I've been to Delicacy a few times now, and I have to say it's pretty darn good. The prices are very reasonable, the service is friendly, and the food is consistently tasty. The restaurant is a little different from many Chinese restaurants I've visited. Communication can occasionally be a challenge, but the staff has always been helpful and welcoming. One thing I'd love to see is a chili oil or chili crisp option. They use chiles in some dishes, but the only table-side heat option I've seen is hot mustard. The food is the real highlight. The Kung Pao Chicken is my go-to order--lots of flavor with just the right amount of heat. The Crispy Scallion Chicken was also very good, although the sauce was a bit thicker and sweeter than I personally prefer. The spring rolls were excellent, and while the egg rolls were tasty, they were slightly chewier than I expected. The lunch specials are an especially good value. For under $10, you get an entrée, rice, and a spring roll. For just 50 cents more, you can substitute an egg roll. That's hard to beat these days. The restaurant can be a little difficult to find the first time, but it's definitely worth the effort. I'll be back. read more

By now, this has become my favorite restaurant in Rock Hill...and possibly the same with my husband. Not only do we feel that the foods here are tremendous, the portions are so generous, we usually doggy bag half the portion home for yet another full, satisfying meal. Their menu is quite extensive, but I am so stuck on their Scallion Chicken...'cuz it's soooooo good! I really need to try other items on the menu. My husband is equally stuck on their Fish w/ the Black Bean Sauce...and I'm obsessed with this dish as well. If we didn't share our plates, I might order this dish. WOW! It's one of Rock Hill's best kept secrets. We stopped in for a Father's Day lunch. Menus were clean, clear, uncluttered, and well printed (something you appreciate as you get older). I ordered Moo Shu Shrimp with Pancakes for lunch and I took home Shrimp Egg Foo Young, Chicken with Broccoli and BBQ Ribs for dinner. The Moo Shu Shrimp was a first time experience. The ingredients listed was everything that I enjoy. My only critique is that the veggies were overcooked. I added hot mustard and soy sauce for added flavor and spice. I don't send food back. I would order this again but specify lightly steamed vegetables. I thoroughly enjoyed the Shrimp Egg Foo Young. (Just needed to drain the oil ). The bbq ribs I would not order again. I'm originally from New York so I've eaten in Chinatown on Mott Street and there are scores of Chinese restaurants in every neighborhood l'm accustomed to glazed bbq ribs with the bone rather than chopped. My daughter enjoyed her favorite Chicken with Broccoli. I will definitely go back for the Shrimp Egg Foo Young. It had the perfect amount of shrimp. The service was excellent. This is a fascinating place. It's sort of in a strip mall so zero issue with parking. It's clearly a family owned restaurant which I can really appreciate in a world full of chinese restaurants that all look, feel and taste alike. The service was amazing- super fast, piping hot food, friendly server, HUGE portions of food. The value is undeniable for this place. They do ask that you pay with cash if you can, helps them and it's good for all of us to be in the habit. There are lots of helpful and informative signs everywhere. THEY ARE CLOSED ON MONDAYS. I must have seen three signs that said that, must be an issue or a complaint that ppl don't know their day of rest. All that to say, everything was really clean, well maintained, and felt cared about. They have a couple of different table options from booths to family style tables. I think the thing I liked about the family style space is that it was sectioned off partially so it felt like eating dinner with your family at home. We enjoyed our food! I stay at the Courtyard by Marriott and one of the employees gave Delicacy Chinese Bistro a good recommendation. Our server, Ian, was attentive from the moment we sat down. He made sure our water glasses were always full and checked in regularly, enhancing the overall dining experience with his friendly demeanor and prompt service. We started our meal with a mix of fried and steamed pork dumplings--six of each. Unfortunately, I couldn't snap a photo of the full serving because we couldn't resist diving in right away. The dumplings were clearly handmade, with delicate, thin wrappers and a perfect balance of flavors. None of that thick, gummy texture you sometimes get with frozen options. They came with a dumpling dipping sauce that complemented them perfectly. One of the highlights at Delicacy Chinese is their lunch combo, which is available even on weekends. I ordered my go-to dish for any Chinese restaurant, the General Tso's Chicken combo. The combo comes with your choice of fried or white rice and a side of either a Rangoon, vegetable spring roll, or--for an extra $0.50--an egg roll. I opted to upgrade to the egg roll, and it was well worth it. This egg roll was packed with pork and infused with flavors of Chinese five-spice and curry. It wasn't the usual cabbage-heavy roll; instead, it was flavorful and satisfying, leaving me wishing I had another. As for the General Tso's Chicken, it was phenomenal. The chicken was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and coated in a sauce that had just the right balance of sweetness and heat. It's definitely the best I've had in the surrounding Charlotte area, and while I don't have a go-to spot in the city itself, Delicacy Chinese now tops my list of favorites. One of my dining partners ordered the Mongolian beef combo and was equally impressed. The beef was tender, and the sauce was well-balanced--not too sweet and not overloaded with onions, which can sometimes be a problem at other Chinese restaurants. One small note: if you choose fried rice as a side, it's just wok-fried with soy sauce--no veggies or egg. It's simple but works well with the bold flavors of the main dishes. Overall, Delicacy Chinese is my new top choice for Chinese food, and I'm more than willing to make the trip to Rock Hill whenever I have a craving. So today I decided to take myself to lunch I came across this place and to my surprise it had some what nice reviews so why not right. Upon entering into the restaurant it was about 2 other guest in front of me and the place seemed to be a bit busy. However there was still seating available. They seated the 2 people in front of me but when it was my turn he host told me that I had to wait. I'm not sure why I would have had to wait seeing that there was still tables. He told me that those tables "weren't for seating" Which confused me because if they're not for seating why are they there. A couple came in behind me and he say them RIGHT DOWN !! At the same tables that "Weren't for sitting" now I am a black woman and honestly the only black person inside. The ambience was typical strip mall design, nothing fancy, but clean, neutrally appointed, roomy with functional modern furniture. Service was exceptional, timely, patient with numerous checks to ensure our experience and food was perfect. The menu was expansive and reasonably priced. The food was amazing in preparation, presentation and temperature Food included some of the best egg rolls we've had; delicious wonton soup. Entrees included wonderfully aromatic and tasty General Tso's chicken and Mongolian Beef. Both served with vegetable fried rice, which was delicious. I ordered steamed dumplings.. they were small, the dough was fresh & soft. Steamed to perfection & the ginger sauce was good. Then ordered Triple Delight....consisted mostly broccoli, very little meat (major disappointment, lots of brown sauce and 2 large shrimp. The man at the counter asked me what kind of rice I wanted. I chose "fried rice". First time I received "fried rice" that was white rice with lots of soy sauce, not "fried" and only 1 spec of scrambled egg that probably was a mistake to be added to the rice.
