Delta is always my first go to for flights when traveling. I remember back in the early 2000's that's all I flew was Delta. The customer service is great, they keep me safe, and love the sky miles rewards. I remember when I was young, I donated my miles to the military so that they can see their families during tough times. It was a great feeling. What I love about delta is they provide better snacks on the plane, complimentary ear plugs to watch movies and the monitors on front of your seats to play games and watch shows. There are delays of course but not due to them, just Mother Nature. I will always choose Delta. They are reliable, safe and reasonable in pricing. read more

I've flown Delta a few times in and out of Cincy with no major incidents. The most recent was a small delay of 15-20 min boarding. These days not a major deal. Good flight crew and yummy Biscotti cookies. I will continue to use Delta. 3.5 seems to fit best. read more

We flew Delta in April 2023 from Cincinnati to Boston and had a great experience! We usually just book with whatever airline has the cheapest flights so it is not like we are dedicated to just flying with one airline. Whenever we fly Delta though we have always had a good experience. We were able to check in at one of the many kiosks with no wait time and print our boarding passes within minutes. The whole crew was very friendly and welcoming and it was 6am! The plane was very clean and seemed to be almost new. We were giving complimentary drinks and snacks during the flight and the captain actually got us in 25 minutes early. The plane was also only about half full which was an added bonus of getting to stretch out. read more

Also keep in mind if you get the Amex Delta skymiles card you get access to your own concierge for bookings and if you have the Amex platinum or reserve you can get priority boarding and access to thousands of American Express Centurion lounges and Amex Escape lounges. First time flying First Class in a long time, but when you buy your ticket 12 hours prior to leaving, you don't have much of a choice. The plane was comfortable, the folks were really nice on the flight. On the way, the first class amenities were drinks, ear phones, and 2 bags of snacks. On the way home it was drinks, ear phones, elegant snack boxes. I don;t know why the difference, but I'm flying the same flight this next week. I'll see if its any different. read more

Learn from my mistake! Delta vacation is NOT Delta. I canceled (within 24 hrs) a DV trip that I booked with both SkyMiles and a credit card. I received a refund for the credit card and a partial reimbursement of SkyMiles. When I called about the remaining SkyMiles, I was told that they would give me an evoucher but that it would only be redeemable at DV (not Delta). She told me that they are not the same company. First thought--weird since I already received partial reimbursement for the SkyMiles. Secondly, she couldn't provide written documentation that I had agreed to forfeit some portion of payment if I cancelled within 24 hrs. read more

Unfortunately, Lexington's Bluegrass Airport doesn't have a nonstop flight to San Francisco. When flying with a pet, this is a must. Having to connect, especially when delays can be an issue, will only lead to anxiety when traveling. I used miles to upgrade to Comfort Class, a worthwhile opton for me. Everyone from the ticket counter, ground staff, and flight crew, were friendly and accommodating. Let's face it, air travel can be stressful these days. I flew with delta airlines on 1-4-22 out to Ohio for a storm. They lost both of my bags.... I landed at 9am yesterday morning and didn't receive one of my bags till 7pm that day. They still can not find my climbing bag full of tools.... It is now 1-5-22 and i have not received any phone call from them on the whereabouts of my bag. There is about 4k worth of tools in there. I would highly recommend not flying with delta airlines. They have done nothing to help me find my bags.... I fly frequently with them I'm a delta sky member and this is the way they treat me... It's very easy to complain about an airline, especially when there are mechanical delays (which are considered within the airline's control). But it's how they respond to those delays that matters to me. And so when I found myself with a bonus four hours here at CVG, I was ready to complain. At 8:15 the SkyClub closed. At 8:30, the restaurants and the shops were closed. But just before all of that happened, the gate agent acquired about 50 Chick-Fil-A sandwiches and set them out for my fellow passengers who were stuck. Gold star, dear. Well done. Yep, getting to Charlotte at 1:45 AM instead of 9:15 PM was no fun. But at least this gate agent made an effort to make it less painful. read more

I just had the worst experience with delta airlines flying out of CVG airport. I was attempting to fly to nyc and their were cancelations and delays which I understand is not the people working at the airlines fault but I was trying to figure this situation out with the woman at the gate desk (Jamie or Janie) and she was so rude and condescending. When she walked away from me and thought I was out of earshot she started speaking about me to her colleague. When another passenger came up to the desk with the same concerns I had I saw her treating that customer the same way but she went on to tell them about my wife which was very unprofessional. She should not have been discussing my personal information with a person I do not know. I expressed my concerns about this (I did not curse at the woman but I did curse while talking on the phone with my wife) and immediately went to get what they called a "supervisor" (a redcoat) and explained to her (Jennifer) what had just happened and even said that I cursed on the phone but not towards the other woman. She then pulled out her phone to show me the "radar" showing the bad weather and aggressively speaking to me and tapping her phone. She then canceled my flight and sent me on my way without anyway to get to nyc. When I went to try to book another flight somehow with the ticketing agent and explained what happened I was told I was banned from flying for the day because I was aggressive. I pleaded for them to look at the cameras and they said there was nothing that I could do and to check other airlines and just wouldn't hear me out at all. I know delta has billions of dollars and doesn't really care about me or my business but I will never fly with them again. read more

It's not that Delta is a five star airline; far from it. However, given the recent brutalities and atrocities committed by other airlines, I'm more than happy to call Delta my preferred airline. Are there delays? Sure! I'm experiencing one right now! Are the seats and trays always clean? No, but usually not so bad that a hot towel won't fix the issue. Are the flight attendants friendly? YES! This is a HUGE change from the Delta of yesteryear. BUT, my favorite Delta trait is their reputation for having the best pilots in the world. For someone who travels as often as I do, this is highly evident in their take-offs, landings, handling of rough air, and professionalism; they even stand at the exit, thanking me for flying Delta, as I exit the plane. Any issue I've had with Delta since June 2016 has been addressed with points, miles, apologies; whatever was appropriate for the inconvenience. The point is that Delta has recently made an obvious shift toward being more customer-focused, and while it experiences some of the same challenges as other airlines, it does so apologetically and tries to rectify any negative experience. In their flight class and price range, I consider them to be at the top. I'm not always happy on Delta, but I'm always confident I'll get to my destination safely and that if I'm truly inconvenienced, Delta will eventually make it up to me. read more

In the customer service world, our opinions of an entire company could rest on some of the lowest paid employees. This is why customer service training is so important. Up to this point I had a great experience on this airlines and was about to write a really good review. As my luggage made its way from the conveyor to me I saw my bag all taped up. An employee had used athletic tape to keep my luggage from falling apart. It was damaged so bad that I had to carry this very heavy suitcase to the car as it would not roll. My nice luggage did not even rate duct tape -I just knew there might be an apology letter inside. No letter awaited me as I opened the suitcase in anticipation. There was a video produced called United Breaks Guitars which was watched millions of times on YouTube when United failed to fix a broken guitar or replace the guitar. It's worth watching! In hindsight, United would like to rethink that decision. Thinking about my suitcase, I hope Delta does a better job fixing their planes! As I stated I believe Delta has made many improvements to their airlines. It's hard being good at service while we are being patted down or having people rummage through my suitcase. However, i also want to be safe. On this particular day, Delta lost a chance to wow me with service. I was a little angry at the time and blamed the entire airlines even though I never spoke with anyone about what had happened. Everyone in an organization must be trained in customer service as we will blame the entire company based on the mistake of a low level employee. read more

We save our mile and we purchase first class tickets. Delta never delivered first class service. Delta flight staff were rude and never delivered flight class food and service. Flight from Salt Lake City to Cincinnati was fourth class service. I cup of coffee , very cold breakfast burrito in which eggs were not cooked ( dangerous).Delta made NO attempt to make it correct. Found a banana from previous flight. They did not care. I would like a refund from first class to coach because we dis not received first class service. It's absolutely ridiculous how much nickel and diming is done by the airline industry. We all know how expensive tickets are. Whether it be the airlines or the airports, its at a point of insanity. $27 for a chicken sandwich!!! You pay for drinks, pay for entertainment....and so forth. Then after absolutely insane prices all the flights are oversold, planes are in need of basic maintenance ( my chairs cushion was no longer attached so it kept sliding around) and basic cleaning. Nothing works. We were delayed on both of our flights due to technical issues with equipment. The airports are even worse, with very little being done to accommodate the guests. It's absolutely gross how much money is made just so they can find new ways to get ya. Our parking was $85. Let that sink in. $85 to let your car sit. It's sad that we the people allow it. They hold the cards and we take what we are given. Maybe time to rethink who gets our money. Delta for as much as you make, you could be the premier experience, you choose not to be. I am very disappointed with this airline. Me and my wife made sure to abide to the rules and regulations for carry on bags. By the time they allowed us to get on the plane they stated there was no more room on the plane for carry on and we would have to check our bags. We were very disappointed but figured there was nothing they could do. Once on the plane there was WAY MORE than enough room to place our bags, but they would still not let us carry them on. We sat on the plane for three hours before taking off due to "minor weather complications" the charging stations for the phones and electronics appliances did not work at your seat. They did not allow us to get off the plane even though they knew there was a delay before we boarded. During this wait we got one little bottle of water and that is it. I am very very disappointed with delta. Only reason they got two stars was due to them helping with connecting flights. read more

I have flown mostly Delta for over 30 years, for pleasure not business, and I've never really had a big issue. I've tried several other airlines, but Delta was always the winner for me. I recently flew from CVG to Portland, OR, via MSP outbound, and ATL inbound. Our flight from MSP to Portland was on a newer 737 and had the nice individual screens on the back of the seat headrest. This was a first for us. However, we never had the opportunity to purchase ear buds (we did not have any with us) SO we never got to watch a movie! Our return flight of 4 1/2 hours sold us ear buds so we watched 2 movies - which made "time fly". On our return flight to Atlanta, our checked bag was searched by TSA - we had 2 local Oregon honey glass bottles packed in plastic bags & tucked into shoes to keep from breaking and I guess they looked suspicious on X ray? I had no problem with them searching the bag, BUT it would have been nice if they had placed the honey back in the bag - it could have leaked into my shoes! The flight attendants did a great job as usual, despite crowded conditions and bumpy weather! I always wonder why they should NOT be tipped - the guys that check bags at the curb, and on shuttles, are usually tipped and they don't do near as much work OR put up with as much from people as the flight attendants do!! read more

I'm usually not one to complain, but agent Donald told me today in so many words that I am only a number to Delta regardless of the face I have accumulated more than 100,000 miles in their frequent flier program. I came to the airport early, bag was put on a direct flight to destination however I was told I could not change to this flight regardless of the fact that there were 8 open seats. My original flight was then delayed by maintenance to the point of missing the connection and I was put on another flight that also got delayed due to mechanical/maintenance issues, so now I am wasting another day of vacation because of Delta's incompetence. read more

It not obvious that Delta knows how to coordinate their planes or staff. After many delayed and rescheduled flights over 3 days I finally only got home by purchasing another ticket on a different carrier. Communications from Delta was poor and they offered no concessions. While there may be some staff that care, it's clear the management doesn't. Calling them only put me on hold indefinitely. Standing in the long help line was the only way to speak to someone that was willing to try to help. The gate agents just referred me to the long help line. My experience was not limited to this airport. The situation in Memphis was the same. My luggage, that made it to my destination 2 days earlier than me, luckily was easy to find in the many hundreds of bags awaiting retrieval, thanks to a baggage claim employee. I will not be eager to fly Delta again soon. read more

Return trip was uneventful- so that's good! I upgraded to economy comfort since I took the red eye home. No problems. Flight left and arrived pretty much on time. No problems with my luggage. Flight attendants were nice - not the best, but nice. Will try Southwest next time though - even if we have to fly from Dayton - because they don't charge for the first two bags AND no change fee! read more

Completely awful their customer service is so busy I stay on hold for 3 hours on 4 separate occasions, they will hang up whenever they want, and their messenger only listens to what it wants to. Bad show this time Delta. Arrived on time from Nashville (BNA) and went to my connecting gate for my trip to Hartford CT, only to find out it was delayed. And it kept getting pushed back and back and I am writing this as I still sit and wait. The incoming flight was delayed due to maintanence. Then they sent a new plane instead. Then, our crew was "somewhere in the terminal but were not expecting to leave so soon". Then we didn't know where our crew was. So now, there is apparently a crew on its way from a different flight. Over a two hour delay. I am glad I did not have any connections to make once I land but you know, a food voucher would have gone a long way to smoothing over a delay as well. Apologies wear a little thin when they just keep happening. Again....bad show Delta. Update. Just shy of a three hour delay. read more
