Friendly staff inside. Super clean and well-kept, organized, and stocked. In a nice strip mall that is clean, well-kept and has plenty of parking. We found some items we love that aren't easy to find anywhere else, picked up some soup spoons and soy plates as well as dumplings, sauces, and some fresh greens. The fresh veggie section has excellent prices and gorgeous bok choy, broccoli, scallions and other items. Tons of desserts and candies and all the other goodies you could want. I have been loyal to this store for years! I appreciated their understanding when I was pregnant and needed to use the bathroom badly as they don't offer public restroom. They're friendly to kids and will give a free snack sometimes. They are always ready to assist if I can't reach something or if I just have a question of "do you have x item?". They have a range of Chinese staples, pho seasonings, Asian focused vegetables (bean sprouts, squash, etc.) and my favorite: Filipino snacks, pantry staples, and frozen goods at a great price! read more

I've lived in the Hampton Roads area for 4.5 years now, and I can't believe I've only JUST discovered this store by accident on Sunday. It's located in the same strip mall shopping center as the popular Filipino bakery, Red Robin. I spoke to the Chinese owner, who said they've been around for more than 20 years, which is impressive for a small Mom & Pop business. Inside, they have lots of different varieties of vegetables, fruits, decent frozen section, Asian snacks, candy, and other ethnic foods. They have bags of some of my favorite vegetables including bean sprouts and bok choy, at pretty good prices too! They even have trays of duck balut..which is unheard of, even in other popular Asian supermarkets like Grand Mart. I even found cans of Calamansi, which is a Filipino lime drink which is so refreshing! The layout is both organized and slightly chaotic, for lack of better terms..lol The aisles are narrow, shelves are stock full of so much goods. It's definitely the kind of place you need to know what you wanna get before you go in. But, the nice thing I like about this grocery store, is inside, it seems pretty clean. And towards the back of the store, they have an old school, Chinese altar with burning incense and food offerings. And don't think the staff here have a language barrier, most of the staff here have a decent grasp of conversational level English. I'm glad I found Delicate Oriental Grocery before my time in CoVa is over..lol Now that I live back in Virginia Beach, this may be my new go-to spot for Asian produce! read more

I was looking for a new set of ceramic bowls, unfortunately they now longer carry those. However, they carry the plastic kind if that's what you are looking for. The store was what I expected, not exceptionally clean, your basic courteous staff that have no interest in conversations-but well stocked nonetheless. The store has all of your needs if you are looking to cook delicious asian meals. They have a frozen section where we found the best frozen lumpia. They also have a fresh section with fresh vegetables, I finally found some ginger but it wasn't as fresh as I'd hope it would be. They have an abundance of different types of cooking oils, you can be sure they will have what local grocery stores don't carry. read more

Absolutely love this store! They had everything we normally would buy at home (Hawaii and Guam). Wish they were closer to Suffolk, but the drive was worth it. One of the cashiers (not sure if he was the owner) lived on Guam and knew about our local dishes like chicken Kelaguen. I wanted to make this for my daughter and this store had my hot peppers green onions and lemon that I needed. I also bought my Mapo tofu sauce I needed for our Mapo tofu ramen and I also found chicken longanisa sausages. Plus all the asian snacks we love eating. Been coming here for YEARS. It's always convenient and carries everything asian like teas, candies, vegetables, snack, drinks, frozen items, seasonings, pots, utensils and more. The only thing is you have to be careful with the expiration dates because I found out after taking my products home they are expired...crap! Delicate Oriental Grocery is nice little mom and pop Asian grocery store with a good variety of fresh asian produce. If you want live blue crabs this is a good place to get them. They have a lot of frozen items as well including meats, fish and seafood items, fruits and vegetables, some noodles too. If you love durian like I do you can get whole frozen durian fresh off the boat from Thailand here. They also stock a large variety of dry rice noodles and rice sticks. Other dry goods include the usual Asian sweets, dried fruits, dried squid, octopus, fish, etc... You will also find all the usual Asian snack foods here, shrimp chips anyone?  Look for all your favorite Asian canned goods here as well. Cans and bottles of vegetables, fruits, meats, sauces, etc... are plentiful with a good variety of products.  Of course you can buy rice in bulk with various brands available in sizes up to 50 lbs. You can buy glutinous rice (sticky rice) here too. At the counter they have a small assortment of freshly prepared fish cakes, sesame balls and turon. The turon (banana lumpia) is amazing, so sweet and delicious. They prepare it fresh throughout the day. Like many small grocery stores, the aisles are narrow and can be a little cumbersome to navigate with a shopping cart during busy times. The shelves are well stocked and the store is very clean and well organized. It may be the cleanest Asian grocery in the area. The owners and staff are all very friendly and helpful. If you can't find something just ask, they know their inventory very well. The store is located in the busy KempsRiver Crossing in the Kempsville area of Virginia Beach. The common parking lot is well kept and always free of debris, the size is adequate for the business. If space is ever an issue, there are plenty of other nearby parking lots of various sizes throughout the shopping center. Getting in and out of the center in any direction is convenient with multiple access points controlled by traffic lights. read more

This is one of my favorite spots during the summer to get fresh yellow mangoes. They have a small but fresh produce section. They don't have fresh meats like other larger Asian stores, but the have a decent frozen section. However, I believe they do have a small selection of fresh seafood. Despite being smaller scale, their prices are still comparable to the other stores. read more

Asian food & goodies galore! If you need an Asian (food of course) fix, come here! My mom has been coming here for years - they have long aisles of rice, snacks, candy, canned goods, frozen foods, fresh desserts, toiletries, all from the wonderful continent of Asia. The workers are very friendly. I once asked the owner which can of Thai Iced tea was better (had 2 in my hands) and she gave me honest reviews on both, and I ended up getting both of them too, just to decide which one I like better. Last visit, my mom bought a heavy 50 pound sack of rice (we LOVE & live off of rice!), and asked the owner if someone could help her get it to the car, and she said of course, and had one of the men working help us out and bring it to our trunk. He did it with no hesitation either. Great customer service! I love coming hair since it is closer to my house. They are really nice to their customers. I came to pick up some blue crab! They were definitely fresh and huge! I knew I'd have to buy crab from them from now on. I love their minimal selection because they are really clean and the quality is better in comparison to farmers, which is another Asian mArket I go to. This place isn't a huge store and may not have everything u might need but they come stocked with my normal food necessities that I cook with on a daily basis. I like the quality of bulk mangoes I get in a box! They even have baked goods and snacks like red bean sesame balls, banana Turon (Caramelized banana wrapped in lumpia (egg roll)wrapper) etc. This is my stomping grounds. This place is locally owned by a family of Chinese people who speak Cantonese. They have fairly priced fresh Chinese vegetables, can foods, snacks, sauces, and they even have spiritual money/cloths that you burn for the the dead if your Buddhist. I haven't been to any other Asian market in the area however their prices are cheaper than Jacksonville, NC but a couple of cents more than Fairfax, VA. The employees are as nice as Chinese will get and don't mind the little temple set up in the back 8) Btw, if you're paying with card, they have a minimum of a $15 purchase.... read more

Small grocery store with a super mean, loud woman owner. She screams and speaks Cantonese too much after speaking English with customers. This place is busy because Asia grocery is closed during this pandemic. Otherwise, I wouldn't even step in this store because of this woman. She treats customers disrespectfully. Very, very small, compared to Grand Mart International. Also, we didn't really feel too comfortable in there. We received the standard issue "shopping while black" treatment. No greetings when we entered the store, just confused looks. Older woman "organizing shelves", following us down every aisle. Only when they realized we were actually going to buy something did they start being cordial. We bought our stuff, and the cashier thanked us, but i think she could tell we wouldn't be back. It is very sad, but this is how it goes sometimes. Black foodies aren't always welcomed into spaces that other foodies are. I always get their canned Coconut juice or their Thai Tea drink. When it's crab season they have fresh crab available for you to buy by the lb. This is my favorite Asian Grocery market. The only bad thing is the smell that hits you when you first walk in. (& I'm Filipino). They make some food fresh there such as banana rolls and rice cakes. Really love this grocery store it's conveniently located off on one of the busiest streets on Indian River rd and also very close to my house. This is also one of the cleanest grocery stores in the area which is a big deal to me. They have all the essentials you may need for Asian cooking. Fresh fish and crabs are available as well as fresh veggies, fruit, sauces, can goods, frozen goods. Although their goods are a little bit more pricy than other Asian stores like Grandmart but I'll still pay more for convenience. At the register they also have freshly cooked sesame balls, fish cakes and fried plantain wrap in egg wrap for your snaking needs. The customer service is great. I stopped by today. I picked up eel sauce, rice seasoning, a lot of ramen(I love chapaghetti), inarizushi, reusable chopsticks, and a sweet treat. They have everything here that I would normally buy at GrandMart and it's closer to home so I'll be back next time I need to pick up a few things. They have a really decent selection. Decent little grocer. We stopped by looking for dumplings. They have a small selection in the freezer section. Only one was vegetarian and it turned out we didn't like it.
