This review and rating is based on my recent customer service experience. The food is very tasty, and the service in the restaurant is pleasant and friendly. However, as I opened my order upon returning home, I discovered: 1) one item was missing, although it was listed on the receipt attached to the bag. 2) where I had ordered 2 enchiladas plates and 1 chicken fajita plate, I received 1 enchiladas and 2 chicken. When I called the restaurant, the woman answering the phone understood my concerns and explained that the person taking my order was new. ??? I responded, "Ok, mistakes happen, can I get the charge for missing item credited back to my credit card?" Long story shorter, she couldn't do that and I would have to drive 25 minutes back to the store to receive my original order (with a free dessert as apologies). For some unexplained reason she would not be able to credit my card. I was confused, she was confused and she stated she would call me back (presumably after speaking to a superior). NEVER called back. Willing to presume there are reasons why I wasn't called back like, no phone number, or lost my phone number? I went back, and upon further consideration I am downgrading to three stars. I ordered the the tortilla soup and it wasn't amazing. It was lukewarm, with fatty dark meat chicken that was more bones than meat. It had turnips, which are ok, but no potatoes (my personal preference). Also, I originally was told by a worker that they were open 24/7 (cool!) but it turns out it's only window service to go when it's late. I still think this is a cool spot. The best thing about this place is the fact they're open late. Other than that, their food is really mid. I've found their meats to be very dry and less flavorful than other Mexican spots nearby. Salsas sometimes have came separated, I think because they're either old or defrosted. You order from a window late hours and aren't able to access the inside, including bathrooms. Their parking lot is also locked for late nights. There are some tables and chairs if you decide to sit and eat. It's also very well lit. read more

Poor customer service. I ordered a quesadilla Suiza and it was supposed to have Pico de gallo in it. I picked up my order and went to work. Open up my plate and it was no pico de gallo in the quesadilla Suiza. I called the restaurant and spoke with the lady and she told me that next time I go to the restaurant but they will give me a little cup of pico de gallo because it wasn't in my quesadilla. Never said oh I'm sorry you can come back we can make you another one! Nothing like that at all. Just next time when you come back we'll give you a little cup of pico de gallo for you. Every time I stop by at an authentic Mexican food for the first time is to always tried their burrito. I would either order the super or jumbo burrito. I ordered their jumbo burrito with asada (steak). Everything else on the burrito was delicious, but except the asada. It was overcooked. I like my meat tender and rare on my burrito so I could taste some fat. Also the jumbo burrito was not as big I thought it would be. I had other super burritos with the same size. They do have Taco Tuesday for $1.00 pork and chicken only. Pupusas is another I would like to try. Overall they do have many selections on the menu which could deliver better. Absolutely amazing experience every time. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and made with care. I recently tried one of their newest menu items, the Birrieria Super Burrito, and it was incredible -- rich, savory, and packed with flavor. Los Gallos is my favorite Mexican chain, and this is because of the quality you get your money. My go to order is a super burrito, with asada protein. The killer move is Tacos on Tack Tuesday: they go for $1, so it's a must try. The service is always good, with chips also being added to your order. I was really looking forward to trying Taqueria Los Gallos, but my experience left much to be desired. First, we had to wait an unusually long time for our food to be ready. When it finally was served to us, I was disappointed to find that everything was cold. You would think if you make the customer wait 15 minutes or more that the food would be piping hot but it was not everything was cold. To make matters worse, the carne asada was barely there--just tiny pieces that felt more like an afterthought than a main ingredient. Almost as though I was eating a rice burrito. What a waste of money. I had high hopes for this place, because the taqueria Los gallos in Concord is excellent, but unfortunately, I can't recommend this location in Pittsburgh based on my experience. I wanted Mexican food and decided to give this place a try. It has its little parking section on the side. I really like that this place is open really late. The place is a pretty good size. Prices are reasonable some are pricey but some are okay. It was 3 of us and price was $49. They have self service chips and salsa. The salsa was pretty spicy there was really no mold. There's TV's so you can see games. The food took some time to get to us. I ordered an asada burrito that was supposed to come with guacamole but it did not have very much. Best variety of food. I've tried a few of their plates but you can't go wrong with the super burrito or any of the tacos. Great flavor and quality meat with a selection of salsas and condiments. Plenty of space and TV screens all over and arcade video games to distract the kids. The staff is really nice and attentive so this is my "go to" spot because of the great food AND it's open 24 hours. Burrito was disappointing and not what I asked for or paid for. The two slices of cake I ordered were ridiculous. I expected what was shown on their online menu. What I git was a sliver about a third of what was shown times two for $5 each. For $10 I could've got a whole cake! The last two times I've been here I have not had a great experience in regard to the food. This place use to be good but quality of food has gone down. I ordered an asada super burrito. For starters the beans were burnt and tasted old, and then the asada meat texture was more like carne deshebrada (shredded beef). Got my order togo and what a disappointment!! When you're so hungry and looking forward to good Mexican food, open the container and see some dry quesobirra tacos. They were very cold, not crispy at all, and barely no cheese. It looks like they were sitting out for a while. The shrimp tostada was just ok. Was really hoping this place was going to be my new favorite spot because we just moved to the area. And it's been hard to find good Mexican Food that we like. The place is really clean and nice inside. The food is pretty decent too. Walked inside recently with my family around 11pm because I seen somebody just sit down to eat. At the register they said no dine in available. After placing our order the guy asks me "For here or To Go". I laughed and was like "really? you just said we can't eat in here?" He then changed his mind and said we could dine in. But you could tell the staff was irritated with his decision. They locked us inside and we ate our meal. I ordered quite a bit of items because we wanted to try a variety of dishes. I noticed they only gave me 1 small salsa and a 1 very small bag of curtido for 2 Pupusa's. I asked politely if I could get another salsa during my meal. And one of the ladies seemed irritated that I wanted another one when the cashier asked her. We noticed we forgot drinks, so my brother tried to order some. Yet again it felt like we were being a burden. After spending $100 and leaving a generous tip. I asked the heavy set guy closing out the register, if I could get 1 more salsa and 1 more bag of curtido to go. Because I didn't finish my other pupusa. He was frustrated and was like "You know normally we charge extra for that?" I kindly told him "I have no problem paying extra." He grabbed me another salsa and bag of curtido. At this point I was so frustrated I placed another $5 on the counter and said "Sorry to inconvenience you. Here is the money for the extra salsa & curtido". When the heavy set guy lifted the door to let us out we tried to say thank you. But we receive no response, because he just wanted us out of there. I don't expect to be treated special by any means. However it would have been nice to been treated as a paying customer. And not feel like we were being a burden. It sucks because this place is really close the my new house.
