We were seated at 8:15 p.m. for the six-course tasting menu. The portions were extremely small--many were only one or two bites--and the waits between the early courses felt excessive. Although the restaurant had only about four occupied tables out of more than twenty, the pacing was surprisingly slow. The main course wasn't served until 9:52 p.m., just minutes before the restaurant's 10:00 p.m. closing time. After that, the final two courses arrived in quick succession, making the ending of the meal feel rushed. The food itself was simply okay. While it was well presented, none of the dishes stood out as particularly memorable, and the beef course--the one we were most looking forward to--was served lukewarm, which was very disappointing. One thing that surprised us was that during our entire visit, we never saw a front-of-house manager or a kitchen manager checking on guests. Even after our server apologized for the delays, no member of management stopped by our table. At this price point, I would expect management to be actively engaged in ensuring guests are having an exceptional experience. We don't mind paying $115 per person for a fine dining tasting menu when the food and experience justify the price. Unfortunately, between the inconsistent pacing, very small portions, lukewarm entrée, and flavors that were merely average, this experience did not meet those expectations. The service from our server was the highlight of the evening, but overall, we left disappointed and feeling that the experience did not provide the value we expected.

I attempted to work with them to remedy the situation, but they were unwilling to remove even a small amount of the extra charges that I would personally have to pay, despite already having received hundreds more than they should have been paid from both myself and my insurance. My experience with Veritas Dental has greatly injured my trust in dentists, and you should go elsewhere if you want to avoid being used for money.

So when a girlfriend chose Speck Italian Eatery for girls' dinner, I was ready. Italian food is one of my first loves. I was expecting good food, a good atmosphere, and frankly, a little "this is where everybody is trying to be seen" energy. And on that front? Speck delivered. The space is airy and attractive, the atmosphere was lively, and despite the seating being a little tight, our table toward the back had plenty of room. My girlfriend had been raving about the focaccia, so obviously we had to test the theory. Housemade focaccia with olive oil and sea salt? Yes, ma'am. We shared a few things, including the Crudo--hamachi, blood orange, Castelvetrano olives, fennel, and basil--and the Gem, a crunchy vegetable salad with pistachio, Parmesan crumb, and vinaigrette. Our waiter deserves a shoutout because when it came time to settle up, he was gracious enough to split the shared dishes down the middle for both the portions and the bill. That's good service. For my entrée, I ordered the Cacio e Pepe--except this version uses gnudi, peppercorn, and pecorino. It was good enough that I immediately thought about the beau, who loves cacio e pepe, so half went home with me. I also ordered another focaccia to go. And naturally, I had my Peroni while I was there. So here's where my Italian grandmother's spirit entered the chat. The food wasn't bad. The value is what lost me. For a pescatarian dinner, I felt like the portion sizes and prices didn't quite meet in the middle. Maybe I'm spoiled. I've eaten Italian food made by grandmothers and grandfathers in Little Italy, New Orleans, and Italy itself. My girlfriend also had a basic Pomodoro pasta, around $17, which means the two of us were already north of $100 before drinks on her side, dessert, and my 20% tip. For two people. Sunday, July 10th. A gospel preaching church!…read more Everyone was really nice and welcoming. They were genuinely nice and caring. I would love to go back! The nursery was big, well staffed and looked like fun. Lots of kids! Good for young and not so young people. The message was so good, true and I learned a lot about Gods character through the pastor. I liked that he preached on what we can do in these current times with all of this tragedy/killing going on around us. They had coffee which was so nice. It's inside of a school which was different but until they get a building that's where it will be. It's a nice set up though, I didn't feel like I was in a school. My Mother in law and I visited Veritas this morning for the 11 am service. My brother in law and his family go to Veritas. Thank you.
