Love the ambiance here and the merchandise for sale I got myself a cute bag as a reminder of my visit here. The cold brew coffee was delicious so was the brookie I got. Freshly baked pastries, coffee, cold drinks and more. They have many gift items and kitchen supplies that are great quality. Located inside the beautiful Emma hotel. A great place to get your cup of coffee any time of the day. The service was ok I honestly expected friendlier service. Other than that all was good.

One year later and I'm still lurking at the Pearl and the Larder is perfect place for a latte on a cold, for San Antonio, rainy day. An always delicious latte with great and friendly service perfect tonic for a gloomy day!

Larder is a hit or miss for me. Sometimes I get good quality. Sometimes I don't. I have worked at the Pearl for around 3 years. Today was the Farmers Market and there's a lot of traffic. I decided to sit in Larders today with my plate of food where I was approached by the manager, I guess. Was a female, low ponytail, bangs, and lip stud on her lower lip. She told me that there was no out door food or drinks allowed. I was puzzled because no one had ever approached me in 3 years however I don't always choose to eat here. I expressed that her and she stated that they are cracking down now. I complied, "I asked if I could sit outside with my food on the patio. She apologized and said, "no". I get it. Rules are rules. However I was the only one asked to leave and there where couples with their drinks from Supper and other people with their food from the food hall- food from. Chilaquil I would have liked for the rules to apply to everyone.

Convenient place to pick up a snack or beverage, including beer and wine. They have a large selection of canned beer in the back of the back of the shop. There is also a coffee bar inside offering pastries and food. You can take alcoholic beverages outside the 4 blocks area surrounding Hotel Emma as they have an open container policy. .|\---/| | o_o | .\_^_/..2021

    Wrong hours of operation

This was my 3rd stop at a coffee shop posting hours of operation on Friday starting at 6am (snip below). But I arrived at 6:50am to find the gate of the shop closed, and when I asked a man-cashier, he told me they were not open till 7am. Though, I told the advertised hours said 6am. He wasn't interested in finding out where this info was posted, but instead repeated again that they would be open at 7am. I told him I drove all the way as my 3rd stop and last hope to get coffee as I needed to be at work at 7am and couldn't wait longer, but he could care less and repeated again they would be opened at 7am. What a waste of time, the man lacked listening skills and definitely no empathy.

Loved getting coffee here. This place is like a very nice convenience store that has a coffee shop and pastries. It's like a hidden gem. Service was great! The aesthetics is great, like an old library. As far as the coffee, I have high standards for lavender lattes and they really met my expectations. It was great! they had milk alternatives and pebble ice for the coffee (my favorite). Highly recommend this place.

Good coffee, slightly unfortunate name. I've been to Larder a couple of times--once for a cup of coffee, and another for a tasty lunch. The staff is pretty friendly and it also doubles as a small convenience store (albeit more expensive than your local Valero). Their lemonade is perfect for a hot day, and the sandwich was super filling. I only managed to eat half before taking the rest home. And the thing I was most excited to eat later? This MASSIVE fudgy brownie. It was one of those perfect brownies that reminded me of a gourmet Little Debbie brownie. Dense. Fudgy. In need of a cigarette and a nap afterward. Coffee shops are not a revolutionary idea, especially when you're traipsing about at The Pearl. But out of towners (or even staycationers) staying at Hotel Emma can't go wrong picking up a fine brew and treat at Larder.

Go here. Ask for a brown butter s'mores rice krispie treat. Swoon. Pay for it. Enjoy every bite of it. This shop has a nice selection of treats, snacks, lunch items, grocery items, drinks, etc. The staff was friendly and helpful as we tried to figure out what to eat. I would also stop by here if you were looking for a gift for a foodie as they had a nice selection of different olive oils, hot sauces, etc. It's a nice addition to The Pearl!

If you want a snack or a drink while staying at the hotel, this is your place. The beer is the same price as in the hotel Ice box, so don't go out of your way to try to save money. $3 per can of pearl beer. The store has a combination of dry goods and deli/ pastry items. They sell coffee too. The staff is great. The big plus is that it is easily accessed through hotel Emma.

Friday mornings on your day off are spent at Larder at Hotel Emma!

Usually that's because of the environment, which I'll say, I've been in some much "nicer" areas. They even had their own security guard ... but then again, he could have just been taking a break from his patrol. The two guys attending the store were super cool, offering their recommendations and a little conversation. However, DnB is a little on the pricier side compared to say a Spec's or Total Wine (I paid $31 for a bottle of Bulliett, which normally would cost me $22). Overall, it was a quick visit and a pleasant one so no complaints here and five stars for the review

I came into town on business - and rather than pay $10 a watered down cocktail on the Riverwalk, I opted to pick up a bottle of vodka to save a few bucks. This was the nearest liquor store Google would direct me to from downtown. This place is similar to a bank with a lobby and glass security panels surrounding the merchandise. You ask a teller what you want, pay for it through a sandwich sized window, and they push your liquor out through a separate metal drawer. This is obviously for security reasons - so I have no issue with that. In total transparency, I'm white (and was dressed in a suit) and this is in a minority area. People (customers) were looking at me funny, as if I didn't belong there. I've got no issue with it, so I found it kind of funny - but some may feel uncomfortable. Prices were great, tons of parking, and I was in and out in less than two minutes.

Finding the THC section was a little hard, but in case you are wondering, it is on the front left side of the store. Compared to other liquor stores, their THC sections is insane. They have so many brands I've never seen before and a pretty great selection of different THC options. At the time of check-out the staff was super friendly and they even signed me up into their rewards program, which I thought was a nice touch. Awesome customer service. For that one dude. But it was poor customer service for the rest of us in line, who have been to stores before and were courteous enough to arrive at the checkout counter with ALL the merchandise we intended to purchase already. About three minutes into a game I like to call "8,000 bottles of wine - 1 impressively inefficient cashier on duty", I decided it would be best if I try to frequent businesses who are financially solvent enough to staff two or more cashiers during peak hours. So I saved time at checkout by...driving elsewhere and purchasing my goods. I'm hoping, but not overly confident, that by the time you read this review the lager situation is resolved.

Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing, which is why I'm giving 3 stars. I ordered the veal Schnitzel with mushroom gravy (Jägerschnitzel) and red cabbage. The gravy had a strange gelatin-like consistency and lacked the rich flavor you'd expect from a proper Jäger sauce. The veal was extremely chewy and honestly made me feel ill afterward. The red cabbage was also very undercooked and completely lacked flavor. Overall, I personally did not find the food authentic or representative of true German cooking. What truly saved this experience was the outstanding customer service. Our server, Joseph, was attentive, professional, and genuinely kind throughout the meal. I also greatly appreciated Mr. Adam, the kitchen manager, who personally came out to discuss my concerns. He handled the constructive criticism with professionalism and openness, and I truly respected the fact that he listened carefully and considered my feedback regarding the sauce. Although I wouldn't personally return for the food, Joseph and Mr. Adam turned what could have been a terrible experience into one where I still felt valued as a customer. Their professionalism absolutely deserves recognition.
