work at all; it was the size of a small closet. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be anywhere else on Riverwalk, so my recommendation is to bring cigars from home. If you don't care about money, or wouldn't know a good cigar if you had one, then go here. read more

A small shop with a small selection of cigars, hidden away along the River Walk near St Mary's. Mostly cheap and midrange cigars. I didn't see any premiums. They also have wine and beer. The owner is nice enough, but charges 39 cents for matches even with a cigar purchase. read more

This place has beer and margaritas to go and you can legally stroll around the river walk sipping and ice cold brew! ...or glass of wine, or margarita! My husband and I went there after a ghost tour in the SA center. It was my birthday and I wanted to keep drinking, not getting drunk, but I'd rather have a bottle of wine for the cost of a single glass at a bar or restaurant. It was beginning to rain and it was like 11pm, so we walk a few minutes to this place, but despite the hours posted saying that they close at midnight, the door was locked and the woman inside said that they're closed. I got kinda pissy and dropped the F bomb to my husband, I was being bratty, I'll admit but we don't drink often and never get a night out, so I felt justified. Right as I dropped the F bomb, the owner guy came around the corner, seemingly out of nowhere and asked if we needed something. I felt embarrassed, having just used profanity like I did, but he let us in and the woman (also an owner) an and he were very nice. I gave them 5 stars because they helped make my night great, they didn't seem bothered by how badly I had acted (for which I am still embarrassed about), and the prices were right. Awesome place to grab a beer, wine, cigar, etc. I loved the staff so much here I popped in several times over the weekend. It was a convenient spot to grab a cheap Lauginitas on draft. Friendly staff and they serve beer/wine to go. read more
