I was very close to giving this place 3 stars based on the main course. But, the dumplings got them the extra star. Apps Pork Egg Rolls - very good. Decent size. Appear to be house made. Dumplings - maybe the best I have ever had. One knock, they give one very small serving of dipping sauce. Not enough for 3 dumplings much less 6. Main Chicken with Broccoli - my wife liked it, said it was good. Thai Cashew Chicken - we ordered it extra spicy. They put in 1 pepper in the serving. There was ZERO spice to the dish. And, it was kind of bland to boot. Main complaint - the mains are smaller portions than any other Chinese restaurant I have experienced. read more

Staying in Richburg, we quickly realized the restaurant options were limited, but stumbling upon China Wok was a real treat. My nephew recommended this Chinese restaurant while visiting . Imagine my surprise when I walked into loudly festive Latino music playing , a "seemingly" only staff of Latino cooks in the back, and I was greeted by who might have been the owner. He too is Latino. I walked back out to make sure that I'd walked into the right restaurant as there was also another Chinese restaurant next to it. Not to even suggest that Latino's can't cook Chinese but just the opposite. It's probably super tasty to patrons because they cook with so much flavor and zest! I really thought that I was in the wrong place. Big portions... too much food for only me. The staff was friendly and accommodating but most of all, I loved the camaraderie of the cooks singing along with the music . Good vibes. Oh, haaa the food. Well, I only order veggie lomein for my Chinese dish so no big review here. It was good like noodles should be chewy with fresh vegetables. My nephew loves everything that he's tried over the years so try them based on his and other great reviews. I hear they also have a Mexican restaurant in the same vicinity and it's really tasty. My coworker and I visit this Chinese spot at least once per week. In this area, this is the best spot. Their General Tso actually has some kick to it and their portions are generous. They are always very sweet and true to their 15 minute wait times. The egg rolls are just the right crisp; I recommend the General Tso, Sesame Chicken, Chicken and Broccoli and the Lo Mein. We drive from Ohio to Florida and always forget which exit has the best restaurants, but as we checked into our hotel nearby, we remembered this was the wrong exit. We usually eat at the Front Porch but wanted to try something new so came to China Wok. Our server was quick to wait on us and take our order. Our order came out fast.....too fast. Didn't get to finish our soup, which was served before the appetizer came, and then entrees came almost immediately thereafter. My suggestion would be to order things as you want them as food is quickly served. We had the wonton soup and the hot and sour soup which were both very good. The wontons seemed home made and were tasty. We then had the steamed dumplings, which were OK. We decided we must usually order them pan fried as these were not like we usually order. The sauce helped add flavor to somewhat bland dumplings. We ordered Kung Pao Chicken and Chicken Lo Mein. This was plenty of food for the two of us with nothing left over. The Kung Pao was spicy, and didn't taste like any Kung Pao we have ever had. There wasn't really enough sauce, and was just OK. The lo mein had loads of chicken and noodles, but lacked flavor. We need to make note that this isn't the exit we want due to lack of decent restaurants. read more

Very fat with filling, that was very creamy. Good crunch, and the duck sauce was nice. Beef and mushroom is a simple dish, but still tasty. This I had as lunch as well, and it was just as good. Comes with either white or fried rice, and while the rice wasn't more than that (fried rice, at least, what I'm familiar with, has carrot, egg, and peas), it was still good with the dish. From the moment we walked in, our service was excellent. We were met with a friendly smile and a pleasant demeanor, which continued as the evening progressed. Our waiter was right there with menus and water after we were seated. For appetizers, we ordered the wonton soup. Delicious. My dinner was shrimp egg foo yung; my friend ordered shrimp and broccoli. Both meals came with white rice. The food was served fairly quickly, it was hot, and tasted fresh. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. We enjoyed our food at a leisurely pace. Everyone was laid back, nothing at all rushed about the atmosphere. There were no other diners eating in but lots of folk came to pick up food. The only caveat is finding the place. Locals might know just how to maneuver their way back into the small strip mall behind the BP gas station, to reach the China Wok, but the rest of us could use some signage, especially at night. You can almost see the place from the road, depending on the direction you come from. If you don't, it's worth it to find it so keep looking until you do. read more

The place was great! Nice & clean! We were traveling along interstate 77 and wanted something other than a hamburger for dinner along the highway. We googled Chinese food & the China Wok popped up and we had great reviews. However the last review was in 2013 but it was a great review so we decided to try it anyway. The place is very clean on the inside and has a health department rating of "A" on the door for excellent! The Chinese lady that was working seated us right away and got our drink orders. She came back and we were ready to order so she took our order & we had our food within 5 minutes. The food was great & had a really good taste even better than our Chinese place back home. The prices were not bad either they were very comparable for dinner prices at most Chinese restaurants. We had the sesame seed chicken dinner and it was only $8.95 for the whole dinner. They had us in and out in about 15 minutes which is great when you're on the road traveling and don't want to waste time. A great find along the interstate! read more

Best Chinese lunch buffet. Usually, Chinese buffets have 100 different items to choose from, but only a few that taste good at all. China Wok has a very small buffet, but everything on it is great. Especially love the hibachi chicken, which sadly they don't have on their dinner menu. Sizable portions, moist rice. Sauces can be overly salty or sweet and chicken (sesame and General Tso's) can be more batter than meat. Then again, you can't expect much more for the price. read more
