Stopped for a quick visit after visiting a customer. The food came out quickly and hot. The location is easy and convenient right off the freeway. i ordered the super burrito, I ate some but something tasted a little off about the burrito so i didn't really "enjoy it" i was just satisfying my hunger. I really wanted to like it more but ended up giving it to the dog when i got home who tore it up. So i guess it was enjoyed by someone in the household. read more

Not sure y this isn't five star I commute down the 5 and I dream about their al pastor on my drive .. always on point last time I was there it was busy and I had a ten minute wait tops and she upgraded my horchata from a small to a large and was unnecessarily apologetic.. if u like authentic Mexican it's the spot read more

One star for food poisoning. Hot day so maybe the fridge was down or not working or poor food storage. Who know but I am 100% certain it was the one thing I got on my trip down thru Williams to the Bay Area. I had a simple carnitas enchilada and nothing else until I had dinner with family. They were unaffected so it WAS the carnitas. Kinda hate to do this, but I had the worst case of stomach cramps, diarrhea (bloody) and vomiting for hours, starting about 1 am. We'd stopped at Roberta's many times before and the food was always pretty decent. Service was good if a bit brief. But I can't let them get away with nearly killing me. That was sooo painful across my gut, like gripped in an iron vice. Then 3 periods of vomiting just super unpleasant. 5 days later I'm still waiting to get well. Back to crowded, unexciting Granzella's I guess or find some other stop on the way than Williams. read more

I could have overlooked the mediocre food quality, but staff was not particularly welcoming. Not a great combination.

The worst taqueria I can actually say I've ever been too. Street tacos looked like someone took 2 seconds to throw them together. Advertised as onion and cilantro on top but all you could really see was the mountain of verde salsa on top. Chips and salsa for $3. Ok, but I assume I'm going to get more than 3 tiny plastic containers with a different kind in each of salsa. What a complete rip off. $1 charge when we asked for some more for the 3/4 bag full of chips we still had left. And to top it off they were the most stale chips I've ever out in my mouth!!! We had been wanting to stop and try his place for a while now. We will never eat here again read more

I ordered a super burrito. I was expecting to get something really tasty but I was disappointed to say the least. The chicken had been boiled no flavor. The rice was bland and so was the beans. 10 bucks for a burrito. What a rip off. Don't go here. Save your money and go to the BK next door. read more

It's hard for me to imagine stopping in Williams somewhere besides Granzellas, but I'm betting that Roberta's holds a good chance at beating them out on future trips along I5. My husband is a cheap taco connoisseur and proclaimed them to be some of the best he's had in recent memory. I like that they come with pickled carrots and jalapenos. Anyone can stick some shredded pork in a tortilla. It's all in the details. Minus one star because their bathroom was not functional and their horchata was a bit too sweet. read more

If you happen to be driving on I-5 though the food desert that is Northern California, do yourself a favor and stop at Roberta's. It's about as good as you're going to do on this part of the 5, and it's a whole lot better than the fast-food chains. When you get off the freeway, just look for the yellow shack! There is plenty of parking and it's not a tourist trap like Granzella's. The tacos here are legit. Order them and you will not be disappointed. We tried the pastor, carnitas, and chicken. They were all good, but I think the pastor was my favorite. Do not order the aquas frescas (basically sugar water from a soda fountain). And unless you're really craving them, also skip the chips (which were tasteless and not fresh). read more

This is a really random, out of the way spot off the 5 in NorCal. I was driving in a caravan of trucks pulling trailers back from Oregon and we needed a gas stop and hoped to find a taco joint to refuel ourselves as well. We scored with this spot! In my opinion, Roberta's is exactly how a side-of-the-road taco/Mexican place ought to be. Tacos done right. You park in a gravel parking lot next to the idling big rigs, stroll through the blazing sun to the brightly-painted yellow cinderblock building, duck into a little window out front and place your order. I rattled mine off in Spanish for a little extra "cred" and was rewarded with a pair of meaty tacos al pastor, already dressed with just the right combination of cilantro, onions, & salsa, with a side of sliced radishes and escabeche (pickled jalepeños, onion, & carrot). I love a place that says "no, we'll make the way they are supposed to be eaten, not make you pick the salsas and figure out the right combo". And I really agreed with the way they did these. The tacos were authentic without being grisly at all - nice meaty chunks of marinated pork, diced small enough for a taco, but not minced into a hash like some places trying to use "junk meat" for their tacos. The tortillas were store-bought, but fresh and the salsa had a great kick to it. One friend ordered a quesadilla al pastor. I'm generally not a quesadilla guy, but I have to say that it was one of the best-looking quesadillas I've ever seen. Not too goey, lots of clunky goodies inside, and a nice toasted exterior wrapping it all up. IIRC it was dressed with a generous scoop of guacamole. To drink, I had home-made horchata (rice drink) and it was good, but a bit sweet, even by Mexican standards. I can guarantee that the next time I'm driving down the 5 from way up north, I'll plan my trip to be at Roberta's for lunch. With places like this, why do Burger Kings even exist? read more

Driving down I-5, I stopped in Williams to get some snacks for the ride back to Martinez, and happened across this place, "Roberta's Taqueria". Just off the "William's" exit on the West side of I-5, it's stand out YELLOW color naturally attracts a glance. I had two chicken Taco's, ordering during the lunch hour. There was a steady flow of maybe 1/3 Latino's with a very mixed group for the balance - which to me was a good sign, along with the many cars parked in the adjoining gravel lot. So I had to try it... The tacos were very good...although only available in (double corn) soft tortillas. They had a great taste. And very hot off the grill. This seemed to NOT be a fast food place, as the two tacos took maybe 10-minutes to prepare, and the chicken was piping hot! Although I prefer crispy shells, these were excellent. The had a simple menu, with an outside eating area, and maybe 1/2 of the folks were taking their food to go. The taco's came in nice tortillas with onions, cilantro, and a healthy supply of nice chicken accompanied in a light, dry chicken juice or sauce. Jalepenos, radishes and carrots were included - but on the side. Definately worth a stop. They also have many other standard Mexican food items, including tamales, enchiladas, and more... read more

This place is absolute garbage. If you live in Williams you have not much else of a choice for Mexican food, if your passing by on I-5 its best that you keep driving and look for something else. the food is alright, nothing to write home about, the woman behind the counter is rude as can be. she slammed the window shut once when the customer in front of me for asking how much a burrito was! Also they are super stingy with their salsa and various condiments, act as if they are going to go out of business by giving out an extra salsa. Which come out in small portions as it is and usually take a very long time to come out. Some food is alright, but most burritos are packed with rice and beans with little to no meat or cheese. Once even sold me a chicken burrito with only 2 strips of chicken and no meat and then got mad when I complained. In short this establishment is a very shrewd business run by an even voracious and prude owner. Don't care about the quality of their food or the their customers satisfaction, they simply want to "milk" their patrons. Unfortunately you don't have much of a choice in Williams and the owner knows it so, they make no attempt to increase quality. read more

Fake cheese. And they don't mix the burrito, like they don't, the beans and the sour cream is on the bottom, so now I just have some stuff and not all of it. And they use too much paper. And they use too much Styrofoam. And they get irritated when we aksed for black beans and they didn't have it. We did ask twice though. When I asked for real cheese she said oooh my gawwwwwd. Stopped on my way to Douglas City, saw this little spot and thought I'd check it out because I love Mexican food! It was a big hit! For $13 my boyfriend and I got a super chicken burrito (amazing! One of the best I've ever had) and tacos (pastor - the best, carnitas- second best, and carne asada- were okay but not extraordinary). Definitely a great stop! We will be back again! read more

Driving up I-5 last week, we started getting hungry and pulled off a couple times in search of food. We saw this taqueria in Williams and were instantly intrigued by the signs advertising tamales, so we stopped here. A customer outside remarked that this was his regular I-5 stop, claiming they have "the best burritos this side of San Diego". While the carnitas burrito was really good, I still claim La Bamba Taqueria in Mountain View to be my favorite. The pork tamales here were indeed delicious, and I would stop here again on the next road trip. read more

As someone else said, if you're buzzing down the 5 do yourself a favor and stop here for tacos or tamales. Very good, totally legit. And don't spend your money at some crappy fast-food joint. It's not awesome, but it gets the extra star for being the best thing right off the 5. And as a bonus, there's a farmer's market just down the block where we got some excellent produce. read more

I had called to make a order for two quesadillas de asada when we got there they only had one. ( it happens I get it) then the lady was charging me for everything two order of quesadillas and three drinks she only gave me two drinks and when I went to go get my other drink she said I only ordered two even though she repeated back all three drinks to me ... she also didn't give me the right amount of change back and the food was disappointing... not someone to go on Yelp and write a bad review but I had to ... the service from the beginning till the end was over all bad .. $26 down the drain honestly read more

When you're making a drive from Chico, California to Santa Rosa, California, there aren't too many places to stop off the freeway to grab a bite to eat. Starving with not an exit in sight for miles, my buddy and I turned to our trust Yelp app to find us a place to grab some morning grub. We arrived at Roberta's Taqueria around 9:00 a.m. As we approached the ordering window, there was an employee behind the window, jotting down stuff into a notepad. After waiting a few minutes, she opened the window and asked us what we'd like to order. We each ordered chorizo and egg burritos. The person taking our order couldn't seem more disinterested in us. After about a minute, my bladder reminded me that it had been about 80 miles since I tried to relieve myself. I tapped on the window to ask for a restroom and all the employee did was point in an "around the corner" motion. As I ran around the corner, I pulled on the door where I think the restroom was but noticed it was locked. I went back to chat with my buddy for a few minutes doing a "pee pee dance" and checked again. Nope, locked again. I tapped on the window to ask about the restroom and the employee only shrugged. Fortunately, there was a Burger King across the street where I RAN to, in order to take care of business. Anyway, the burritos weren't too flavorful and a little odd. I've never had a burrito where the chorizo wasn't melted down into a sauce like substance then mixed with scrambled eggs. Here, the egg is separate from little chunks of chorizo throughout the burrito. They add potatoes to the burrito to bulk it up, but they lack any flavoring or spice to the burrito and, in fact, dilute the small amount of spice and character the chorizo provides. The only thing which possibly "saved" the burrito was the house salsa they provide, which was definitely spicy and gave the burrito a little kick. Based on service, food taste and price (we paid $15.00 for two burritos and a soda), this place was alright. read more

Store-bought guacamole, fake nacho cheese, and they charged us extra for two extra cups and five plastic forks. I thought the meal was a little over-priced. That was the bad part. Always stop here on the way from Santa Cruz to Redding. Been coming since it was just a small bright yellow place with no graphics and they only used to take cash now they take debit and credit. I always get the chili Verde burrito. I have tried also the chicken quesadilla and street tacos and fabulous as well but hard to beat that chili verde burrito. The one negative is don't get the chips The food is always freshly prepared per order and the staff is always friendly. Give it a try! read more

Decent roadside taco shop. Took a gamble on pulling over on I-5 every 15 minutes to pray to the porcelain God but so far it's been 30 minutes and my bowels are in tact. We always stop in Williams for gas on our way south back to the Bay Area. Used to get food at Granzellas but stopped doing that a long time ago because they consistently screwed up our take out orders. Tried Roberta's yesterday on our way home and we were wowed! I had a super burrito (huge!) and my husband had quesadillas. The quality of the food is perfect, very fresh and tasty. I am particular about tortillas and their tortillas (must be house-made) were wonderful. More food than we could finish in one sitting...took the rest home and ate later. This will be our stop from now on and I intend to work my way through their huge menu! The house hot sauce is hot! Loved it! read more

After reading the reviews on Yelp before traveling North on I-5, I decided to try out Roberta's for a quick dinner. I wasn't disappointed. Yes, it's a hole-in-the-wall taco shop with outdoor seating and all the nuance that comes with eating in a parking lot. I'm not usually a fan of tacos, but the price was right ($1.45/each) to try 'em out. I had a carne asada (steak) taco, a pollo (chicken) taco, and a bbq pork taco. They were all amazing! I did have to wait longer than I expected, which just makes me think they are cooked fresh to order. The workers were friendly enough. As for the carne asada, the meat was crispy, almost as if fried. I loved this about it, although I could see how others might think it was 'burnt'. To me, the crispiness added some depth to the flavor and gave it additional texture in my mouth. I wanted to stop there on the way back home, but was anxious to make good time. If I'm ever back near Williams, I assure you I will be eating at Roberta's. That said, Roberta's is not for everyone. It is unassuming, authentic, and no-thrills. If you like air conditioning, a waitress, or ambience, Granzella's next door looked to fit the bill. If you want delicious tacos for not a lot of money, Roberta's is Numero Uno. read more

A biker told me I had to try the carnitas tacos. I got one and a pollo and they were fantastic. Served with lemon (I prefer lime), radish sliced and peppers it knocked Granzella's down a notch as a fav pit stop. Granzella's is good for a bathroom break but resist their expensive food and come have delish $1.70 tacos! read more

The burrito I got was huge and simple, but very tasty. I would say that for the size, the price was good. The issue that kind of ruined the experience was the group of men having lunch who seemed to work right behind the taqueria (car washing/mechanic services). Two of them would NOT stop blatantly staring at me as I ordered, waited for my order, ate, and left. They were snickering a bit at my refusal to let them totally get to me, and said a few things in reference to me that they very likely assumed I didn't understand (except I did, as I can understand Spanish). Then one of them left and pulled his car directly next to mine as the others jeered, and he and two of his buddies hung by my door until I came to it (with the friend I was with) and leered at me until I drove off. This group of men is apparently often there for lunch. They may be awesome people, but they weren't saying awesome things or being respectful at the time. Just keep an eye out :) read more

Not the best place to get Mexican food around this town. Went around 6-7 and the meat on all our food was cold and hard like old meat just sitting on the grill.
