I've been here a bunch over the years since they opened up. Love the quality foods and atmosphere. Servers are attentive and the venue is well kept. During the winter months I'd do takeout and every time the food was great at home. I love their soba noodles salad when it's in season, however they switched to a different noodle and it doesn't have the same oomph! The owner recognizes me from all the times I've been there for dining in, takeout, called, and parties and events. I went there again last night with some family and overall it was very nice. One star deduction for the rudeness we received from the manager. She came over after we ordered a second bottle of the Freemark Abbey (wine) (as they were completely out and the first bottle we ordered was their last bottle in stock) and gave us two "similar" options that were around the same price of the first bottle. Price doesn't equal to taste. We first asked if it's okay to try it even if we may not like it, and she kindly proceeded to open the bottle. We said "no thanks," to the Keever (it tasted disgusting in comparison), which she and her colleague highly suggested, and we asked nicely if the other bottle was an option to try, but she swiftly walked back inside with both bottles and brought out an open bottle of the Katherine Cab. We liked that better. She stormed away after she said something fast and nasty like "It's either the bottle or you have to pay per glass." We didn't quite catch it but the ultimatum put a bad taste in everyone's mouths. We wound up ordering the Katherine Cab. When we got the bill the server charged us fairly. We tipped well because it's not the server's fault she was upset about opening the wine that she pushed. Happy eats! read more

I came here recently on a Monday afternoon around 12:30PM to meet up with my friend. This spot is located in a strip mall with a large free parking lot. We were seated right away upon entering and had no reservations. The place wasn't busy at that time. The inside decor was beautiful and our waitress was very sweet and patient with us as we took awhile to order because we were catching up plus being indecisive with all the menu options. My friend ended up ordering the Short Rib Bolognese and I ordered the Shrimp Tagliatelle. I was told the tagliatelle was made in house and it was absolutely delicious and DID in fact taste like it was freshly made! I tried some of my friends dish and there was a lot of meat in her dish (a positive!) and it was also extremely delicious! Bonus is that this restaurant is a few stores down from Marshalls and I'm a HUGE fan of Marshalls so I went there after to walk off everything I ate as well as shop :) read more

The service was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Two appetizers, entree with a choice of side and drinks were all delicious, fresh, and perfectly cooked and seasoned. The loft-style eatery overall vibe along with the menu focus is a key element to the relaxed, inviting atmosphere and a well-designed bar area. Once seated, the staff made us feel welcome, appreciated, and understood. We ordered a meatball appetizer which was particularly good. But my seared tuna entrée was delightful; it was so flavorful and perfectly cooked, making it standout on the menu. This restaurant had me saying wow with every bite I took. We got the tuna tartar, octopus, and some wings for an appetizer. Everything was ridiculously good. for dinner I got the shrimp over risotto and it was one of the best things I've ever eaten. The drinks were great, and the blueberry peach cobbler was the cherry on top. Absolutely amazing.. I really can't say enough good things and I highly recommend giving this place a try.. Had dinner here last night, place was packed, nice dark modern upscale pub feel, my three companions loved their meals, I however, did not. This is not a criticism of the restaurant, my issue is the $26 MB burger. Who would think a burger here would be tasteless and overcooked, I ordered medium and it was served on a stale roll with maybe nine steak fries and the smallest wilted pickle wedge I've ever seen. The tomato was mealy and slithered off the burger as I ate. The fries were delicious but $26 is absurd in a restaurant of this caliber, so disappointed. I won't be back. read more

Came here to catch up with a great friend the other day for lunch. I had never been inside but there is a lot of seating and ample space between tables. Our waitress was very attentive and while we didn't order any appetizers, we didn't have to wait long for our entrees or our drinks. I ordered the braised short rib with a side of French fries and it was incredible. The meat fell apart and paired beautifully with the veggies and fries. My friend had the short rib bolognese and he loved it. I'm glad he asked to go here because I could see myself coming back. It is on the pricier side but the food is worth it! read more

Food - My guest and I went for dinner and ordered a salad and the pan-seared tuna entree. They tasted fresh and delicious. The non-alcoholic drink with pineapple base was also excellent. Service - We were about 25 minutes late, but were thankful to be seated to our reserved table. Next time if I'm late, I will make sure to call to let them know. Our waiter was friendly and attentive to our needs throughout our visit. Ambiance - Typical for a bar and restaurant, dimmed lighting but it was a bit too loud for us to hold a conversation. Went to Dinner with my girlfriend and her family last night at Market Bistro, apparently this is one of their favorite spots, and we have also heard high compliments about it from a manager at another restaurant, so this was the choice for the evening. Interesting location, inside a mini mall in Jericho, ample parking, but you wouldn't expect this type of restaurant to be here, but it is. Place was jumping, Saturday night, lots of tables. Had a reservation for 8, got there 8:05, sat down, and a few minutes later these two kids bumped into my gf cause they were messing around, those darn kids. Anyway, the 2 stars essentially comes from the service, Alex our waiter was a good guy, personable, friendly, helpful with the menu, and was able to get the food out timely. The table got Tuna Tartare (weird taste, warm, not great) D+ Cornbread (Warm, Best app) B+ Flatbread (Very Flavorful, Very Greasy) C Fish Tacos (Way Too Salty, No Taste) D Turkey Burger/ Tater Tots (Ok) B Regular Burger/ Fries Ok) B Short Rib Quesadilla (Ok) B All of the potatoes and a lot of the mains were crazy salty, everything had way too much salt, made the food taste pretty bad. The drinks also weren't great. I had the Bourbon Smash which tasted Watered Down, not mixed well, and my gf got the Pear Martini which tasted like Cough Syrup to me. Was not a great restaurant choice, probably won't return, many other places are a better choice. read more

BLUF, a little pricey but a good spot for a quick, high quality lunch. Wanted to give this place five stars, but I just couldn't given the expense. Yeah, I get it...it's in Jericho. But there were only a handful of menu items that were in what I'd consider an acceptable price range for a non-dinner menu (under $30) other than appetizers or salads with no proteins. That said, I got myself the brisket quesadillas which were outstanding. I can't pass up brisket anywhere, and glad I didn't do it here either. We went here on a Tuesday night. We had reservation for 5:00, but we arrived a little late. There were plenty of tables inside and out. In fact it was quite quiet. We started off sharing crispy brussel sprouts, which came with a cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was delicious but the brussel sprouts can stand alone. They're good! We also shared the meatballs, which everyone loved. Two in our party ordered cheeseburgers. They loved them. One person had the duck, which is the second time he's ordered it. He loved it. All three ordered fries, which they said were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I had the halibut which was perfect. I love the relish it came with. It was cooked to perfection. It was a nice size piece as well. As a side, I ordered the 3 grain salad. The portion was absolutely huge! I loved everything in that salad, the quinoa, faro, cranberries etc. and it was dressed perfectly with the sherry vinaigrette. We shared two desserts, the flourless chocolate cake and the cherry and vanilla gelato. I don't really care for flourless cakes, but everyone else loved it. The star to me was the gelato parfait. Order it if you go. I would go back here again. read more

Great lunch spot! We went here after a late morning stroll. Thanks to other Yelpers, we found Market Bistro. It's in a small shopping complex and unassuming from the outside. The inside has nice, warm vibes with a cool looking bar. Braised short ribs, corn bread, and octopus were all done perfectly and would get it again, for sure. The French onion soup was pretty good. The margarita was okay, nothing crazy to write about. I have to say the the staff was EXCELLENT. Only had the tuna tartar and a drink at the bar but giving it four stars for overall quality and a good ambiance imagined in the middle of a strip mall. The crowd skews a bit older but seems like a good place to meet for a drink or dinner. The bartender wasn't too friendly but the hostess made up for it with her energy. Tuna tartar was definitely overpriced for the quality but wasn't bad - it was served with cucumber, an aioli type of sauce and some homemade potato chips. My friend and I came here for dinner last week. The restaurant is located in a mall complex, so I didn't expect it to be as trendy as it was. The venue has a very modern yet rustic feel to it with brick walls behind the sprawling, illuminated liquor display set in oak. The lighting was low and inviting. This could be a good date spot or an evening out with friends/family. The host was aloof and impatient with my request to be seated further away from the door (which he ultimately did not accommodate). The actual waiter, Joe or Joey, was much nicer and candid with his recommendations. For appetizers, we had the Coconut Shrimp Tacos and the Grilled Octopus. Both were good but nothing to write home about. The shrimp was too breaded and a little too crispy but the slaw that came with it added a much-needed refreshing zest. The Octopus was a little overdone but flavored well. For entrees, my friend and I shared the Pan Seared Tuna and the Organic Chicken. The tuna was fresh and seared nicely. The soba noodles that accompanied the tuna were OK. They could have omitted the beets and carrots, which only crowded the plate and did not add much dimension to the flavor profile. I would still recommend this entree. The organic chicken was well flavored and succulent, even the part that was comprised of white meat. For dessert, we had the bread pudding with peanut butter chocolate chip ice cream. It was delicious! The bread pudding was soft and buttery while the ice cream added a layer of nutty deliciousness. I took a star off for the cold host but I would still return as I enjoyed my meal and appreciated the graciousness of our waiter. read more

We had literally paid the bill only 5 minutes before, when the hostess came running over to our table to let us know that we had been there for 2 1/2 hours and people were waiting for a table so we needed to leave. came here for a late lunch this afternoon. love the ambiance here it's a pretty cool spot especially for being located in a strip mall. the service was really good as well as the drinks. the food was just ok. my husband had a chicken sandwich which he enjoyed. i had a strawberry salad with panko crusted chicken cutlet. the chicken had no flavor and was somehow burnt and soggy all at once. the salad was decent just needed a bit of seasoning. it was definitely not a $30 dish in my eyes. we were absolutely starving so we still ate everything! read more

I was in shock to see how crowded it was for lunch. The tables here are very close together, so I pretty much heard other patrons conversations. My friend wanted to try their butternut squash ravioli and wow it was amazing!!!! Our waitress was great but very busy. It was bit annoying when we needed new plates,drinks or utensils but again I understand why. She recommended a full order of ravioli for us to share which ended up a great recommendation. It was so savory! Great fresh pasta and great quality ingredients used. We also order their pot of mussels. Very good as well. I enjoyed the one hot crisp piece of bread that came with it. This is more of a 3.5 star kind of place. We had reservations at 6:30 & were seated right away. I started with the drink Perfect Pear, which was pretty good. For dinner I had the roasted chicken & veggies which was ok at best. For dessert, we ordered the hot apple crisp (it was good). The coffee was ok. The prices were typical for Long Island. Ambience was ok and the service was ok. Our waitress had a bit of an attitude, but we made the best of it. We were in good company, so it was good time. A solid choice for dinner out. We started with wine and mine was a "super tuscan" excellent. Ice tea was fresh brewed. The onion soup was ok, nothing special. I had a caesar salad with grilled shrimp. Excellent shrimp and fresh anchovy crisp lettuce, excellent. The side of corn bread was delicious and ample for the table of 4. A friend had the cavatelli with shrimp, the pasta was clearly freshly made with ample shrimp and clams. For desert we split a strawberry blackberry crisp which was one of the best I've ever had. The vanilla ice cream was freshly made, the fruit in the crisp was not two sweet and you tasted the fruit. An excellent choice. The service was good. Sometimes hard to get a reservation, it's pretty crowded (for good reason). A lovely & cool local restaurant with awesome food and drinks. A go to spot for a nice dinner but nothing too crazy. It def does get crowded, both the restaurant and the bar, and the place is on the smaller side. But, it hasn't bothered me before, and the staff seems to handle it well. I'd recommend for a nice dinner and drinks. Better than average but nothing too insane for the area price and ambiance wise. read more

Went to Market Bistro for the first time on Saturday and was very impressed. Despite being located in a strip mall and having its facade under major renovation, the restaurant's interior was warm and inviting and out of place for this area, but in a good way. It was packed, but my date and I were lucky that there was a cancellation (we hadn't been able to get a reservation, but went anyway) and we got seated quickly. The service was attentive and our waiter was knowledgeable and enthusiastic when recommending the duck entree. It was restaurant week, but we decided to order from the regular menu. We started with the goat cheese, arugula and pear flatbread, which was very good, and the butternut squash ravioli which was excellent. The later could have benefited from a bit more sage in the brown butter sauce, but was still delicious--creamy and sweet fillings and thin delicate shell...yum. I had the shrimp and wild mushroom risotto, which was flavorful and cooked "just right." My my date's Duck was to die for. Medium rare is the way to go when having good duck. The flavor and texture were on point. I couldn't stop picking from his dish. Lol. Needless to say, I brought half of my entree and flatbread app home. Which is where MB loses a star. There was a long straight dark hair in my container of flatbread when I got home (I have curly hair and my date was bald) and so I had to throw it away. Which made me sad because it was so good. I was so turned off by the hair that I threw away the leftover shrimp and risotto as well. Total bummer. The cocktails were delightful, especially the Perfect Pear. So, I might return again. But I will ask to pack my own leftovers next time. read more
