We flew allegiant air out of Cincinnati go to Orlando. It's not their fault I guess but we had a nine hour delay that day and that really put a damper on our plans. The airplanes sell for not the most spacious and you have to pay if you want to drink or anything. The cheap flights are a farce as you are charged an inordinate amount of various fees that at least quadruple the price! In my last experience, I tried to cancel my flight due to a work schedule 26 hours after I booked it and incurred all kinds of additional charges because I missed the cutoff to cancel by 2 hours. Today, upon return from vacation, I was charged an additional $211.02 on my credit card through Alamo when my rental car was supposed to be included in my Allegiant "bundle". In addition, the rental car that we initially rented was making noises and needed to be returned. Which took us an hour to drive to the rental company and back from where we were staying. When we returned the car for an exchange, we were given a smaller car than reserved. Additionally, when you try to contact customer service either by phone or live chat you wait anywhere from 10-45 minutes for them to respond. Still waiting as I type! Don't be fooled by "cheap flights" you will be charged so many fees and random charges that I wish I had just gone with another commercial flight company. Don't go for the car rental bundle! It's cheaper to rent a car outside of Allegiant! In finally speaking with a representative. The additional $211.02 was for taxes, fees, and surcharges! My rental car for 5 days was over twice the actual amount bundled. I asked the customer service agent where it stated those fees were extra and he said in the booking. I looked there it only says "Additional Taxes" not included. Then he closed the chat without replying. After an hour trying to resolve it, nothing. The line to check your bags was quite extensive- 6 back to back flights going out and 3 staff members handling the ticket printing/checking bags and just plain answering questions. This was the 1-2 star part of the process. They did have another staffer out trying to help passengers avoid the line or move them to VIP if their flight was getting close to boarding. The terminal & plane staff was highly efficient getting everyone boarded and we actually left the gate 10 minutes early! I don't think I have ever been aboard a plane that left early! I was zone 3 and had no issues getting aboard and finding my seat quickly. This was a 4-5 star boarding! The pricing is inexpensive- but they nickle and dime you for bags, carry on, seat selection, printing tickets at the airport and for drinks and snacks in flight. read more

Disappointed the baggage charge has increased to $45 per checked bag, a 40# limit, and with front counter staff who couldn't be bothered even with very few people in line. Booked a round trip from CVG to Key West. Return flight was canceled 5 hours the morning of. Luckily we found a flight on another airline ourselves; no help from Allegiant. Employee at Key West airport says they cancel every week the same flight. Allegiant gave $150 trip voucher; which I would be afraid to use, & returned our one-way ticket purchase. This was my first time flying with Allegiant from the Northern Kentucky Airport, but I flown with Allegiant countless times to and from LEX. I must say that from a local level, I've always had good experiences to and from LEX and my two experiences from this location was no different. Just so you know, it's a budget airline so to speak. You have to pay for every single perk that you can think of. There is baggage fees for even carry-on luggage. So, if you're traveling with a partner, instead of paying two fees for each to carry-on a smaller suitcase, you might want to consider splitting one checked luggage instead of two carry-ons. I did that once with my mom for a cruise trip. At first, I thought it was a smart move, until she showed me what all she was packing... so you make to really know your travel companion is you choose this option. You are allowed to carry one personal item/bag. This can include a purse or backpack. I have a perfect sized small duffle that I've used for a 5 day trip. I didn't even have to bring or pay for a carry-on or checked bag. I pack super light though. All of the Allegiant flights (that I know of) are nonstop. No layovers or flight changes, make up the extra price point of the baggage fees (in my opinion). The destination of choice for me was Denver. I was surprised to find that Denver is also a destination of Frontier, another discount airline from this same airport. Since there are two similar options, I feel like it makes the price cheaper. I mean sometimes dirty cheap. Too cheap for me to quote. The booking process online is quite smooth, especially once you learn to navigate the site and the check-in process. This summer don't pick Allegiant. Under staffed and inexperienced staff. Check in is a nightmare. We had already checked in on line but had to check our bag at the counter. Allegiant doesn't offer self checkin and drop off. Big mistake. They had 4 flight leaving around the same time, over 200 people in line to check baggage. Stood there so long , no one ever telling anyone what to do. A airport staff said the flight will wait for you . Big mistake, no they won't. By the time we got to the counter it was too late for them to take our bags. We had to bring them to the gate. We had two small children, a car seat, a booster, 2 checked big bags. We then had to run, no one to assist us. No customer service. By the time we got to the terminal realized they we flying out of the delta terminal. Small delay. So by the time we got to the gate they had closed the door. Too late. We had gotten there more than 2 hours before the flight. They told us we could rebook the flight for 222.00. I couldn't believe it. Bull shit It wasn't our fault. The employees at the gate did say it happens every weekend not enough staff , bad logistics. We finally rebook to a airport 60 miles away. We then had to rent a car and drive to our destination. We got to our condo for our family vacation at 2 am in the morning. Thanks Allegiant for a hell start. read more

Once someone finally does show up they respond "You need the app to do 'such and such'" even when the app is seizing to work at all. Our flight was scheduled to leave at 6:00 PM on June 30th. The gate was very full of excited people who were supposed to be flying to Fort Lauderdale. My husband checks his phone and sees the flight is delayed in the Allegiant app. I checked Flight Aware and Google which both said on time. I went to the desk at the gate and no one was there. I asked other passengers what was going on, they said they didn't know either but someone who works for Allegiant was at the desk just long enough to tell them, "I don't know what's going on. Just sit still." So they did. I checked the Departures board, said on time. 15 minutes later, everyone's phones go off. Allegiant sent a TEXT to all passengers about the delay. Not ONE human interaction!! We go get dinner. We are waiting in the USO for our now 8:18 PM flight. I'm checking my phone every five minutes since not one person could tell us anything. 35 minutes before we should board, we get another TEXT. This time, it's CANCELLED! I furiously went to the gate desk. Once again, NOT ONE HUMAN is there to tell us what's going on. Just a lot of angry passengers. I ask any employee I can find, where can I get help? Every single person I asked said to Google it and call Allegiant. I tried but "due to the cancellation of your flight, we are experiencing high call volumes." Couldn't get through. Now we are panicking about where our luggage is. Once again NOT ONE PERSON could tell us where it was. Finally, after my daughter and I ran to the baggage claim, I found a gentlemen who worked for the airport that pointed us in the right direction. At 11:30 pm the evening before our 8:30 a.m. flight we were informed it would be delayed 3 hrs and 15 minutes. In the end we left later than the 3 hr and 15 min delay. Once we landed in Fort Lauderdale we sat on the runway for about 30 minutes because another plane was still unloading. It took over an hour to get our checked bag! Crazy! Longest time I have ever waited for a bag. Apparently this flight to Fort Lauderdale is used by many going on cruises. Several people had to make the decision to either leave their bags or miss their cruise. Some opted to leave their bags. My family and I had a vacation planned in Sarasota Florida from 6-1-22 to 6-12-22 and purchased round trip tickets for 5 members of my family. We were scheduled to leave Greater Cincinnati Airport 6-1-22 at 10 am, arriving in Sarasota Bradenton airport at 12pm. We arrived at the airport at 7:45 am and while standing in line at 8:15 am I received a text message stating that our flight had been rescheduled till 5:30 pm 6-1-22. When we got to the ticket agent, she let us check our luggage so all we had to do was go thru security. We arrived at the airport at 3:30 and our flight left at 5:30. On 6-7-22 I made a call to Allegiant Air and spoke to a representative named Robert. I explained to him that I wanted to change our return flight to Cincinnati from 6-12-22 to 6-11-22. He said that he did see that we had a round trip from Cincinnati to Sarasota 6-1-22 and the return flight from Sarasota to Cincinnati 6-12-22. I explained to him that we had some family members that needed to be back home by 6-13-22 and that is why I was wanting to change the flight. I repeated to him several times that I wanted a flight out of Sarasota to Cincinnati 6-11-22 and he repeated it back to me. He told me that he had a flight leaving Sarasota at 6:38 on 6-11-22 arriving in Cincinnati at 8:38 pm. I repeated again that we are leaving Sarasota at 6:38 and arriving in Cincinnati at 8:38. He said that is correct and that it would be $602 for the change. I asked why and he said that it was the difference in the flight, there had been an email sent to me that I needed to respond to. I checked the email and did not pay attention to the itinerary thinking that since I had repeated Sarasota to Cincinnati and Robert also said it several times that it was right. My brother also had a flight the night of 6-11-22 leaving Sarasota at 9:33 pm arriving in Cincinnati at 11:33 pm also with allegiant. When we were getting ready to leave for the airport he received a text message saying that his flight had been delayed, but I did not receive and email. We got onto Allegiants website and there was no flight leaving Sarasota at 6:38 that night. When I pulled up the email with the itinerary in it, Robert with Allegiant had booked me and my 4 family members on a flight from Cincinnati to Sarasota, even though he saw that we had a round trip ticket from Cincinnati to Sarasota 6-1-22 and returning to Cincinnati 6-12-22. We put a call into Allegiant air and spoke with Carlo. I tried to explain to him that his coworker scheduled me on a flight from Cincinnati to Sarasota, even though he was able to see that we arrived in Sarasota 6-1-22. I asked him why he would book a flight from Cincinnati to Sarasota when I was already in Sarasota. He said that he did not know but it was not their fault. My sister got on the phone and asked to speak to a supervisor. Carlo said that there were no supervisors that we could speak to and that it was our fault not theirs. Carlo put myself and 4 family members back on the flight 6-12-22 at 8:38 pm arriving in Cincinnati at 10:40 pm. He said that we had to pay another $350 to have the flights switched. While on the phone with Carlo, he became very rude and told us that we can keep calling back but will not be able to speak to supervisor because there are no supervisors. He told us to do whatever we feel we need to do but there was nothing that he would do to help us. I received a call from carlo about an hour later stating that the card we had used for the $350 was declined, if I did not give him another card immediately he would cancel our tickets. We asked if the $602 that was paid 6-7-22 when Robert from allegiant messed up the return flight and Carlo said that it was going to be refunded to us, we are the ones who messed up. My brother received several other text messages stating that his flight had been delayed 6 more times, the last time sent was the flight was delayed to 2:35 am. My family discussed what our options were knowing that Allegiant was having a lot of trouble with flights being delayed and canceled that the last minute. We decided the best thing to do would be to load up the 3 kids, my 82-year-old mom, my brother and myself and start to drive back to Cincinnati. We contacted the rental car agency and had to pay an additional $181 for the rental car to be returned in Cincinnati instead of Sarasota. We left Sarasota about 10 pm 6-11-22 and arrived in Valdosta GA around 3:15 am the morning of 6-12-22. We had to pay for 2 hotel rooms for all 6 people totaling $224.68. We also had to pay for fuel to get home and food to eat on the way home to Cincinnati. We finally arrived in Cincinnati Oh 6-12-22 around 5:30 pm. My mom had mild cognitive impairment and the drive home was very hard on her. My brother, who is 59 yrs old, was diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer 6-1-21 and also heart problems read more

I had a golf bag with just my golf clubs and it weighed just over 40 lbs so I was assessed an additional $50 charge upon my baggage fee. Don't advertise that you can bring golf bags onto your flights if there is no way that the bag can be under 40 lbs. it already doesn't fit the dimensions category so golf bags are usually an exception especially when they are not excessive. I just had my golf bag and clubs in there. Will never fly with them again. read more

This low rating is strictly for the staff at the check in counter. We encountered a woman obviously not happy with her job, and completely lacking in customer service skills. Her completely flat affect greeted us, and it went downhill from there. She spoke little and too softly, acting put out with our presence. A young lady came up, excusing the interruption, and sought her counsel with a boarding issue. She was distraught and panicked. She asked what she should do or where she should go. The worst traveling/customer service experience I have had in my life! My Wife and I went on a trip to Siesta Keys Florida a few weeks ago, and had numerous issues with Allegiant. First we get there 2 hours early and walk into a line that is literally to the door of the entrance at CVG the reason being we come to find out they had 3 or 4 flights lined up at the same time. By the time we get up to the staff to check in our bags they said our flight had been cut off and we were not able to get on our flight, mind you there was still 45 min to an hour left before our flight was leaving. Myself and a few other families were in the same boat and we all complained but the would not let us on. So they told us to call a number to get our money back. And we told the lady there that we would still need the flight back to not cancel it and she said she would write a note to make sure. So my wife and I do not get vacations because we own our own business serving adult with developmental disabilities, and this was our first vacation in 3 years, so I decided that we were going on the trip no matter what. So I went to Frontier next store and had to buy $400 tickets to go on our trip and wait about 3 hours at the airport. Which I felt bad for the other families because they had to wait till 10pm that night for a flight.The lady at Frontier even waived some fees because she saw how terrible the service was next store at allegiant. She also called down to the manager and staff which her name was Michelle Haun, and told them to make sure we still had our flight back from Siesta. They replied her and her manager that they wrote a note for us so we would have any issues coming back. So after a terrible start to a trip we had a wonderful time only to come back to the airport 2 and half hours early to find out Allegiant cancelled our flight all together even after being told multiple times and reassuring us we were fine on the way back and it was in the notes, they could do nothing for us. But somehow they had only 2 tickets available for the flight, so we had to literally purchase our tickets again for a ridiculous price a little over $400. So overall this was the worst experience I have ever had traveling, as well as customer service. If I don't get some kind of customer service to help me with this I will make sure none of my family ever uses your company and I will share this story with every single person I can, in my business network, and as far as I can take it. It's not just the money it's the service and feeling of being robbed, and also ruining the first part of our trip and the end of it. But if somebody does not contact me either by email or something soon to fix this, I will personally make it my obligation in my already busy life, to make sure as many people know how terrible of a service and not to ever use Allegiant! The blonde woman checking bags for allegiant Friday, march 25th, by the lady with bangs and short dark here, at the farthest to the right was such a hostile, aggressive, and directly offensive worker that I am appalled. She treated me SO poorly by making fun of my bags and my boyfriends just to be mean, for absolutely no reason, and then started criticizing us additionally for our badge size and anything else she could think of. She needs to be fired. We literally took our bags from her and LEFT. We re-scheduled our flight through different providers because that treatment from an employee who is providing me a service is completely unacceptable. Additionally, she ignored us in the line for a solid 7 minutes as she goofed off and talked to the other employees. If you have any respect for your client base or any standards at all for the treatment of your customers by your PAID employees, then you will fire her. I got to the check out stand at 6:30 am while my plane was boarding and the lady told me we had to be checked in at 6:45 even though the aircraft was boarding at 6:30am and made me go to the back of the line that was soooooo long!!!! Very sad how this airlines treats people and it's not cheaper after u have to pay for all your check ins $30 and has to weigh 40lbs not 1 pound over and carry on is $25.
