Recently, the shared side-fence with my neighbor broke down and needed to be replaced. My house to the fence was about 9'6" and my neighbor was about 10'6" which was about 6 inches more than mine. I asked the fence person who I contracted to correct that during installation but he told me that I needed to go to the city to get an approval. I went to the city and I was told that I needed to hire a professional land surveyor to confirm the measurement first which would cost a few thousand dollars. During installing my back fence, Kevin decided that my original back-fence was over the neighbor's space by about 10" so he changed it. I was naive at that time and didn't challenge him. He had no authority to do that but he did it to favor my back neighbor who contracted him. read more

Delamore Fencing recently replaced our flimsy Big Box rear fence, blown down by the Christmas morning storm, and old, termite-ridden and broken fencing on both property lines. The company had replaced a former neighbor's fence several years ago, so I was aware of the work product and reached out Delamore Fencing for a proposal. After walking the project on site, Kevin asked if we wanted the same flimsy fence or a REAL fence. He provided a detailed competitive proposal for a real fence, including share amounts for our three neighbors who joined in the project, which totalled 238 feet of new fence, a portion on sloped grade. Scope of work included removal and disposal of the old fence, all new posts, a new fence with board-on-board construction and lattice top, and three new gates. Work began a week after we accepted the proposal and concluded four days later. The work crew was punctual, friendly, and made a difficult job look easy. The resulting fence is certainly a REAL fence in that it is attractive, durable, and, as we and the neighbors agree, a significant improvement to our properties. Delamore did some repairs to fences that I share with two different neighbors. We had fences where the panels were OK, but some posts were getting a bit wobbly. We had Delamore replace the posts. In both cases they seem to have simply pulled the old post out and then pushed the new post into the old concrete. Two years later the new posts are as wobbly as the ones they replaced. When one neighbor asked Delamore to come by and look at the work, he simply offered comments about the new materials available today aren't as good as they used to be and that the fence was past the warranty period. A few years ago I had my handyman replace two posts in another part of my yard, and when he did the job, he BROKE OUT some (all?) of the old concrete and then poured new concrete around the new post. Those posts are still ROCK SOLID. Delamore may be fine for a new fence, but I would never hire them to do repairs again. read more

I hired Kevin Delamore to replace my back fence about 5 or so years ago. You would think that with big 6x6 posts, the fence should last a minimum of 25 years, probably even longer. But now all the posts are starting to fail, and the fence is leaning. I just had another fence company estimator come out to take a look, in order to get a repair quote. I asked him why the posts were failing so soon, and he said the cement, which is cracked and crumbly, wasn't done correctly, and very likely the posts weren't set deep enough, either He said it was a poorly done job that was destined to fail. Well, it did just that. At the time Delamore did my fence, one of my neighbors apparently noted Delamore's name on his truck, and then, unbeknownst to me, hired him a while later to do a section of his fence, too. Big mistake. About a year ago, I noticed that section had completely collapsed, and the neighbor had to get another fence company to repair it. Well, what a surprise. His fence didn't even last 5 years!! Looks like Delamore's poor construction wasn't limited to just my fence. Delamore was probably laughing all the way to the bank, but at our expense. And did I mention that when he constructed the fence, he got a lot of concrete splashed on some of the posts and fence boards? Looks pretty ugly, even now. I don't know if Delamore is the worst fence company in Santa Clara County, but if it isn't, it's close enough. If Delamore puts your fence up, it won't be up for long. , read more

Kevin, the business owner of Delamore Fencing, came after waiting 2 weeks on the scheduled appointment day/ time, April 30th, 430 pm First Unprofessionalism, Ill- Mannered, Rude Attitude## 1. Kevin came abruptly at 405 pm instead of scheduled 430pm. 2. Kevin didn't even APOLOGIZE AND mention to come in early and if Mayank Shringi is even available (since I had a work meeting ongoing at that time, an engineering TEAMS meeting) and I had to drive in RUSH from my OFFICE on the North First Street, San Jose. 3. Kevin lacked all professionalism on the EARTH , FULL lack of respect, and lack of courtesy. 4. Kevin was very arrogant from the limited time he spoke, although nothing insulting me, but the entire behavior and presentation + communication skill sets were SUPER RUDE AND ILL MANNERED NO SMILE ON HIS FACE EITHER, Jeez, very bad and negative perspective business owner !! 5. Our neighbor's house was recently robbed and the thieves came in through the side gate. I had been needing some new gates so this motivated me further. Another friend had used Delamore for fencing so I called and the owner Kevin came out the same day. He recommended making the gates taller and he also recommended a digital lock. Kevin came back out a couple of days later and completed the gates in one afternoon! I ordered the digital locks and he came back out again to install those as well, included in the price. He later came out to repair the problem, but his repair did not work, and immediately I told him that. I later discovered that his crew had not clearly identified both sides of the cut, so he spliced the wrong wires. I was not present when the cut was first identified, and I was not observing him when he attempted to repair this problem. Delamore Fencing - Downed fence due to poor installation. - Fences & Gates Near Me - San Jose, California

I have used your company for 2 fence projects and both those fences are having issues (2/2016 and 6/2018). My other fence installed by another company in 2008 has lasted longer. I had another fence installer come out to quote the bad sections and he mentioned that this installation was done poorly. He mentioned that these sections were the largest/tallest and should have not been so long. Also, it looked like the posts were incorrectly set and were poured with 4x4 holes instead of 4x6 holes. The top formation cement was poured at a 2nd time after the post was set which is shown in the picture which is why the formation broke away. You can also see the post rotting away between the 1st and 2nd layer of cement. Reached out to Hugh and would not come and look at fence. Said they do not warranty work and do not do repairs. Only do new fences. Beware of rotting posts that are not installed correctly! read more

Six years ago, I had Delamore do two sides of my yard. In six years, 5 posts have failed on one side. My fence is now leaning at risk on falling. Of course, the fence is now out of warranty. Delamore claimed moisture but the cement posts have remained above the soil line and there is no rot seen above ground on my posts. Delamore claimed the moisture comes from under the cement grounding. Which it shouldn't. They cement was used to keep moisture away from the posts. The one side of the fence that they did not replace is just fine and it is about 20 years old. read more

I recently had my side fence completed by this company. Workmanship I would give them a 5 star, but customer service by their crew can be improved. The crew did arrive promptly on time, but they did not introduce themselves. To top it off, none of the crew members had a mask on. They do know we are in a pandemic? They could have at least put on a mask when they were asking me questions. Also, the inspector nor the office staff informed me that their crew would be needing access to a power source. Therefore, I was scrambling in the morning looking for extension cords since I had not been told in advance. It would have been much appreciated if I had been told beforehand. Before the crew started working, I asked their crew leader if he could show me the gate hinges he would be installing since I had spoken to someone in the office with a specific type I had wanted. I told him I would be inside the house working. I assumed he would come by and show me the new gate hinges before installing them but he never did. When the work was completed the crew did clean up within the boundary of the properties, but they did not sweep the mess they made on the sidewalk or the street. There was saw dust from the boards they were bringing down from their truck. Overall good work, just minor issues that can be improved on. read more

Around 4 yrs. back I had https://delamorefence.com/ replace the fence on all sides of my house. Recently a big portion of my side fence fell to the neighbor's side during the winds. While examining the damage it came to my attention that many of the posts for that side of the fence have no concrete in the foundation. This would be the reason for that part of the fence not being able to withstand the wind. Waited for 10 days to have them come and inspect the damage which I expected to be covered by their warranty as stated on the website. Their website states under the warranty section, Warranty We provide a standard limited 5-year warranty on all material and labor. Upon request, our office staff will provide a detailed written definition of exactly what it covers. When asked during the inspection about the warranty, Kevin basically said it is conditional. No idea what he meant when it is clearly stated as a 5 yr. warranty for materials and their work. They sent a high estimate for the repair with no consideration for the warranty. I would never go with this company again as they are not honest about how they advertise their job on their website. They lack Quality workmanship and honesty. read more

I requested a quote on the REQUEST QUOTE link of their website. I was very clear what I was looking for which was going to be a simple HOG FENCE GATE for my driveway. I NEVER got a quote sent to me from my request. After not hearing from them for about a week, I placed a call to the department that provides the quote and I got a call back BUT the caller didn't leave a message for me. I placed a second call and still no response from this company. I had previously worked with MEZA fences for a different fence I needed in my back yard and what a contrast between MEZA and Delamore fence companies. MEZA was extremely professional and quick to get me a quote. The only reason I called Delamore for a quote was because MEZA doesn't do the hog fences. read more

4-star materials 1-star communication (Hugh) 3-star workmanship I shopped around for side fence quotes (Delamore, Fence Man, PL, Meza's), and pricing was all pretty similar. Kevin came out for the measurement and quote, and while he kept things very brief, everything sounded good. One-day job, just make sure nothing is attached to the old fence, etc. Delamore stood out for me because they use select common grade redwood instead of construction (con) common. When I called the office to schedule installation, I was told Hugh would be taking care of my order. As instructed, I emailed him a signed scan of the invoice. After two weeks without hearing from him, I called Hugh, and he said he never received my email, so I sent it again. PG&E came to mark service lines so nothing would get disrupted by the fence installation. Because I hadn't been given any advance notice, my gate was locked, and PG&E couldn't get into the back yard. After a call from Hugh, I got the gate unlocked, but I never heard back from him whether PG&E had returned to complete the task. I called him the next day, and Hugh thought he had the all-clear, but he'd need to check his email and get back to me. (Spoiler: he never did.) Installation day came, and the team of workers arrived and started. They asked to borrow an electrical outlet from the garage (fine) but then just helped themselves to my garden hose (in the process breaking my hose reel). Mid-afternoon, the fence frame was up, they loaded the debris into their truck, and the yard went silent. Because they hadn't said a single word about leaving, I assumed they were dumping the waste and coming back to hang the fence boards. Around 5pm, I called Hugh to ask if his team was coming back to finish. He told me that they would need to come back in the morning to finish--that he had forgotten to inform me that Kevin told him it would be a day-and-a-half job. I get a shallow apology, like it's some minor detail. 1. My next-door neighbors and I had NO FENCE overnight. Nothing to keep people out of our back yards, let alone separate the two yards. 2. My neighbors had to keep their dog indoors overnight (and a second morning), because there was no fence to keep the dog in the yard either. 3. I had spent a PTO day to be home during the fence work, yet I still wouldn't be able to be present for the work's completion. Anyway, the fence got finished (and again, the workers left without any notice). The team left a mess behind, including debris on and next to the driveway, and extra mixed concrete in the back yard. Overall the fence looks decent, but the gate is disappointing. It's board-on-board, but with no trim at the top or bottom, it looks pretty cheap. There's no handle on either side of the gate, so I'm going to have to buy and add those myself. I wish Kevin or Hugh or the workers would have checked with me about the gate style (beyond round-top/square-top). I guess it shouldn't be surprising that Hugh doesn't do or supervise the work himself... but if his role is to communicate as the liaison between the workers and the customer, why was communication so poor throughout the process?
