The Artisan Pizza Purist's Hideout Picked up two pizzas to go: the Poblano/Sausage Special and a good ol' Pep and Sausage. I was ready to also try a sub... but no dice. They hadn't gotten their sub rolls in, and I actually appreciate that they didn't just hand me a "sub" on a hot dog bun and hope I wouldn't notice. Beer selection? Okay. I wanted a crisp Kolsch, but life threw me a curveball and I had to settle for a Pilsner. It's fine, I'm adaptable... at least when beer is involved. The pizza itself? Fantastic--crispy, flavorful, and clearly crafted by people who take their pizza rules seriously. This is an artisan shop, and they're not shy about it: one pizza size, no more than 3 toppings, and absolutely no subs when the bread gods have not blessed the delivery truck. Service was great, price was fair--definitely not bargain-bin, but not "sell a kidney" territory either. I'll be back... probably with a backup Kolsch in my trunk, just in case. read more

We were At Mohio's a few weeks ago on a Saturday at 5:30 PM. We tried to place a carry out order. We were told by one of the wait staff that carryout is never offered on Subs. However carryout is offered on pizzas. He stated on that particular night they were low on dough and we couldn't get a carry out on a pizza either. My boyfriend wears hearing aids and the loud atmosphere is disconcerting to him. That is why we would prefer carry out. Long story short . . . . Your food is delicious and if we were able to order carry out we would be regulars at your establishment every Saturday. read more

This place is a GEM! If they delivered I'd probably go bankrupt. They have a concise menu and make every single item extremely well. My only complaint is they need a bigger location if they are going to be putting out food that good. Parking is a hot mess so id recommend coming early to find a spot. Service is always spot on. Mohio needs to treat our elders better. My mom is in her seventies and has been a regular at Mohio for some time. She brought a friend with her as a guest last week at 5 p.m. on a weeknight. Only a few customers were there, and she and her friend opted to eat on the patio, which was empty. The host instructed them to eat at a two-top, which there is only one with regular chairs, and it's right by the front door. So, knowing they weren't staying long, they moved to a slightly larger table. The waiter refused to serve them water on a hot night. My mom then sought out the manager who refused to make eye contact with her. When she and her friend left, his parting line was, "You will not be missed." An hour later, two younger women were sitting alone on the patio - at a four-top table. Do better Mohio. We had planned an actual get together with a couple of friends. We planned on meeting up at Staas for a couple of beers, but we knew we would be hungry. Pre-COVID Staas would have food trucks in the evening. But this is post-COVID and we do not need a reminder that our world is different. Staas currently was not having food trucks*. So we pivoted and decided to try Mohio Pizza. We had never had their pizza before. I called to make sure that they took to go orders and they assured me they did. The day of our get together came and I called to pre-order our take out pizzas. Even though there were only four of us, but we knew we wanted to get a good variety of the pizzas they offered, so we ordered up 4 different pies. The pizzas were ready at the quoted time. We walked them over to Staas and they smelled delicious. As we laid the pies out on the table to be able to serve ourselves family style, we began to get super excited. Not only were the aromas mouth watering, but the pizzas looked delicious with just the right amount of char. We had ordered Pepperoni, Rosa, Soppressata Ricotta, and Mushroom and Cheese (a white pizza). I tried them all and they were scrumptious. What I first noticed was the dough. Mohio's pizza dough is phenomenal. I would order it again, just because of the perfect dough. And the char does not overbear the other flavors, it complements it. The tomato sauce tastes fresh. I honestly wonder if they make it in house. The garlic is garlic, but not in your face. It is the perfect balance. The Mushroom and Cheese pizza is a white pizza, but it is perfect. It may have been my favorite. I can not wait to go back because I have to try their Margherita pizza, I bet it is pure perfection. I highly suggest a pint at Staas with a to go pizza from Mohio next time you are in Delaware. You will not be disappointed. *After talking to Donald, one of the owners of Staas, he mentioned that they purposely do not have food trucks currently. His thought is it encourages his patrons to support locals restaurants in the area if they want food with their beers. And that is exactly what we did, we supported a local restaurant while having a beer at Staas. What a thoughtful decision by Staas. read more

Little known secret: they have a back patio. Popped in there for a late dinner on a Friday night - they've got a good setup, socially distant, masks. Service was spot on - fast and attentive. The menu is tight - it's not overblown, it's not 59 options to pick from - it's a small selection and that means it's consistent and they know it. First off, they were out of meatballs, which I was bummed about. It sounded delicious. The Caesar salad was simple, and peppery (which I loved - fresh cracked pepper!) The pizza - margarita - it's a thin crust, and not overdone with toppings. It's just simple, crispy, and delicious. In writing this, I already want to go back. The beer selection is small - like... eight beers? But you're surrounded by bars and breweries, so if they can't sate your palate, you have options to check out before/after! We recently discovered MOHIO after an impromptu strole through downtown Delaware with the kiddos. I highly recommend MOHIO for scratch made pizzas both traditional and inventive. The sausage poblano with a sprinkle of Sriracha powder was just as excellent as the kids' more mainstream sausage and pepperoni. Plus, you can taste how the salads and meatball starter are housemade and very tasty. Looking forward to going back on Wednesdays to try their house smoked wings. read more

Just a fabulous oven fired craft pizza-- the Mortadella and Soppressata pizza are perfection! The Italian meatballs are hearty and the kale salad pairs well with anything on the menu. Dine in service is clean/pleasant/relaxed, the bar tender attentive and take away is super fast (20 mins). The food quality for value make this my favorite "go to" pizza in town. Pizza and drinks, all great, good price, and great ambiance in the place, generally ebbing and flowing with people, we got a great table at the front inside and enjoyed ourselves. We are in town one week a year for Ironman, but somehow missed this one the past few years. Today asked a local for recommendations, and she says she eats here every Friday night! That's all I needed to hear, so we headed in for lunch. My husband and I shared the kale salad and we split the pepperoni pizza with our 4-year-old. Absolutely the best pizza in town. Fresh ingredients, lovely kale salad, beautiful interior and very chill atmosphere. They had a great selection of craft beers and a large, stocked bar. I finally had an opportunity to take my wife to Mohio over the weekend, and we were not disappointed. They usually are not open for lunch, but the big Delaware Car Show was on Saturday and they apparently open up for things like that. My wife decided it was a good time for some day-drinking, so she stared off with a cocktail. She ordered the "perfect pear" - a concoction of gin, pear infused simple syrup, ginger, and lillet blanc. Our waitress was also the bartender who came up with all their unique cocktails, so we got all the details. I tried it and it was very good...and strong. We each then had the half-caesar salad. It's not tossed greens from a bag, but is actually half of a small head of romaine lettuce that is dressed and served with a single crouton. Nice and fresh. Next came the wife's second drink, the "strawberry basil sour" made with a basil and berry infused simply syrup, gin, and some other stuff. Also yummy. Time it takes to make their pizza and get a table was not so good especially since it didn't seem like they were super busy. Like others I felt like there was a pretty long wait almost estimating an hour. Meatballs and drinks however, we're out very quickly. Must be an operational kitchen issue. Atmosphere was very nice! My in-laws are in town from Arizona and we decided to take them to downtown Delaware since they have only been a few times. We decided to try Mohio since, who doesn't like pizza? :) We absolutely enjoyed it! They have 11" small pizzas, so we each got our own and all 4 of us, and then my 2 year old son LOVED their pizzas! Everyone, besides myself finished their pizzas! And just to note, not that I didn't want to finish mine! I just wasn't physically able to do so! :) The atmosphere is relaxed; indoor/outdoor seating, right in the center of Downtown Delaware. They have a great beer selection and a full bar. Since it was a tuesday evening, after Labor Day, it was quiet and seemed slow. But, the waitress was very friendly and helpful. I got the rocket pizza, my husband got the sausage poblano, my mother in law got the Rosa and my father in law got one he made with his own toppings and again, we had zero complaints and a lot of compliments!
