Nicest flight I've had in a long time. The E175 is a relatively comfortable jet, I was okay even in the cheapest economy seat. The flight was right on time, and flying out of MKE is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than O'hare. And I can hop on the 80 Milwaukee County bus so I save a lot of money on the before and after plane transportation. My bag survived being loaded out with my CPAP in it (I packed well too though). The flight was pretty smooth, the flight attendants were highly competent and respectful, there weren't any sick people around me, lots of room in the overhead compartments, and most importantly, I got a cup of good hot coffee in the middle of the flight. Have had a few experiences here now and they were fairly good! One morning we were the only ones there as our flight was early so it was nice how quiet it was. This last time we visited was a tough day for Delta as a flight to Atlanta was having engine issues and our plane was having deicing issues, so the lounge was FULL of people. They had to start turning people away and I could tell the ladies at the front desk were starting to get really stressed. I felt bad for them as some people were treating them so poorly and they were really trying to help everyone they could, the best they could. The only real negative about the lounge is that it is on the smaller side, which means more limited seating, smaller capacity, and seemed like less food options. Overall, I enjoy coming to this lounge! read more

This is a rating strictly regarding the airline stewardess. Delta is my primary airline. I fly often enough to notice that that Delta staff is looking more like spirit or some other low end airline. They are becoming more and more rude and unprofessional and disconnected. While boarding just this week two of the flight attendants were posted in seats talking while customers were boarding. Never once spoke to anyone,,,,,, totally engaged in there gossip. As people would try to sit down the attendants would just move to another seat until someone else would come then move again all while never acknowledging customers. This went on until the plane was full. While going outbound the attendant in first class looked like she hadn't combed her hair all week. Where are they getting these people from? and who is training and hiring them...Delta needs to hit the reset bottom and have higher standards for their staff all while insisting on staff knowing their jobs. Now, I would have let it go and not reported this. However I'm worried that Delta's onboard customer service is starting to look pretty scary,,,, and now I'm negating to look at other airlines for travel. read more

I swear, when I die, it won't matter if my soul is going up or down, I'll have to transfer in Atlanta. Well, better than O'Hare but not much. Let me preface my remarks by saying I hate to fly, I'm a road trip kinda guy but on top of that, I have some special needs for flight that some airlines just don't handle very well. I don't like paying for checking bags but I also hate Oklahoma Land Rush seating because of those special needs. Delta has WiFi onboard but there's bad news and good news. They smash you with another fee for Internet connection but messaging is free so you can chat with your terrestrial friends. (First bag is free if you have Delta's affinity credit card.) I recently needed to fly to Huntsville, Alabama (see my review of the US Space & Rocket Center) and the airline choices are limited, at best. So many of you hate certain airlines that serve MKE that I was a bit nervous. My family in Huntsville uses Delta frequently and highly recommended Delta, so I took their lead. I'm glad I did. The Delta website and iPhone app are easy to use and booking my flight was a breeze. While paying fees for checking a bag is annoying, it's pretty much industry standard these days. They accommodated my special needs and the counter folks were most helpful. (A special callout to Neil on the desk at HSV for his aid in getting me to the plane. Another special callout to Simon, my assistant upon arrival in MKE.) I have two complaints but also a compliment for a workaround. Complaint number one happened in Atlanta at Hartsfeld-Jackson in Atlanta. My connecting flight to MKE was delayed but I understand weather issues are beyond any airline's control. The problem was a lack of cell phone charging stations at the gate and my battery died - which meant my electronic boarding pass was not available upon boarding. That issue was corrected when the podium attendant verified my ID and even moved me to a much better seat on a very full airplane. A surly crowd at the gate was handled with kid gloves and got the aircraft loaded efficiently despite some very irritated people. (Not me, as you might guess.) We finally took off close to midnight. My other complaint is that the MD-90 aircraft was equipped with Wi-Fi (most Delta aircraft are, I'm told) but it did not have any USB ports so I had no way to resurrect my phone battery. The overhead seat lights are slightly dimmer than Times Square but not much, so using them to read was not an option out of courtesy to fellow passengers. Luckily, I had a window seat so I could play "Guess where we are" until cloud cover over Indiana obscured everything. I thought we were a flying a bit low and in MKE, the captain confirmed to me we flew at 30,000 feet because the air was rougher higher up. It made it easier to identify Nashville and Indianapolis before the cloud cover. Speaking of smooth, all four of my flights were smooth with great landings and except for my last link, were right on time. Would I fly Delta again? No doubt about it. read more

I should start off by saying that I do love Delta in general. I don't fly a crazy lot, but when I do, I prefer Delta. The Delta terminal is clean, has plenty of seats to sit all passengers waiting and lots of free charging stations throughout the terminal. The staff at the check in desk have always been nice and friendly. As for flights, I have not yet had any delays while at this specific airport. Boarding starts on time, and is efficient. Delta is pretty a-ok in my book - I don't fly them a ton because they don't have too many flights into MKE and I really hate connecting in ATL. In any case, they are certainly friendlier than US Air and most of their planes are relatively new and kept fairly clean. That's about as much as a person can ask for these days. Two things in Delta's favor: *They seem willing to hold flights for a few minutes to ensure that connecting passengers get on board. I have been "that person" more than once, and nothing sucks more than missing your flight home by minutes. *"Reasonable" same day confirmed standby for $50. I wanted to change to an earlier flight and their call center helpfully told me to wait 24 hours before and change it because it would only cost $50 vs. the $362 originally quoted. Speaking of call centers, I actually like a feature they have - if you call & its busy (when isn't it?) they'll have you enter a number for an auto call back when your turn comes up. That way you're not sitting there on hold, listening to Barry Manilow and getting increasingly frustrated. read more

The baggage counter staff is s extremely rude. My bag was overweight by 2 lbs. and the agent asked me if I wanted to move some of my stuff around to avoid the charge. I declined his offer because all of my bags were completely full so i was annoyed at delta's baggage policies so I said "just charge me, it's fine" his response was "you don't have to talk to me like that and be rude like that" Then the conversation went downhill from there. Worst Counter Service Ever!!!! Went to the gate at MKE on 2/14 for a 10:00 flight to ATL. My niece works as a flight attendant at Delta and her mother always fly free. I've never used a buddy pass and had never ever intended to use one either. Last minute travel plans and my niece and her mother who always fly Delta said everything should go well. Ha!!! Joseph at the counter was horrible, why in the whole wide world would Delta allow this man to be seen in public and why would you risk having him Interact with travelers. He has the personality of Lurch from the Adams Family... Wait, I must apologize to Lurch. We went to the counter about 60 minutes before the flight was scheduled to take off to get our seat assignments. Lurch, sorry Lurch, Joseph was at the counter pulling papers from the ink dot printer. We approach the counter and waited several minutes. Joseph never even looked up or acknowledge us. We walked away in amazement after deciding we'd come back closer to board time. Keep in mind we were flying standby and my nieces mother had a higher priority than I did and we knew that there were 19 available seats on the flight. We approached the counter some 30 minutes later and I forced myself to speak first spoke and he mumbled some noises And he was not audible when he was uttering on the microphone, making announcements. I handed him the boarding passes and we set down. A few minutes later we approached counter again Joseph was on the phone, he saw us coming and extended us our new boarding passes with our seat assignments, never uttered even a nod. The only reason I gave a two, was because the on flight service was so much better. Hats off to Chase and Paul. Paul was awesome and he gave us extra cookies. He even tried to manage up and cover for Lurch by offering perhaps he was just having an off day. Ha! Yeah, right. Joseph thoroughly sucked. On the other hand, the gate agent at ATL, Stacy, for our return home flight was frickin Amazing! MKE could learn a few things, mainly customer service. read more

I am a silver medallion member and recently had a return flight from San Francisco. Our first leg was delayed and would miss our connection so we were rerouted through Atlanta. I was flying Business class so my bag was priority tagged but it has been lost. The flight was Mon Dec 9. The bag was scanned as having been put on my plane to Milwaukee but mysteriously never came off the plane. Delta is continuing to look for it and indicated it can take up to 3 weeks to locate. How can they lose a 62 lb priority bag?? Normally love Delta but hugely disappointed. Lost are 4 days worth of brand new clothes, a coat, make-up, etc. plus a special bottle of very good wine. read more

I used to fly to Vegas every year for work, no really... it was actually work. And I flew Delta a couple times. I was never really impressed with them. I didnt like that you had to pay for bags, To many out of the way layovers, and uncomfortable planes. I haven't flown for a few years. This past week I had to fly to Wisconsin for a conference. Delta had the best price so I went with them. I was pleasantly surprised with all the upgrades they have made over the last few years. From the ease of check in by using the app. The gate area with the free phone charge stations. The friendly staff. And most of all the new modern plane I was on. It seemed to have extra room. Im 6'1" and my knees were not buried into the seat in front of me. There was LED lights in the plane making it nice and bright. And the best part was the interactive LCD flat screens in the back of each seat with everything from multiple movies, tv shows and music to choose from. Also being able to match real time updates of the planes location, speed and altitude. I will say that my opinion of Delta has changed for the better and I will use them as a first choice for now on. One last note.... I still think they should not charge for checked bags. read more

I'm not impressed with Delta at all. I had no control over flying with them for this trip, as it was booked for business, but I can honestly say I won't ever fly with them again if I can help it. The worst of it wasn't in MKE, it was our connecting flight in Atlanta, that took an hour and a half for us to board even though it was in the hangar! This was a completely full flight, meaning, we didn't take them by surprise, but somehow they still weren't ready for us? But that wasn't even the most annoying part, it was the attendants who kept laughing and saying "thanks for waiting, they're working on bringing up the plane now" every 15 minutes. Yolanda and Stephanie (the attendants) the least they could've done was show some sobriety as everyone was clearly annoyed at this ridiculous delay, and no humor or laughter was appreciated, in fact, it only made us all angrier. -_- read more

Delta flights have been so sad trying to get checked in. They today had a lobby full of people waiting for morning flights. Luckily i am experienced with getting through security and did not experience any delays. With only having one hour before flight. They finally started to staff the ticket counter. This is not the first time I've seen this. Why not have minimal staff to keep the ticket counter open it is not like the planes are flying empty anymore as far as flight experience is great but having closed ticket counter is so aggravating for travelers. When American and spirit etc. Have no lines due to them keeping staff at the counter so sad for Delta customers. read more

If I could give this a zero star I absolutely would. As we proceeded into the airplane, we walk towards the back to our seat. We were traveling with our child and as I stated were making our way down the aisle to our assigned seats. The very RUDE, UNPLEASANT, AND UNPROFESSIONAL Flight attendant said to my husband as he's getting ready to put his backpack up above the overhead bin, "Sir can you move, this man is trying to get through" The man was leaving the bathroom and heading towards the his seat. Ummm first of all, he can wait a damn second to walk by to his seat, it literally takes less than 20 seconds for my husband to place his backpack (not luggage) in the overhead bin. She greeted everyone with her fake ass, yes I said fake ass voice with a, Hello, Hi, Welcome, but not once to us. I've observed her as she interacted with several of the customers. At one point, she had a disagreement of somewhat with a customer on the plane. She said stated that she likes her job and would love to keep it. We'll I'm thinking If you love your job so much, you should treat everyone with the same respect. I have always flown with Delta, but after this. I would pay more to fly with another airline. read more

I'm not an experienced flyer, but I had absolutely no issues with Delta. Everything went well, aside a little hiccup delay that was over bad weather (they kept everyone hydrated and filled up with snacks while they waited in the terminal). Delta is always my fall back airline. While I vastly prefer Southwest, since the merger Delta has shown a lot of improvement in customer service, on time flights, and minimal hassle. Today was a great example-boarding my flight to Detroit, the process was smooth and well organized, and did not leave us standing on the jet bridge in below zero temps. Thank you! Also, despite a surprise layer of snow overnight, delays seemed minimal and well explained. Thanks Delta! read more

This is a general for Delta Airlines re: recent first flight: Atlanta airport very confusing, staff completely ignored me. 1) No gate numbers printed on the boarding pass. When I reached my connection point, I had to walk about 1/2 hour before I found a screen with my connecting flight information. 2) When I followed signs, I ended up near baggage claim. When I tried to ask a staff person for directions, 5 personnel rudely ignored me. Finally an employee in janitor garb helped me out. This expression left me with a feeling that Delta does not care enough about the customer experience. read more

Save yourself the headache and fly Southwest, or any other airline. You have to pay more in order to choose seats prior to 24 hours. So if you are traveling with someone they will not guarantee you 2 seats together. According to their customer service center, who had a 2+ hour wait hold time, have to upgrade your ticket but if you booked through a third party you can't upgrade it. There are many other airlines out there. Don't waste your money on this one. read more

The agents there and on the phone easily reset stuff for my family so we could still enjoy our plans so with a minor wait for the next plane they got us to our destination. Let me start off by stating 95% of the delta flights I have taken were wonderful. However the flight I took yesterday (4-2-18) from Detroit to Milwakee was so bad I doubt I will fly delta ever again. I fly almost weekly for my job, a lot of times last minute emergency flights are required. So on 4-2-18 I was informed I would be making one of these trips and my ticket had been bought. On the app I saw that I could upgrade to first class for $59, so I clicked to do so. However something was wrong with the app so I called delta to upgrade over the phone. I talked to a man who lied to me and told me it would be an additional $468 to upgrade, so I informed him he was wrong and he said I needed to get a delta gold card through him and then he could do it for $59. I hung up and figured I'd try the app again, unfortunately the man I talked to took it upon himself to check me in for my flight and pick my seat. He had put me in an aisle seat even though when you look at my sky Miles profile it says I prefer window seats. So I was already irritated when I got onto the plane. I crush myself into the small seat that is next to a man who is almost as big as me. (I'm 6'3" and 350lbs) and can barely fit, a third of my body is hanging out into the aisle. So after the door is closed I realized there are two seats right in front of me that are open. So I ask the flight attendant if I could move up there so I would have more room and so with the guy next to me. She tells me she's already taken a count so I can't. Which would have been fine if four minutes later a young man asked her the same question and she told him sure and moved him into the seat I had asked to move into. By the way he was 20 something years old and may be 180 pounds. This was the worst flight and customer service I've ever had in my entire professional career. Not good Delta read more

I meant to post this past November when I flew Delta from MKE to CAE. To make a very long day and story short. Delta delayed me in New York for over 11 hours. This was not due to weather or anything like that....it was "man made" delays. Delta only offered $100 for the "inconvenience", meanwhile passengers who were calling Delta while stuck at the airport were receiving $300-$500 vouchers. I should've called as well but had work to do and didn't want to sit on the phone. I got them back though and now divert all my business travel to Southwest and American and encourage all others to do the same. read more

If you are considering being a frequent flyer under their Medallion Program, I would recommend that you don't. As a Silver/Gold Medallion and have flown domestic and international with their partners I have yet to be upgraded with empty seats in Business Class. I have asked, but have been denied. I do not think that Delta monitors whether non-revenue employees are being assigned these seats in place of dedicated lower ranking Medallion customers. United has s better program from where I switched. read more

If it were possible to give "negative stars" I would. I've flown Delta over twenty times (not necessarily by choice) and only once can I remember an uneventful experience. Well, my family and I flew back to Milwaukee recently for a wedding and Delta, true to form, screwed up AGAIN!! The inbound flight went relatively smoothly; however, the return trip is more "Delta-like". We arrived at the airport "early" to check luggage, etc., etc. and we waited patiently for the plane to be boarded (dutiful little passengers). Once the flight was boarded (and full) a flight attendant announced that a flight crew had not been assigned to pilot our plane. WHAT?? WHAT?? How in the %$^&*(*% can Delta accept my reservation (and money) three months earlier yet fail to schedule a pilot & co-pilot?? We waited for nearly two hours for a new crew to show up and go through their "check routine". Needless to say, we missed our connecting flight (the last of the night) and were put up in a small, smelly motel room. When we arrived the next morning we boarded our flight and were met shortly thereafter by an announcement from the pilot that they were experiencing mechanical difficulties and were waiting for a repair part before we could take off. SHEEZ!! Well, we FINALLY made it home and will always have this "adventure" to remember. Of one thing I am sure,,,,,,,,that was our very last Delta flight,,,,,,EVER!!!! read more
