Never has there been a store with cooler decor. Just walking through the front door you are transported into another world. The back of the store is lined with mirrors, including a fun house type mirror and the dressing area is a lovely couch with curtains to pull shut for privacy. The walls are lined with tons of unique and sexy clothes for both guys and girls alike: from corsets to skirts to jackets and accessories...even shoes! Unfortunately coolness comes at a price...a very high one at that! I fell in love with a victorian-esque black floor length layered ruffle skirt that cost $347! However, they are definitely quality items! Sid was a fantastic help in helping find items that would both fit and flatter my friends and I. It was great. If I had the cash, I'm sure a large portion of my wardrobe would be from this store! read more

Now that my amazing outfit was revealed at last nights Elite Event (and everyone knows what they can get McThrill for Christmas) I can finally give a shout out to the store that made my outfit possible. Mary Ann was a class act every step of the way and made sure I was wearing something that suited me perfectly. She also helped me figure out that I can wear a size 38 waist. You all found out how Swank the clothing was the moment you laid eyes on my smoking hot jacket and utility belt. But you didn't get to go through the amount of sweet ass looking belts and pants that I got to. Choosing would have been no easy task if it weren't for Mary Ann's expert eye. I'm deliberately reviewing Delicious corsets, rather than the boutique, because I didn't actually buy a corset- I bought corset making supplies. There were pluses and minuses to my experience, but hopefully someone will read this review- and have a thoroughly positive experience as a result. Things that people didn't tell me over the phone 1. You must order the supplies, and pay for them, online. You can still pick them up in the store, no problem- but they get annoyed at you if you walk into the boutique and try to order the stuff. 2. The online order site is a completely different site from the boutique's- it is www.corsetmaking.com 3. The workshop portion of the business is only open until 5- so unless you ask them to put it upstairs you must pick it up before 5. That being said- if you call and ask them to, they would be happy to put it upstairs, and you can grab it anytime before the boutique itself closes! 4. The number for the corset supplies is different from the boutique's- it is 215.413.8259 5. The boutique itself closes early on Sunday nights. From that, you can see what my issues were- it was frustrating. However the supplies, when I got them, were absolutely top-notch. And they had everything I needed in one place. So anyone who is looking to make a corset- you don't have to go to NYC or online for steel bones anymore- they've got them here! yay! And they're priced well- everything is absolutely fair. Plus no shipping made me a happy puppy. So I'm giving them a better rating than my experience deserved, and hopefully the process will be more clear in the future for someone else. I have a very definitive look (my wife calls it powerful gay man) that is a jambalaya of my life experiences and expressions. No other store has ever captured that jambalaya with the right seasoning like Delicious Boutique & Corseterie. Not only do they specialize in clothing and accessories that are anything but run of the mill, the quality of their clothing more then justifies the slightly higher ticket prices as well. Fine leather goods with as much personality and creativity as a mental patient off his meds, Delicious specializes in the unique and tasteful. I purchased a beautiful bag from them and for the likes of me could not figure out how to get the leather straps around my shoulders, under my arm pit while criss crossing like an X on my back. In what was probably one of the funniest conversations I've had with a sales clerk, I called the shop and while in NYC and the clerk in PA, we both figured out the bag together like some long distance leather bag yoga. That phone call alone was worth the $300. As a full time biker and white collar professional it's been very challenging expressing both aspects of my life though my fashion sense but Delicious allows me to do that. Incredibly tasteful, unique and high quality goods make this depot of fashion as mandatory as church on Sunday. Did I mention I'm also a born again Christian? When so-called fashionistas and hipsters grow up and get real jobs but still inhabit that spirit of mature rebellion, Delicious Boutique should be their first stop in that form self expression. Yes, I certainly have to admit that everything in this boutique - from the clothes to the accessories to the employees all around to the absolutely fantastic & wacky carnival-esque interior design is simply scrumptious. When you walk into Delicious Boutique you are certainly walking into one of the most interesting shopping opportunities in Philadelphia. In Delicious you will find a variety of edgy, sexy, funky pieces like corset-like lace-up tanks/dresses, kitschy tees, & lovely retro dresses. There are tons of wonderful leather goods - fantastic belts (even garter belts!), handbags, jackets & cuffs. Of course one of the main attractions here are the amazing corsets. You'll find corsets of various shapes & sizes, over-the-bust or under-the-bust, some more traditionally styled, some with outrageous applique designs, or if you have something unique in mind you can have one custom-made just for you (check out http://www.deliciouscorsets.com for more details), even with (from what I understand) various boning options - they carry a type of boning which has more flexibility than the traditional boning, but still does the cinching trick. This means that you are wearing one-of-a-kind artwork when you buy from Delicious Boutique. Not only are the items here amazing, the owners and down to earth and friendly. They're likely to come out drinking with you after you shop! The staff is never pushy. The store is decorated as an amazingly beautiful circus sideshow, and makes you think you're in the middle of a show. The prices are high here but the merchandise is WORTH it! This is art. While walking around Northern Liberties, happened to glance at this particular store, I was intrigued already. Walked in, it had this Punk, Goth,Rebel look to it- Whimsical in same sentence. The clothes, accessories were just one of a kind-WHERE THE HEll was this place when I was teen, & in college??! Love this stuff, still do, they did have a skirt, short in front, ruffles tiered down in back.It was absolutely Fab!! That is one I MAY still rock, with some boots, my inner rock star look!! This place was awesome! I wandered in (there was a dress in the window, it seduced me). The woman behind the counter was very friendly. I was very tempted to buy something but I am on a new-dress hiatus right now. Perhaps next time? The only thing that turn me off was the intensity of a lot of the pieces there. I love pretty much everything about this store. The decor. The staff. And of course the rows and rows of gorgeous clothing ranging from Cyber Goth, Neo Victorian, Edwardian Circus, Haunted Baroque Disco, and everything in between. Even them most basic of pieces can very pricey, so I didn't make my first purchase here until my 3rd visit: a pair of red & black striped cotton bloomers with ruffles at the bottom, nothing too out of the ordinary. (compared to the rest of the outfit it was , for anyway) On this particular occasion the shop was a little cluttered since they were preparing for a fashion show, but when I needed access to the dressing room the staff immediately cleared out room for me to try on my sweet new pants. They weren't the best fitting pants in the world, but me & pants generally don't get along well and it's more of a costume piece so I'll forgive that. I'm also fairly certain that it was not one of their original designs. A lover of all things vintage, I loved that I could find a true corset here, not just a bustier. These handmade creations will make you look like a goddess, improve your posture and push your boobs up. And they are designed by the owner. I love seeing creative small business in action. The dresses are to die for. They are delightful concoctions made to fit every look in your book, be it goth, lolita, punk, rockabilly betty, or just plain sexy. The store and the woman behind the counter reminded me of Hot Topic, except less grunge and lack of vinyl "aroma". I was apprehensive about stepping into this store, after all, I was sporting my bright pink I Heart Britney Spears T-shirt and Hello Kitty backpack. The décor reminded me of the circus, minus the clowns [1]. There is a men's and women's section with everything from footed pajamas to cocktail dresses. I never thought of owning a corset for the purposes intended so I overlooked them. Mind you, this is a boutique so anything exquisite would put you well over $300 per item. After realizing this, I walked toward the tiny sale rack and there were a dozen Betsey Johnson dresses hanging there. I found the PERFECT summer slip dress. I turned over the price tag to check the damage and it was only $50. When have you ever seen a Betsey dress, at sale price, under $100? We're in a recession people let's make every dollar count! I realize it was a slim chance that I found the perfect dress for $50 but this place is worth a browse. You never know, the perfect dress may be waiting for you. I ended up with a corset thanks to a recent ex-boyfriend of mine. Yeah, don't ask. Anyway, I ended up with a Delicious corset - the best thing to come out of said relationship. I really have very little knowledge about the world of corsets, but the product I received was fabulous, especially for the price. Hell, I'd pay that price just because of the teeny-tiny waist it gives once I'm cinched in. The materials are definitely top of the line and the construction is completely solid. I am definitely appreciative of the fact that they really do follow your measurements to the T.
