A fun adventures day rafting the Leigh River. Rapids were class 2-3 not too scary. Instructor were good in directing where to go and went over safety protocols. Was a bit disappointed tho because when I checked in on Yelp I was supposed to get a free picture and they didn't take one of our raft!!

I've been going here for a few years now and I absolutely love it. The guides are what really make the experience wonderful. They're always fun. I've always been treated extremely well by them.

What a thrill and a amazing wow factor! If your up for the challenge definitely check out Whitewater Challengers and have a fantastic Whitewater rafting experience. So I was hesitant at first but I was glad to join a group of friends at the Poconos for an adventure of a lifetime. The staff at Whitewater Challengers were all nice. Check in was easy, our group leader basically confirmed all of our attendance and we were then giving life jackets and escorted via bus to the river. Once we arrived at the rafting site, we each picked a boat and was off to sail the seas for 5 hours. A half hour was spent eating lunch. The experience was awesome in the river and I felt safe knowing that staff was traveling around us in separate canoes just to make sure that we were okay. Overall the rapids were a big thrill, the views of the mountains were breathtaking and the water gun fights had me reliving my childhood. If your into outdoor activities like camping, paintball and whitewater rafting check out Whitewater Challengers and have the time of your life!!

My friend group! Sid is the guy all the way in the back doing to the bear claw (ask him what it means)

Yeah... my friend group was THAT group...we tipped over and fell into the water... BUT it was epic and we had NO regrets! All the staff are very friendly and everything seems very organized! This was our first time ever rafting and honestly we were pretty scared! But our instructor made the whole experience very safe and smooth! Also be careful, you will get WET and ur clothes will stink afterwards! Also invest in some water shoes they are a lifesaver! Our guide, Sid, was the BOMB! Without him the rafting trip would've been NOT worth the money! He was SUPER nice and was really funny! He made us feel really comfortable and made our trip really amazing! He even taught us about the history of the river and showed us a lot of really beautiful waterfalls! Even when our raft tipped over and the majority of us fell out, he stayed calmed and managed to rescue us very swiftly! So if you didn't get the point already... you should DEFINITELY get this guy as your guide! PS. The waters were the HIGHEST they have ever been on the day we went! (Which is probably why we tipped over) The waters are usually really really calm! Also this review is for FAMILY STYLE RAFTING! We paid 44.50 per person!

This is an awesome rafting place . I had a group of 5 people and we went in one raft. It was very nice the river has many rocks but it made it fun and our raft was going fast. We had 2 guides and it's good to have them because in case anything happens like any one falling of raft they are there. They also gave us cues to when to make certain turns in river because it is rocky river . One thing Is you can't wear crocks . You need sneakers or swimmer shoes . I ended up buying swim shoes which U can buy at their store for 12.99$ the whole trip is 5 hours long but super fun. You get one stop and u can swim there. It's very scenic. There is a photographer who takes pics of the rafts too. And it's 13.95$ for 2 pictures. Great times and lots of rapids .

Jordan and Kirk who are the guides are the best part of this adventure. They were enthusiastic, friendly and professional. They both deserve raises and promotions for making sure we were safe and trying to have a best possible time ever. We thank them for their great service on the day we went June 28, 2020. They made the adventure. I would recommend if you do this, have Jordan and Kirk lead your group.

I took two of my teen girl scouts to one of WWC scout weekends. The facilities were very well maintained. They have a new shower house with about 12 private shower rooms. They have a flush toilet house and a compostable toilet house. Both were clean. Their camp store had a lot of supplies such as fire wood, great fire starters and water shoes (for those who forgot theirs.) There is a snack bar as well. It even sells coffee for those who need a fix in the morning. The site was amongst trees and was well maintained. We had a large area for our tent. It was easy to set up on despite arriving in the dark. They had a night worker who rode around on golf cart until 2am. She came by and introduced herself and checked in periodically. I felt very comfortable and found the whole staff helpful. The white water rafting was very organized. The staff was very knowledgable and attentive. We were upgraded to the level 2-3 rapid experience. We were nervous at first since the boats usually run with 4-7 riders and we were only a boat of 3. My teens are petite. The guides continuously checked in with us and made sure we were doing well. We had a fabulous time! We had no trouble navigating the rapids. I would HIGHLY suggest White Water Challengers!! I have been to other tubing/rafting outfitters and WWC was my nest experience so far.

We had two terrific days. Cycling Saturday and rafting sunday. I was thoroughly impressed with the organization of their operations from entry to the parking lot through the check-in and departure on the shuttle to the cycling trailhead. Our driver Joe Z, was excellent in explaining the best places to stop along the route and exactly where to go for our pickup. Same excellent organization for our rafting. Our guides gave us the confidence that We would be in good hands on the river. We took the family float as this was our first experience as a family. We had great time and felt very comfortable. Our guides were terrific. Bob, Bob, Kerron, and Brandon. Bob inspired me to buy a harmonica when I get home today.

However, I am confused on why they don't offer helmets especially with how many rocks there are. Our guide, Jake did openly swear at one of the customers for hanging onto his kayak, I understand it can be chaotic when people fall into the water and other people are frantically trying to get them back on the raft but it is very unprofessional in my opinion to be openly cursing at people for no reason. It could also be their first time rafting, and to have someone curse at you your first experience is not a good look. I also want to note the other guides were super helpful, it was just that one moment I noticed that threw me off!

Last time we did…read moredam release which was fun (although I wish they'd let you out once to swim- you get hot doing all the work!); this time we brought some younger family and tried the easier family rapids- which ended up being more fun than we thought it would be. It was pretty much a 4 hour water gun fight (you must rent the water cannons- essential) with swim spots too, and the hot dog/pbj lunch was a sufficient and quick re-fuel. The staff was all nice, and the other families really getting in on the water gun fights made it fun (the pirates really only attacked the middle of the group on our trip- but they did interact while waiting to leave). The only thing I was disappointed in was that last time they gave us a heads up on where the picture would be taken, and this time they did not. Two of our group members had a photo of the back of their heads, which stinks, because I like to get the photo. Other than that, really nice day.

Our guides Meghan, Jack and Ely made this a very memorable experience. Their professional attitude, experience knowledge and customer interaction were outstanding to say the least. After checkin you are provided with fitted life vests and then given a 15 minute safety lecture regarding raft safety and etiquette. After a 20 minute bus ride to the entry point, you enter the raft and proceed down the Lehigh River. Amazing picturesque scenery with mild rapids for the family style tour. Several areas along this 8 mile adventure they allowed swimming. water was cold (60 ish) but refreshing. At the midway point an unexpected complimentary lunch was provided consisting of Hot Dogs, PB&J sandwiches, Chips, Macaroni Salad, Fruit and drinks. Very good selection and served by another great crew. Very clean and well organized. I would highly recommend Pocono Whitewater. Super clean bathrooms, newly added changing rooms, foot washing station, gift shop and very well priced snack bar including beer. Can't wait to return. Unless you are medically unfit, you can do this. Exceptional customer service sums up the team at Jim Thorpe River Adventures (aka LOC). They are extremely well organized which makes for a great trip. Everyone from the moment you enter LOC until the very end was polite, professional and wanted to make sure you have a great time. Some tips to follow: you only need to arrive 15 minutes before your group time, this allows ample time to get situated. Buy their pre-made lunch, it is well worth the 10 bucks, bring extra water on the raft (especially in the summer). Use the bathroom before you get on the bus (and be quick). They give you a dry bucket for your lunch and items, yes you can bring your phone in a dry pouch. Wear a hat and a sun shirt, it is hot and sunny, without much shade. Jump in the water when you have the chance !! If you are a "full figured" person it will be difficult to re-enter the raft, be aware. The trip down river is very safe and well organized. The guides are VERY safety aware ! If you are nervous and listen to them, the team will get you down the river without a hitch ! A few suggestions: don't go on a busy holiday weekend, it can get crowded on the river, the safety briefing takes a long time and you a sitting in the sun (remove your vest and drink water), during July and August I would imagine the water is very low and slow (if it is a dry summer)...best only if you want to have a relaxing rafting trip.
