Its hard to find a place to develop your film and usually you have to resort to walgreens, cvs,etc. And in my experience the photos there always come out badly. I started taking my film to delaware camera and I haven't had anything to complain about. They devolop the film super well and the prints are great too. I have been a small time photographer since 1979 and through the years have done business with Delaware Camera. I have never had a bad experience with them, their customer service has always been helpful and courteous. I like to be able to support local businesses in my area, but also need to be business smart for myself, I have found them on many occasions to work with me on the price of camera equipment to help me keep my overhead at a minimum and to turn a profit. read more

This may be very specific, but this is the *only* place in Buffalo that I could find to shoot Canadian immigration photos. Five other retailers said they could not make the photos in the correct spec and it was a "Sure - No problem" at this place. The staff was nice and payed careful attention to what was required. Stopped into your Buffalo location over the weekend wanted to price compare my purchasing of a Nikon D7500. I am new to purchasing a digital camera so i had some questions. Well as i had adressed my want to purchase this product i was abruptly told this item and the less expensive alternative a D3500 also was not available. I attempted to ask questions, i asked regarding a memory card and was told "I dont know what your talking about" with that being said i told the associate "i will come some other time" as i saw i was getting nowhere! So here i am today with my newly purchased Nikon D7500 which did not come with a memory card, so i reviewed what was best and again ordered outside your bussiness...What a shame that i wanted to shop more local and less corporate, but the lackadaisical behavior of someone made my shopping experience turn elsewhere, let it be known i even asked about classes again quickly dismissed. Mark was awesome to deal with... I purchased a Nikon DSLR a couple of years ago and found the service and advice to be spot on for my needs. I needed to call a few times for help and was always greeted with friendly, great advice. Flash forward to today... I wanted a s9100 nikon for travel. This is discontinued and I purchased online what I thought was a new one. When it arrived it was a refurbished one!. My credit card company required an expert opinion on the camera by a professional. Mark immediately agreed to help me with it. Without Mark the money was gone! It is great to have such a great resource locally. Delaware Camera will continue to be my store of choice. In the future I will stay with Delaware Camera & Video. I will leave the online aggravation for others. read more

I took 2 beginners DSLR Photography classes (Aperture/shutter priority and manual classes) here and they were absolutely wonderful!. Each one hour class provided the just the right amount of information, photo examples, and practicing with our own cameras to help be better understand how to use my camera. I've tried reading tutorials online, but i was never able to quite grasp how aperture, shutter speed, and iso all tie in together. Our instructor Sarah, was very enthusiastic and helpful in telling us how to better customize our photos. I would definitely consider taking more classes in the future if they offer any new ones. read more

I've known about Delaware Camera & Video for a very long time. Before I went there routinely, I used M & W Camera Center & Color Lab for my photographic equipment. They were based at 1408 Hertel Avenue, Buffalo NY, 14216. That was before cameras were digital. That shop is no longer in business in 2016. [ It's a local coffee bistro now: SPOT Coffee. ] Whenever I've gone to Delaware Camera, I have ALWAYS been treated with respect by the people that work there, now matter how small or large the problem has been. I used their services while M & W was in business as well, with the same result: respect, a kind face, and knowledgeable answers to my questions. They still do color print film developing: [ I used that part of their services last week, ( today is July 25, 2016. )] They sell some film, as well. If you need a digital camera, memory cards, lighting kits, accessories like camera bags, they can sell you those, too. [ Bought a memory card or two, and batteries, also. ] In short, when in Buffalo NY, go to Delaware Camera & Video, on Delaware Avenue. The positive vibe? The last reviewer was not at the same store I was. I had a problem with a cameral, which I purchased from Delaware Camera. I went to the store for repair. The guy (the one with the ridiculous mustache) was rude and dismissive. All he wanted to do was sell me a new camera. I had a problem with another camera months later. I went to their other location in hopes of getting a different salesman. Guess what, he was there too! He was just as rude as he had been at the first location. His suggestion . . . . . try charging the battery! Why hadn't I thought of that?!?!? He was rude yet again and just wanted to sell me a new camera. I am DONE with Delaware Camera! read more

I recently completed the 3 session class and it was well worth the money and time. I have taken beginner courses in past years that were not close to this the amount that was offered in this series. The instructor, Vicente, is clearly passionate about sharing his knowledge of photography and tailors the information to what your interests/needs are for taking the class. read more

They are so helpful and generous! The final print looks so incredible and identical to my proof. They even gave me a free mess up prints bc the color was slightly off, even though most people they wouldn't notice the difference. They still re-printed it and gave me the "bad copy." So easy to get prints made there and then just pick up when they're done. read more

I have a small collection of working antique cameras that I have always wanted to use but didn't know much about. This place was such an amazing help! The employee who helped me was very patient and extremely knowledgeable. The customer service here was extremely commendable! I'm sure that I will be returning soon! read more

I recently took in some negatives to have made into prints. They were old negs -- some were pictures of pictures -- for my mom's funeral. We settled on an 8x10 of some of the prints and a couple smaller ones as well. When I got them back I was shocked at the poor quality. Granted they were old, but on at least one of the negative strips there were pieces of dust that I removed and they obviously weren't looked at or dusted before run through their system. One print of 3 people showed the two outer people and the middle person was almost blacked out. When I complained it was run through again and was still so dark it couldn't be used. I said I was very disappointed in the quality of the work and the clerk just shrugged his shoulders. Out of the lot -- at $60 -- one of the small pics was useful. I'll never use this business again. Obviously their care for their clients is not a priority. read more
