Our first night in Paris and we found a cozy Italian place in the 16th Arrondissement, called Ozio. The restaurant is very clean and pleasantly decorated. Most importantly, it was hot outside and very cool inside- so important! The manager/owner (?) was welcoming and quickly sat us at a nice table in the corner of the restaurant. We ordered bread with mozzarella for an appetizer; the bread was some of the best I have had, ever. We ordered a margherita pizza, rigatoni bolognese and "carbo" (penne carbonara). The pizza was a winner for the crust and ingredients. My wife loved the bolognese which is something since she is something of a bolognese expert. ;) The carbo was excellent. The penne was homemade and the ingredients in the carbonara were fresh and wonderfully prepared. All of the dishes were amazing. The portions were sizable and the quality top notch. I ate here 5 times during my one month stay in Paris. I had the margarita pizza, lasagna, mushroom ravioli, buffalina pizza, and seafood risotto. All were delicious and the portions generous (I took half of each dinner home to my apartment for the next night, so technically I ate here 10 times! Food was upsetting. Mushroom pasta I got was under seasoned or not seasoned at all. Staff were very slow to help our table. Waiter said some nonsense about a tip not being included in bill which we checked with management later and they said was not correct. Bill already includes tips. Stumbled on this restaurant while walking through Paris looking for dinner and wow what a hidden gem! The restaurant itself is chic and modern. The service was wonderful. All the staff greeted you and they also had an English menu available. The food tasted so authentic. My friend couldn't resist ordering a pizza AND a pasta dish because everything coming out of the kitchen smelled and looked so good. I ordered the eggplant pasta and she ordered the truffle pizza and seafood linguini. Omg hands down best pizza I had in Paris. The crust was heavenly and the truffle taste tasted like good quality. So warm and welcoming. We were the first people in the restaurant around 6:45P on a Friday and they immediately turned on lovely music and adjusted the lighting after showing us to our table. Service was efficient and friendly. We enjoyed a margarita pizza, the mushroom ravioli and the Ozio salad (served on pizza crust!) we probably ordered too much for two of us transparently but it was delicious and a beautiful, calm space after a long day of walking around. Light lunch as we toured the city. But it's France so nobody really eats lunch so we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. I can't say it was amazing but the food came out quickly. The portions are HUGE. For example imagine a medium sized pizza folded in half, that is their calzone. I ordered the cod which was pan fried. It had a nice crust and was light and flaky on the inside. The service was attentive and helpful, which is a nice change from other French tourist restaurants. If you want a good meal and value then definitely give them a try. read more

Authentic, good food and very good service as well. I wish the tables weren't so crammed together, but that seems to be common around many restaurants in Paris. It smells VERY strongly of truffle in the restaurant as it's a popular menu item, which is great if you like truffle. I don't care for truffle, so could have done without that piece. read more

Consistently good for probably twenty years or more. The menu continues to expand with a broad selection of options. We rarely begin a meal without the Verduro Antipasti - a very shareable starter. The pizzas are better, if that's possible now that the kitchen has been refitted during Covid. The pasta dishes are generous and delivered hot. Ditto the variety of meat and seafood options. This is not a stuffy place, there's good food served by a good staff where an owner always seems to be hovering and monitoring quality. There's nothing not to like about Ozio. read more

Very nice interior and staff. Food was ok, just ok. I thought I had ordered burratta and tomato as an appetizer but received fried burratta and tomato sauce. Disappointing, but it may have been the language barrier as I speak English and this is France. Our only complaint was that my wife's pasta entree came out with my appetizer and was just plopped on the table. My entree came later but my wife had already finished hers. A little training might have helped. Salmon pasta was good. House Pinot Grigio was good as well. Bread, as in all bread in France, was excellent but no olive oil or butter was put on the table. Le Thief, the owner must be from NY. I got the old bait and switch from these guys and caught them but they lucked out it was my last night before leaving Paris and was too tired to fight. First my mistake for going to an Italian restaurant in Paris but we were tired and looking for the closest place to the hotel and Ozio looked nice. It does have a sleek looking interior and the staff were friendly except for one guy who appeared to be the owner or manager. First thing that turned me off is that they were using dining tables as an office counting money on the tables. Not sure if they wiped them down after doing that. I ordered chicken bresaola. What I got instead was chicken and eggplant parmigiana. There was a lot of mozzarella cheese on top of the dish so I kept digging looking for the bresaola but could not find it. Bresaola is a dried salted beef and is much more expensive than eggplant. When the waiter finally came back to take my dish away I questioned him about the eggplant. The word eggplant is incomprehensible to Europeans but I did remember the French word for eggplant is aubergine and he agreed, yes aubergine is eggplant. So now we both understand what I had but that's not what I ordered. Where's the beef!!! At that point I had already finished most of my meal and decided not to pursue this anymore and just pay the bill. Not sure 23 euros for a chicken and eggplant parm is a good deal should have been under 20 euros. Anyway the actual meal wasn't terrible but it was like NY style not Italian from Italy and the pasta was kind of odd, chewy but not al dente and the sauce was a bit watery. If you do choose to eat here make sure you check the menu after you order to make sure you get the same meal. It could have been an honest mistake but I'm from NY and can be cynical or maybe they thought we were Canadians and an easy target. read more
