As the receptionist reads me the date and time, I enter it into my phone and repeat it back for confirmation. Showed up yesterday to my appointment and they tried to tell me that it was not at the time I had in my phone and when I told them it was the date and time I read back to them 6 months ago, she insinuated I was a liar and said she would never make if for that time because it's 30 minutes before lunch (their cleanings typically only take 30 minutes). Needless to say, they would not take me and expected me to take time off work to drive back out there another day. I asked them to have the doctor call me before the end of the day. He did not. I can only assume my family's money is not needed there so I guess we'll be giving it to another dentist that doesn't call its long-time patients liars.

I figured it would take a while to get an appointment. I was wrong. Crystal greeted me on the phone, let me know the paperwork I'd need to fill out beforehand and got me set up with an appointment that Thursday. They are located on US-1 near the new Pratt Brother's Grills. They share a parking lot with Edward Jones and a Hearing business. I waited for a few minutes and then my name was called. I was taken back from Anna the hygenist. She took some xrays and pictures. Then she went into the cleaning process. I will say prior to cleaning there were photos she had to take/xrays with a bite piece. It was pretty uncomfortable. When she was cleaning my teeth it was fine, but it wasn't the most comfortable. At my other dentist I feel like they were a bit more cognisant of what may hurt and were a bit more gentle. The dr. came in for a few minutes, said everything looked fine and was on my way. I will say that I had an established relationship with my old dentist and they knew about me and my family. This was only the first visit, so maybe it'll get better.

But I go for cleanings every 3 months. I have been to 5 cleanings so far with this office and EACH TIME there is a different hygienist doing my cleaning, and most of them I did not feel was a good cleaning. If I wanted to have a different person cleaning my teeth each time, I would go to the DDS school and be a practice for a student. Thats what I felt like each of my cleanings were. Moving here from Palm Beach County Florida and trying to find all new everything from Doctors, to DDS etc was huge. I became concerned after the 3 visit noticing all new people, but now it is the 5th and final time. I have a new DDS lined up already. My old DDS down south I went to for 8 years and only 1 change in hygienists. Not sure why this office has a revolving door of hygienists. Also they billed me for the cleaning AND a $10. PPO ADJUSTMENT? I mailed them a check for the cleaning, but not sure why they are adding on any adjustments. Watch your bills carefully.

Dr. Wohlgemuth is warm and helpful. He seems to really enjoy his profession. He ensures his office is technologically up to date. Everything looks like it is state of the art. 18 years ago a cardiologist at Mayo recommended Dr. Salko, and I am very glad I was referred to…read morehim! I had visited a mall dentist when I first moved to town, and suddenly I had two cavities and had been grinding my teeth. After one time getting the fillings I was left with extreme sensitivity to temperatures. After the SECOND time I still had issues. Know what the mall dentist said? That I needed root canals! Imagine! From suddenly-appearing and non-issue "cavities" to root canals within 6 weeks! I was not believing my ears and so I wanted another dentist, happened to be at another doctor and asked. So I explained my concerns to Dr. Salko and he asked if he could try to redo the fillings. As he was grinding away the hack-job from the prior dentist, Dr. Salko was verbally amazed at how poorly the other dentist's technique was. The fillings were those composite jobbers and require proper technique, otherwise issues arise like mine. 18 years later, I never had the root canals and have not had a problem since. Oh - I also don't grind my teeth (there is no evidence that I do), so the mall dentist was enriching his own pocket with that one. Since this work 18 years ago, my twice-a-year time with Dr. Salko consists of him wearing his microscopic glasses, poking around a couple places, and telling me that my teeth are looking great.
