On the day we went, the line for the drinks and ice cream was the longest but wasn't too bad to get through (maybe 5-10mins at most). I was super excited to see all the different baklava and Middle Eastern pastries on display and to be able to pick out an assortment to share with my family. I loved everything, but a special mention to the pistachio fingers, which are a classic and always a favorite.

It's like walking into a fairy tale - the big round seating area with palm trees and lights, the ice cream, juice, and coffee counter...AND THE PASTRIES. It's like a museum of every delicious thing that has ever existed. Make sure to check out the full line of cases, because there are no repeats - each one is different! Whether you're having a little treat there or taking it to go, they will make it special. The knafeh to go comes in a little styrofoam tray with a cup of syrup and a tiny ziploc of ground pistachio. All for less than the price of some god awful chain bakery cookie.

That's another review. Sadly I came in around 5 pm which is late the place was nicely set up but deceiving as a result of how small the shop was compared to the size of the building. I am not sure if they produce mass quantities of products. Some of the parties were pretty to look at. I didn't buy any because it was so late in the day and I know it's would be a little stale by then. So it looks nice, clean, hospitable staff, not really knowledgeable. They do offer cappuccinos and espressos in addition to fresh brewed coffees. Gonna have to set my alarm to get out earlier to try one of these pastries fresh!

We opted for the crookie- a set of three croissants that were connected and filled with chocolate chip cookies. It was delicious! We also went with a strawberry lemon filled mini croissant and it was light and refreshing we spend about $13 on both desserts which seemed a little high but the quality was there. The cakes and pastries in the cooler were calling our names but we were too full to indulge. The bakery has a lot of offerings between French and Korean treats. There was one case when savory options that I would love to try the next time we come. I recommend coming a little earlier as things were sold out. Didn't prevent us from enjoying the treats we got but I definitely saw some signs for items that I would like to try in the future.

We were greeted with a large display case of many different options of sweet treats, cakes, pie-like items, and many more things! My friend and I picked 6 things total and it was around $18 only! We were very surprised of how cheap but highly delicious these items were!

I haven't tried any other bakeries in Dearborn, but I can tell you that my experience here was fantastic. Customer service and friendliness were beyond excellent; but be sure to pack your patience at peak times because this spot was slammed. You take a number when you walk in, and then wait, and wait, and wait for it to be your turn. This isn't for lack of staff, because there were at least a dozen people working behind the counter, it's just because they were packed with customers! The selections are overwhelming and since it was my first visit, I needed help. The young lady who helped me was very patient, told me about the differences in their specialized Arabic pastries, showed me her favorites, customer favorites, and descriptions for anything I asked about. I went with a small sampler tray of her favorite specialized pastries and their best sellers. Everything was delicious! Flavors, textures, uniqueness, complexity...all of it. My whole family raved about all the treats, so we ended up going back later in the weekend and purchasing a couple larger trays of our favorites (and some new selections) to take home and share. We all agreed that the Qatayef was easily our favorite; for anyone who doesn't know, it is a small pancake filled with custard, fresh chopped strawberries, chopped pistachios, and drizzled with chocolate...fresh, bright, and mouthwateringly delicious. The only negative I experienced was that when I visited around 10am on Sunday to load up for our trip home, their selections were very limited, and I was told I'd need to come back after 3pm to get some of the things I was looking for. So, I would recommend calling ahead to see if they have a full selection before you go, if you don't live nearby. Ultimately, if you haven't tried Dearborn Sweets, I'd highly recommend giving them a shot. They have tons of middle eastern specialties as well as traditional bakery favorites (such as cannoli, fruit tarts, filled donuts, cakes, etc.).
