Paul is a true professional. Took all of 10 minutes to diagnose an issue that 3 other service…read moreprofessionals (including the original installer) missed. After relocating to CT and purchasing an older home, I utilized a heating and plumbing contractor (listed on the CNG website) to install a new gas boiler. Three hours after the initial install, I called the contractor to inform him that the unit simply would not heat the house past 57 degrees. The contractor - a long time business located in Manchester (you can't miss the negative/dismal reviews on Yelp, Superpages, Yellow Pages & Business Finder) - started backpedaling immediately with ridiculous excuses including the suggestion that "the unit needs to run for 3 days before the whole house heats up"! I asked (on numerous follow-up phone calls/pleas) if the unit itself could be faulty and he was adamant that there was "no possible way". Two other service pros called in to help diagnose weren't much better with 1 suggesting a whole new system and the other indicating that the system was not sized correctly??? Suffice it to say, this was a $7500 nightmare with the original installer blowing smoke up my ... the whole time. Enter Glastonbury Burner and Boiler/Paul who quickly realized that the control module on the unit was in fact not operating correctly thus the reason why the unit wasn't getting up to temp and heating the house. Paul confirmed that the unit was actually a decent install, which was comforting yet disappointing as a simple follow up and effort by the original installer 3 years ago would have saved me many sleepless nights, high frustration and high utility bills. Save yourself the hassles and run around from many of the "specialists" out there and go with Glastonbury Burner and Boiler.

updating to 5 stars…read more i lost heat in-between evening and day yesterday, just my luck, but at least it wasnt the weeks before when it was seven below! lets recap my experience: i called up, spoke with erin (welcome to the team!!) and within 5 hours (YES SAME DAY!!!!), connor came by, kicked butt took names! he knew exactly what to check, did it 123 and viola, fixed! heats up and running, i guess the spark was gone, but now its back (it needed a new ignitor) while in process, he also pointed out a few things that could be done for next fall's tune up, like a brush out. silly me i thought thats what they did when i hired them, but that fine, im ok with paying for the labor cause all the parts (including yesterday issue) is included in my contract (very reasonable fyi!) so yea, upped to 5 stars because i am so dam happy i changed to emonds, straight fire as the kids are saying (pft, like they own hvac!)

I can't say enough great things about M.J. Edmonds! They were by far the friendliest and they had the best prices for quality units. They also didn't try to up sell us which every other company did. They were responsive and helpful throughout the entire process, including us getting the financing through Eversource and making sure we got the correct equipment to qualify for their energy program. The installation was seamless and both the furnace and the central air conditioning works SO great. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an install or servicing an existing unit.

Our first experience with Plumbums was excellent - we had an emergency issue, Jim was able to come…read moreout within an hour or two and get it fixed, and he was on his way. When our pipes froze during the big storm this January (thankfully, without water in them), we decided to hire Plumbums again. That didn't go as well. Quality of work: The fixes Jim suggested (a series of individual junction fixes) seemed reasonable for the repairs needed, but in some cases replacing whole sections would have been more time- and cost-efficient (according to other plumbers we've had in our home who have seen the work done). And we needed four return visits within our first three days living in the house to address issues that had not been resolved or that popped up as soon as we turned systems on. One problem (heat running constantly on our first floor, making the house over 80 degrees in the winter) was unresolved until I researched possible causes myself and communicated that to Jim, who sent out one of his guys to implement the fix. Professionalism: We were frustrated by the lack of care shown toward our property. Jim's guys left plumbing debris (not just the stuff our homeowner's insurance requested, but just straight-up trash), food trash, and drywall dust in our basement and living areas. This means that the first thing we had to do after driving 3,200 miles to move in was clean up after them. Drywall was removed roughly in several locations, and although patching was not included in the estimate, the cuts themselves appeared unnecessarily sloppy (and our new plumber neatly cuts and replaces drywall as a matter of course, leaving the mudding to us, which is fine). Plumbums did work well with our insurance company to get our claim handled, and ultimately we have working plumbing. But our experience wasn't great.
