Yeah, it's that higher end chain but this store bears little resemblance in terms of organization and display to other Gymborees I've visited. Even my seven year old daughter commented on the disarray saying it was like a garbage dump but with clothes not garbage. And this was on a quiet Monday afternoon. I can't day that I find the staff that friendly, but there is the odd decent sale and that kind of makes up for the lack of service. And one other thing. There are no dressing rooms. Sure, babies don't need to try on clothes but sometimes, it's helpful to have a place where say, a six or seven year old could try something on so you don't have to buy it and return it.

Someone from the Dartmouth location had the Halifax store hold an item for me. I brought my daughter to try it on, as she's very tall and thin and most companies don't make clothing that fits her. I asked where the fitting room was . . . and was told there wasn't one. My shy 10 year old had to try pants on behind a rack right in the store. Unbelievable and unacceptable. The staff were embarrassed that their location didn't have an appropriate changing area. I'm not sure if the company is to blame for this oversight, or the mall itself is responsible. All I know is I'll never, ever shop at the Halifax location again. If the Dartmouth store doesn't have the right size in the item I want, we'll simply look for something else.

Totally cute kids clothes at super reasonable prices. I got each of my favourite girls a super cute t-shirt that says, "My aunt (hearts) me" for $6 each. I picked up a gift for my cousins's little boy from my mom - a plaid dress shirt onesie in turqouise, blue and green that comes with the cutest little pair of khakis for $20. Huge selection, really cute stuff and affordable.

When I said I was due September 3rd, her response was a look, and then saying, "You still have THAT far to go?" I was really put off, and just shook my head, said a very sarcastic "Thanks" and walked away from her. I left without buying anything, which is a shame because they do have really cute things here for great prices. Salespeople, ESPECIALLY in this line of work should really know better than to make rude comments to expecting parents. I can certainly infer the translation of what she was saying to be "wow, you're huge and look like you are about to have the baby now!" Not helpful. I know I'm short and have popped quite a bit, but my doctor tells me I'm exactly the size I should be, so there, rude lady!

If you are shopping with a stoller, you may as well just turn around and walk right out. The isles are barely big enough for an adult to walk through by themselves, let a long with a big stroller. I mentioned my frurations with the employee and she said they get this complaint a lot but are not going to change their location. If they want the baby Mama's to shop in the stores, they have to be able to wheel their babies around in the stollers. They need to relocate to another store which is bigger.

I'll admit that I've bought the odd one or two purchases there for special occasions but can't imagine how anyone could afford to shop there on a regular basis. With winter coats, neck ties, polo shirts and shoes, they have a little bit of everything for every age group, including newborns. Towards the back of the store you'll sometimes find clearance racks, and fairly often they'll have other specials and promotions on in the store. Overall, a fun place to shop but steeply priced.

Kilts, scarves, ruanas, neckties, etc. in all kinds of tartans; cloak and kilt pins and other jewelry; funny bumper stickers, etc. And if you need anything warm, they've got you covered, with a great selection of sweaters, hats, mittens, etc. The woman on duty when we visited (maybe the owner?) couldn't have been more friendly and she gave us some good intel on the area, too.

There were wooden ornaments made by a couple on Halifax. There were woolen animals made by women in South America where the animals sale is their only source of income. Also, there are drinks from the UK. The shop is a lot of fun to browse, and the shopkeeper will provide additional information about your purchase if it's artisan. Definitely worth a stop as you walk down the pier!

I am greeted by the sweetest little pup of life. Digger, a soft ball of fur and playful puppy of 5…read moremonths, is the owner's pet and boutique doorman. Learning the ways of retail, his cuteness is the perfect way to begin this endeavor. What a sweet little shop. Although its been open for about ten years, I'd only recently learned of Wildflower from an acquaintance. Its confines are currently dressed in soft, breathable garments and assuring color palates. (Periwinkle, charcoal, rose pink, nude, and flecks of colour amongst it all!) Its actually a breath of fresh air, and a different variety from other independent boutiques in the area. I was elated to discover the accumulation of Free People frocks, which is probably my favorite [semi] affordable brand of all time. The owner mentioned that they would be getting more in soon-- whoo hoo! The overall stock seems romantic, flowing, and of excellent taste. Cute tops, rich fabrics and cuts are here for the taking. I think its safe to say that Wildflower has Bohemian Romantic down. The owner of the shop offered me genuine conversation and an easy shopping experience. I was the only patron at the time, so we chatted as I browsed. There was no pressure, no facade-- just good conversation and a shop full of wonders. After much swooning and chit-chat, I know this is a boutique I can dig. Besides the clothes, there were also some pretty neat accessories. I'd say the owner of Wildflower has a great eye. Understated, funky, classic and bohemian looks are all fused into one cohesive collection. All you need is a paycheck. xo

Really the only downside to Wildflower is the cost but check them out for their sale rack and accessories!
