I had a leak in my washing machine coming from the hoses that was leaking onto the basement floor. The plumber told me he didn't see any leak or water on the floor. I was told that there was another hose that needed to be replaced because it wasn't up to code. I was charged $700 for the replacement hose. The problem was not resolved, and when I called back to inform the plumber that the washing machine was still leaking, I was told to call an appliance tech because they don't repair washing machines. The plumber refused to refund me my money after I had explained that the leak had not been fixed, and the job was not resolved. Now I have to spend more money to have an appliance tech come out and assess the problem, and pay for any repairs. I was taken advantage of, for sure! read more

My 79 year old female neighbor had a drain clog in her condo She called Joe The Plumber in South Windsor which is a quarter mile from her condo.they came the next morning. Removed the toilet and snaked the line. Reinstalled the toilet and were done in less than one hour. They charged her $1800 dollars. Only a new seal between toilet and floor. About a 15 dollars part. What a way to take advantage of an elderly woman. Will make sure i let all my neighbors here at our 169 unit condo complex to never call them even though they are less than 2 minutes from here. We had a great experience with the guys from JTP. They fixed a couple issues on the spot and gave us helpful advice on some future projects.

I don't usually post things like this but they scammed the heckkkk out of my boyfriend. Was there 1 HOUR to unclog a pipe and fix a TINY leak in the basement and charged $900. Gave him so fake monthly deal discount to bring it down To $750. $750 for an hour of fixing a clogged pike and small leak? Cmon. You know what you did. Straight up scammers. You prayed on him knowing he was trying to get work done/busy and being a first time home owner and in the house for 2 weeks. Definitely avoid unless you're going to drop $1000 on something that takes 2 seconds by some local guy. Messed up huge on this one! Never ever again! read more

Shower arm pipe broke off of drop ear. They fixed the pipe but damaged our shower head in the process. Also charged us to look at our kitchen sink and tell us where the water was leaking from (anyone could see where the water was leaking from). Called to complain that they damaged our shower head. The plumber came back out to take a look at the shower head and said it was a defect in the shower head. It was not leaking before they came to fix the pipe. Had to complain that they charged us extra to look at the kitchen sink and then damaged our shower head. They said they would install a new shower head but we would have to buy it. They didn't end up fully installing it because a full install would cost more money. A really nightmare and a huge charge. read more

The technician did good work but $671 to snake a drain is outrageous. They were here for 20 minutes.

They stated on yelp that they had free estimates and could even do it remotely. Went through all of the questionnaire on the Yelp page and received a message from this company a few hours later telling me to call them in the morning. I called and was told that everything I did on yelp was absolutely pointless and that the only way that they would be able to give me an estimate was to have somebody come out to my home, which I told him wasn't happening during corona which is why I chose the online option for estimates. After everything on Yelp said they would do free estimates, the man then told me it was gonna cost $49 for him to send somebody out to my house and that would be on top of the repair. Mind you the only thing I need repaired is the little metal stick plunger that changes the water from coming out of the tub faucet to the showerhead. The service person could not have been kinder. I have no issue with the work. But I'm absolutely disgusted by the pricing...they wanted to charge me $446 to put in a kitchen faucet. I called and requested an appointment for a pressure test of the plumbing and a house I was looking to buy The woman on the phone was polite and was able to accommodate my request for an appointment time for 2 days in advance I was appreciative of this The problem comes in that they charge for an estimate which at least they are upfront about telling you but considering the task I was asking was very specific she could not give me a ballpark on what that style of service had typically cost in the past I was specific and explaining I was not looking for a quote to hold them to that I was just looking to know what I was getting into. all she could say was that's our policy We will only come out and do the quote and charge you at the time for the quote It is up to you at that point whether we continue. as I said she was polite and I can accept that they were up front with the policy but I think it's kind of crazy that in this day and age where customer service is so very important that they couldn't be bothered to make a quick phone call back and give a ballpark on something that hopefully they've done hundreds of times. At that point I decline the appointment and I called another plumber and they are doing the exact same thing except they are going to have a manager call me back and discuss the details. read more

I called and they were very quick to respond. While on site they had to wait till the town turned off the water supply so they could repair my leak. The tech waited and waited and the town couldn't turn off the leak until the following week. They came back promptly once the town returned and repaired the leak. Joe the plumber Would Not Recommend I used Joe the plumber to snake out a toilet main line. They told me that there was an $89 service call fee which I agreed to. Note that the fee is NOT waived if they perform the work. There was a fee of $379 to remove and reset the toilet! The cost to snake the drain was $574 for a total cost of $1,042. Wow! I questioned the cost but was told that the plumber was there for five hours. Funny, I received a call from the plumber regarding the job at 11:03 AM and received the invoice at 1:28 PM. Live and learn but here's the kicker, the drain backed up four days later and I called them on a Saturday and spoke with a rather rude customer service person who told me that if I look at the invoice, there's a note that the work was not guaranteed because there was a 90 degree angle in the line which I told them about when I initially called them. Note that I was never told that the work was not guaranteed until after I paid for the work and read the invoice. Joe the Plumber said they would be happy to come out for an $89 service call, $379 toilet removal and the cost of snaking the drain. In other words another $1,042. I asked to speak with the owner, he told me he couldn't do that now but he would have him call me on Sunday. I wound up having to call him on Monday to no avail. Wish I could leave -0- stars! WORST COMPANY EVER!! I've NEVER left a bad review for a company in my life. Joe the Plumber is outrageous!!! In 2017, they installed an AO Smith Hot Water Heater for me. It failed in 2022 and was replaced under it's 10 year warranty. However, the warranty only covered parts, not labor. That cost me another $1,000!!!! 15 months later, this month, it's failing again. Joe the plumber sends out Wayne (VERY professional, expert plumber) but Joe the Plumber charges me $180 to assess that AGAIN it's a warranty issue. But again, warranty only covers parts, not labor. Sooo - they order the part and it comes in and they installed it. Today. It took 30 minutes. Flat rate of $475 for 30 minutes of labor to install a part to correct a warranty fail!! But what choice did I have, I need hot water. Will be filling a complaint with the Department of Consumer Protection but in the meantime, want to warn others to NOT do business with Joe the Plumber. read more

Do not use Joe the Plumber. By far the worst customer service known to man. Joe was very rude to me, talked down to me, lied to me, and took no accountability. They screwed up and Joe would not take responsibility and make it right! I paid them almost $1200 to thaw out frozen pipes and put 5 huge holes in my kitchen ceiling, which I paid $1000 to repair. They shut water off and failed to find leak in shower, which then destroyed the ceilings yet again once the water was turned back on. The leak should have been found the first time and repaired. Joe said he would repair the shower leak for $650 and fix my ceiling. Not right!!! This all happened while trying to sell my house. This man has no compassion or care for others. None! We woke up to a tint leak in our basement. I called Joe the plumber and received a call back within about an hour letting me know someone would be out in 3 hours. (They gave a 2 hour time frame- and the guys were actually earlier than the time said) They replaced a section of copper piping in our utility room and were done within about an hour. I don't know standard pluming pricing, but I felt the price we paid was for for the quick service... since we had to turn our water off and wouldn't have been able to shower/etc until this got fixed. I was given a window of 2-5 that afternoon, but he called at 12:30 and said he could come then. Dylan knew what he was doing.
