    Cozy space with local charm!

Nestled away just off the main drag of Peterborough, NH is my next gem to share with you: Harlow's Pub. I had been on the road for two days, three flights, and four hours of driving and we decided that a cozy local pub sounded perfect for a bitterly cold New Hampshire night...Harlow's Pub was a winner! The hospitality starts as you walk up from on-street parking: Harlow's is as a home refitted into a business. Catchy exterior lighting and a warm glow from add to your anticipation as you walk up the ramp and to the main entrance off to the side of the building. When you walk through the door, you are immersed in local charm that only comes from a neighborhood place with an authentic history. Decor tells the story of the town and region in a tasteful manner. New England charm sat well with this Chicagoland native and the people watching is great. My wife and I love nachos. We only order them when we think we're at a place that can do the dish justice. Harlow's did not disappoint as our's was made to order with fresh taste and great flavors. There was plenty to share for two ravenous diners or four if sharing light bites before dinner. Props to a great selection of local beers on tap, I had two different IPAs during our meal and enjoyed both well-served pints. Many choices looked good, we opted for the meatball sandwich and the hot honey crispy chicken sandwich with fries. Both choices were solid! Great portions, with some to take home for later snacking. Side salads rounded out our selection and they were every bit as good as our entrees. Pleasant service, super clean bathrooms, and local clientele charm round out the reasons I'll be sure to return to Harlow's Pub next time I'm in Peterborough, NH! If I'm lucky, maybe I'll catch their Open Mic nights or live music! Until next time...TK

What's in the Blairwitch sandwich .

1st time ever stopping in here. Sat outside on a nice sunny day . Service was good , I ordered the Blairwitch sandwich with coleslaw and my GF got the smash burger with fries . My sandwich is a roast beef sandwich with peppers, onion, cheese and jalapeño. It was very good but WOW was it hot and spicy ! You might want to get the jalapeño on the side. The coleslaw was ok, was a little strong vinegar flavor . My GF smash burger looked great . Double patties. I did try the fries and they were good .

Our first time here. A very cool and funky looking restaurant that has what you expect, plus a few vegetarian and vegan options. The beer selection is small, but varied. We walked in and were seated quickly, but due to short staffing we had quite the wait before we were given menus. Then another wait until we put in our drink orders. Then another wait until they arrived and we could put in our food orders. We put in a second round of drinks orders after an hour. Then the food arrived in oddly staggered ways. By the time we were finished with our salads and sandwiches, we had been there two hours. Food and drinks were good overall.

Went in the last week of May for a quick bite of lunch and the service was friendly and fun! I had a BLAT that I wished I ordered the bread 'lightly' toasted because it destroyed the roof of my mouth (my fault not theirs) but the bacon was good and so were the burgers! I do agree with some of the comments it took a while for the food to come out. Cozy atmosphere a delightful way to pass the time in the afternoon. Respectfully Reviewed.

Took my father out for my his 87th birthday. Had a local beer on tap and the turkey on sourdough. All good!

Lobster Mac & Cheese. Those squiggly bits were the lobster. Yes, lobster.

We tried Harlows again but it's missing the mark with food. Service is excellent, the pub is clean, drinks are good, but the food served just doesn't score high. I ordered the Lobster Mac and Cheese, but it was more like Mac and Cheese soup with teeny shrimp and bits of lobster. Not sure what sort of cheese, it was yellow, watery and flavorless. For $21 I expected much better, I wasn't able to eat it. My fellow diner wanted a plain, cold roast beef sandwich on sourdough and fries but the server wrote down the Blair Witch sandwich and my friend got a grilled panini-like sandwich, completely not anywhere close to a cold roast beef sandwich.. She ate half and sent the other half home with me for my dog. But the music was nice.

Harlow's Pub Peterbourough NH first time at this restaurant. Beer IPA was very tasty. Took longer than anticipated for our meals, but it was worth the wait. My husband got the bandit hat stew for 23. I thought that was a little pricey, but the portion was large with tender beef overflowing in the bowl of heaven with two fresh pop overs for dipping (He was perfectly full and happy). I got the pasta Diablo which came with a light portion of blue cheese crumbles, which is wasn't sure if this would blend correctly. Wowza!!! Best pasta dish ever, creamy with perfectly cooked pasta, chicken tenders with a slight kick of spice and two slices of fresh garlic bread (you could actually see the garlic on the bread). We were shocked as this over achieved our expectations in this "foody area". 5 stars

Last Sunday we went out to Harlows, we called first because yelp has them listed as closing at 3pm Sundays and they close at 7pm. I've been before but it was my husband's first time there. They now serve french fries with their sandwiches and burgers, they were delicious. Food and service were great, really good burgers. This is a redo and not to be missed when driving through Peterborough!

Only order the roasted root vegetable salad if you like raw, undercooked root vegetables.

Delicious food with a cute bar and live music. Can also opt to sit outside on the cute patio facing Main Street.

Thirsty robots needs robots!…read more It's Saturday and we head in about 30 minutes after they open. We are going to be at least 12 people. My daughters volleyball team is meeting up for lunch with their families before we head to a local tournament. Now- We go to breweries ALL the time. We haven't really faced this issue before but: they only had 2 people working and had 2 really small ovens. They cannot handle the demand of people or food orders. It took about an hour for us to receive a mac and cheese, a pizza, an order of pierogi's and a quesadilla. My husbands food never hit the table (a chicken, bacon, ranch wrap.) Other families who ordered right after us- it took an hour and 20 minutes to get the food. Pizza- My family said it was ok Pierogi's- (potato & cheese) was there any cheese in it? A lot of potato (pro tip: ask for some liquid cheese served with the pretzels for dipping!) Mac & Cheese- they put nutmeg in it. my opinion: nutmeg doesn't belong in mac & cheese. quesadilla- (cheese) HUGE portion! extra crispy cheese on the edges. I like this style! Then... the line! This is the food ordering, beer ordering and bill pay line. My husband was in line for over 15 minutes to pay the bill. I actually don't even know exactly how long because I had to leave him there to pay while I got the kids to the tournament! It's got a decent location, good size, cool little outdoor area, cool art on the walls and their food was decent but they just can't handle a crowd. Underprepared.

Hubby reported his roast beef sandwich was great although the roast beef looked overcooked to me. What was dubious, however, were the French fries. They had a sort of mealy texture and a very odd taste--I thought they used coconut oil to fry but hubby thinks they coated them with baking soda, then fried. Either way I wasn't a fan.

The inside is charming and has that old wooden bar smell that I like. This would be a great place to grab a drink on a cold winter day. Very Scottish, lol. We were seated immediately for our 6:30 dinner reservation. We each ordered appetizers, which took nearly 45 minutes to arrive, even the cup of soup. Mozzarella sticks were nothing special, the cheddar tomato soup was really tasty. My mother in law loved the cock-a-leekie soup, and my father in law liked his scotch egg. It took another 20-25 minutes for our entrees to arrive. For a restaurant that closes at 8 pm, it was surprising at how long the food took to come out. They must have a very small kitchen. Everyone in our group liked their meal. My "loaded vegetarian baked potato" was just a full cup of sour cream and cheese on top of a potato with lukewarm broccoli on the side. A bit disappointing, with there were at least chives or seasoning. Basically nothing else vegetarian on the menu so this was what I was stuck with. Desserts were good, especially the sticky toffee pudding. I would call this place a step above average in the area, but service leaves a lot to be desired.
