As a little reminder, I was the outsider today. So I don't want to send the wrong message to a local celebrated Bar N Grill. Let me start by saying that Pine Hollow Road is a very busy street, with vehicles traveling at speeds in both directions, so be careful crossing. DEL'S BAR N GRILL does not have a parking lot. Parking on the streets are free except on Fridays which is limited by time so read the signs (pictures enclosed). I gave this establishment 3 stars on the food that I had. I am not representing the whole menu. *In fact i had the most delicious crunchy juicy buffalo drum sticks I have ever tasted in one sitting and that was for starters. I then ordered the Snouders Burger with fries. Burger was a bit greasy and unappetizing, fries were thin and over cooked. Fountain drinks lacked sweetness both for my ginger ale and my friend's coke, so order without ice if you can? Service was very attentive and polite. Tables opposite the bar sit high and there are a enough to satisfy a large crowd. There is a juke box on the wall. Today was fairly empty inside when I arrived. The TVs were a little loud with WHEEL OF FORTUNE not something interesting like sports. Separate Men's and ladies bathroom was clean and presentable with a strong electric hand dryer and almond smelling hand soap. Location of Wall ATM. Pricing was reasonable. All in all I would have to say that even though I wouldn't eat here again, to a local it looks like a good watering hole with friendly conversations. The Review Guru Long Island NY

Rum Runners wrap with skirt steak, mushrooms and chipotle

It's Friday and my wife and I wanted to eat somewhere different. Our friends agreed that we wanted to go to a local place. We selected Del's Bar and Grill in Oyster Bay, NY. We had eaten there before and were pleased with the food and serve. Tonight, we arrived for an early dinner. The bar was rocking and locals were enjoying each other's company. We sat down by the window and our waitress, Andrea, met us with a big smile. We talked and joked around with her. It was like visiting an old friend's home. We ordered our drinks and she came back quickly. I was surprised because she was bartending and serving the tables! She was delightful and talked with us and made us all feel special. We ordered a dozen Buffalo wings with Del's special BBQ sauce as our appetizer. They were amazing and we loved them. Three of us ordered the Angus 8 oz. burger with onion rings and one had the Rum Runners wrap with onion rings. Rum Runners wrap was marinated grilled skirt steak, sautéed mushrooms and chipotle sauce. It looked delicious and my friend loved it. The menu was full of references to Teddy Roosevelt and different buildings in Oyster Bay (e.g., Rum Runners, disco bar back in the 70s, Snouder's a building on Main St., the Baymen and Teddy's Boys). We took our time and enjoyed our friend's company. There was no rush at all. When we left Andrea smiled and thanked us. When we walked out we met some more friends, who asked how the food was, we all said it was great! Del's is a place to relax and enjoy the people you are with. If you're in Oyster Bay and want good food, great serve and a relaxing atmosphere, you should try Del's Bar and Grill. I know you will have a great experience. Stay healthy and be well!

Beginning in 2014, Bilello began homebrewing out of his backyard shed. By 2016, after working as an intern at Oyster Bay Brewing, he started looking for a space to open his own brick & mortar brewery. Bilello finally acquired a circa 1928 building in downtown Glen Cove and would spend the next two years renovating it. He chose the name "Noble Savage" as a reference to his way of life: to live nobly and have a noble vision, but be savage in your actions. After running out of money, Bilello initially opened the space as a craft beer bar before he generated enough revenue to get the brew system running. Within a few years, Noble Savage became nationally acclaimed for their small-batch hazy IPAs as well as Bilello's strict commitment to using 100% New York State-grown and floor-malted grains from the Hudson Valley. I recently visited Noble Savage while I was traveling through Long Island. They have been on my list since I read about them in Hop Culture Magazine. I arrived right as they opened for the day. The taproom has sort of a rustic feel to it. I pulled up a seat at the bar and looked over the draught menu. The staff were friendly and there seemed to be a small group of regulars stopping by for beers. Throughout my visit, I enjoyed short pours of "Unintended Consequences" (Dark Lager), "Compelling Insight" (New England IPA), "Psychedelic Hyperboost" (New England IPA), and "Vicarious Joy" (Double New England IPA). Everything was really good; I can see what all of the hype is about! Owner and brewmaster Frank Bilello was nice enough to chat with me for a few minutes, give me a tour of the brew system and even let me sample a green beer fresh from the tanks. If you're a serious craft beer drinker then keep Noble Savage on your radar!

I gotta start my review by (vaguely) quoting one of the Old Tappan Brewery workers (maybe owner?)…read more He said, in terms of New Hyde Park, that I'm in a "dead zone" when it comes to breweries. Dude, you're so right. Let this review be a call to my hometown to get the beer gears churning. Until then, I'll gladly head to northern Nassau to check out new breweries such as Old Tappan. You'll find this Gold Coast beer spot up in Bayville with small signage so be on the lookout. Once there, get ready for a little mesh of all things great about a brewery. Flights and crowlers? They got em. Barrels used as tables? A couple to drink around. Popcorn cart? Why yes, with some condiments to boot. This is all fine and dandy, but the most important aspect is the beer. So how'd that go? By acting as the beer liaison (or designated driver), I kept myself honest and stuck with a pint while letting my chum handle the flight action. My glass was filled with Old Tappan's Hopped Red Ale which had a malty crisp taste with a subtle hint of bitterness, pretty much exactly what I was expecting. My buddy cleared the rest of the available brews by getting tasters of Bobcats American Bitter, Pine Island IPA, Bog Monster NEIPA, and Easy Peasy English Mild. Despite driving, I did sample a sip of each just out of curious desire. It must have been something to do with brews that start with "B" because Bobcats and Bog Monster were decent, but tad off on flavor. Pine Island, though classified as a West Coast IPA, was beautifully balanced and possibly my favorite (even more than my red ale pint). Easy Peasy also did the trick by having a semi-rich smooth taste that would've been great as a full pour. So 3/5 ain't bad for quality brews. I will say the poster for Aggie's Freak-Out Oatmeal Stout was intriguing and something that might bring me back in. Overall, don't let the beers I enjoyed be a factor in Old Tappan's Yelp score. This place was a solid 4 stars with every chance of improving further. A real shoutout has to be given to both workers as well because they were super friendly and personable. Old Tappan is still rocking the brand spankin' new brewery feel and so I look forward to returning as they continue to firmly supplant themselves in the LI beer scene. Hey, and maybe they'll get big enough to eventually open a second spot in NHP? Maybe? A guy can dream.

There are places you go to grab a drink, and then there are places you genuinely look forward to…read more Six Harbors Brewing Company, nestled in the heart of Huntington Village, firmly belongs in that second category -- and I say that as someone who has been there a dozen times and counting. Founded in May 2018 by Huntington residents Mark and Karen Heuwetter after three years of hard work and planning, Six Harbors holds the proud distinction of being Huntington Village's first and only micro-brewery. And from the moment you walk in, you understand why the community embraced it so enthusiastically. The vibe is nautical meets industrial -- casual but polished, comfortable and undeniably inviting. It feels less like a commercial establishment and more like a really cool friend's living room, which is entirely by design. Mark and Karen are hands-on owners who have a genuine gift for making every patron feel welcome. The beer is excellent. There's a solid lineup of year-round staples alongside rotating seasonal options, which means there's always something new to try. That variety keeps every visit feeling fresh -- you never quite know what's going to be on tap, and that's half the fun. The food menu is intentionally simple: personal pizzas, giant pretzels, and North Fork potato chips. But here's the thing -- you're welcome to bring outside food, which is a refreshingly customer-friendly policy that you don't see everywhere. Now, here's what truly sets Six Harbors apart, and I say this with full sincerity: the dogs. Yes, Six Harbors is dog-friendly -- well-behaved, leashed pups are welcome at all times. But the real stars of the show are Buddy, Barley, and Brandy, three gorgeous golden retrievers affectionately known as "The Brew Dogs." They belong to Mark and Karen, and they come to work every day. These three are among the sweetest, most gentle dogs you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting. Petting them takes your visit from great to truly amazing! And it doesn't stop there. Mark and Karen go above and beyond to celebrate their four-legged community. Throughout the year, Six Harbors hosts Yappy Hours, dog meet-ups, a Halloween costume party, a December ugly sweater party, and even birthday celebrations for the Brew Dogs themselves. (Just recently, we had the pleasure of attending Barley's seventh birthday -- an event that can only be described as pure, unfiltered Cuteness Overload.) It's no surprise that Six Harbors and the Brew Dogs have been featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show, NBC News, CBS, Buzzfeed, and more. Whether you're a craft beer enthusiast, a dog lover, or simply someone who appreciates a place with genuine warmth and character, Six Harbors Brewing Company is worth the trip. Highly, enthusiastically recommended!!

Even though there was a huge crowd, the bartenders kept up with the demand. I never waited more than 5 minutes for a beer and there were hundreds of people there. I didn't try the food truck because I desperately wanted to try their homemade pretzels. They were perfect. Hot, soft, and chewy; the mustard that came with them was excellent. I like that they are dog friendly. I would like it more if they were a little more kid friendly too. I guess we will stick to the very crowded days so my toddler doesn't stand out in the crowd. I worry in quiet days, he wouldn't be welcomed since he is deep into the twos. IYKYK.
