What can I say about Del Taco other than I love it and I wish there were more of them around California! Living in NorCal we don't have them a dime a dozen like they do in SoCal but to be quite honest it's my favorite fast food spot! The food is so good! I mean where can you go for a burger, taco, fries, shake, chili fries, quesadillas, and dessert!? No where else has their variety! It just sucks eggs that people don't understand the deliciousness that del taco has to offer! Now is the service top notch!? Depends! But I don't go there for the service I go there for the food! The ambiance is a.... Come on people it's fast food there is no ambiance! lol If you're looking for good service that is top tier and ambiance then you don't need to be at a fast food restaurant! This was my first time trying Del Taco, and for a fast food chain, I was honestly pretty impressed. I usually go to Taco Bell when I want something quick and cheap, but Del Taco might be my new go-to. I ordered their $9 value deal, which came with a double cheeseburger, a bean and cheese burrito, a soft taco, crinkle-cut fries, and a fountain drink. It was a generous combo and a great way to try out a few different menu items. Ordering through the app was easy and smooth. By the time I walked in, my food was already ready. The staff was friendly, and the service was fast. The inside was clean and well-lit, and I noticed they were in the middle of building a play area for kids, like the kind you used to see at McDonald's. That's a nice touch for families who want to dine in. The soft taco ended up being my favorite item. The beef was well-seasoned, the tortilla was warm and held together nicely, and everything tasted fresh. The fries were also a pleasant surprise. They were hot and crispy, definitely above average for fast food. The bean and cheese burrito, though, was not my favorite. It was packed with a ton of refried beans, which is amazing for some people. But for me it was overwhelming and a bit too mushy. It also ended up being the messiest thing to eat in the meal. The burger was the weakest part by far. The patties were dry, the cheese wasn't melted, and the bun was cold and untoasted. I should have known better than to order a burger at a place called Del Taco. What made it even sillier was realizing there's an In-N-Out just 200 feet away. If I had been craving a real burger, that would've made more sense. Still, if I had to choose between Taco Bell and Del Taco, I'd go with Del Taco. I usually go to this location or Fairfield. The food is good in both. Great fries too. As much as I prefer a shorter distance, Pittsburg location has terrible help now. While they used to he very friendly, I have had the same super rude girl twice now. She speaks over you while you are ordering and then gets the order wrong . Trying to let her know leaves her wanting to fight . I ended up with no drink once and no tacos the other time . She is a young girl that works drive through in the afternoon . Finally, a voice crackled through--no greeting, no enthusiasm, just a deadpan "Wait." Oh, okay! I love waiting! I was there just the other night about 11ish and got food. I really hope that there is someone from the safety board reading this. So, 27 January 2026 @ about 11ish went through the drive through ordered food. Got to the window paid and waited for my food. As I sit there I see the person who is working the window cleaning machines with gloves on and then he walks up to get my food ready!! Believe me not, he didn't even remove his gloves and wash his hands before salting the french fries and putting my food in the bag. I saw his gloves wet with whatever chemicals on it touching everything . I didn't say anything just took my food and throw it away. I would like this place to take a look at your cameras and fire this guy. I'm a Del Taco die hard. First, the bad. A lot of Del Taco's bathrooms smell bad. No idea why, and this one is no different. Less one star. That said, this Del Taco's staff works hard and fast. I've been to this location three times in the last two years. The food is always excellent, and the service is always good to excellent. I had a complicated order today. Fish Taco meal, tortillas well done, fries well done, Veggie Works burrito no sour cream, donut bites but hold them until the end of the meal so I can have them hot. The staff nailed my order, no issues at all and the cook brought my donut bites to my table. I used to love del taco it tasted better and was not as pricey as Taco Bell. And the employees really seemed to value their job and customers. There aren't many locations of del taco in the bay area and it makes sense b/c del taco is a SoCal based brand. So to have Del Taco, its about a 45 - 50 minute drive. If's too bad that the Del Taco location in the Bay Area doesn't care about their customers, their jobs or their poor customer service. For this location, they've lost a customer (which probably doesn't mean much to them) ~ which is sad! I was charged double the amount of what my meal should have cost, and wasn't given a receipt either and after discovering the error, I contacted corporate right away. Both replies stated that the management of the restaurant would be contacting me and both times they did not. I eventually had the overcharge handled by my bank. Like I said, no one cares about their customers at this location. To double charge me for my order and not try to rectify it, is selfish and inconsiderate, especially after two complaints notifying corporate that no one had reached out. Its been a month since making my initial inquiry about the overcharge, and still no response has been received, and I even contacted them a second time and still no contact to refund my $$ read more

It's the only del taco in the Bay Area lol. My go to's are carne asada fries and a strawberry milkshake. Their milkshakes are more milky not not super sweet, which makes it better than in-n-out's, in my personal opinion. I like sometimes when there's little strawberry pieces. Even if some don't fit through the straw, always a good little thing to much on when finishing the shake part. I personally add a bunch of packets of hot sauce to the carne asada fries. It's so damn good. It's a good ratio of meat and not a crap ton of sour cream, so, all good. Wish there was more guacamole in it though. I also like the plant based epic burritos. If I don't feel like having meat, they're a great option. Just be careful to make sure you specify the vegan / plant based part since there are other meat offerings. For some reason when i go the line isn't long in the drive through, which is great, but also, I don't want the place to shut down cuz it's my go to place for a shake reward. Even when I just want something small, I just grab that $2 mini shake. Love it!!! (But i do usually get the regular size). Anyway, hope this helps out read more

I had just rode my bike super far and it was nice the staff was smiling and that made me smile even though I was all sweaty and had no energy on this scorching hot summer day. A man walked in when I was there, obviously a meth addict. It made me sad because he looked identical to a friend of mine who's a pro athlete. And I was just thinking about these guys, they look the same age, and the choices we make in life. When I went outside I saw his girlfriend sitting in the chair area outside. She appeared to be too high to handle going inside, she was acting so tweaky it made her boyfriend look sober in comparison. I noticed a lot of people were high on meth in this area, I was worried about my car big time. My bicycle was in the hatch area so all these tweakers were worrying me. So we thought we would try something different and tried del taco for the first time today for lunch. The drive through was fast and the gal helping us was very friendly, that's the 1 star. As for the food, unfortunately that gets negative stars! The chicken is all pressed meat, the burrito meat tastes like food you would get in the school cafeteria but worse! It tasted like canned chili. The crispy chicken and quac burrito was also pressed chicken and just full of lettuce. And who presses meat into the shape of a chicken strip and markets it as one?
