This air park is located not far from Boundary Bay Airport, grass strip, great for light aircraft's.

Big. Clean. Efficient. That the whole review. I'm kidding, but it could be. For many, myself…read moreincluded Vancouver international was my introduction to Canada...atleast since childhood. After navigating the maze to customs (typical), while absorbing a bit of the cultureI arrived to a surprisingly calm, low stress process to baggage. I walked right up to a customs kiosk, chose my preferred language, answered the typical questions, snapped a pic and received a slip of paper. That paper went to an officer and I was on my way. No fuzz, no language barriers, no targeted "intimidation intending"!interrogation, no stare downs...can you tell I've recently been to Germany? Just peace, and honesty, it looked to be that way for most everyone who passed through. Our return trip to Houston I was reminded that as a country, we've pissed Canada off. My husband was randomly selected for additional screening...okay, but then my bag was super searched. The same one with the same items I've carried to 6+ other countries in the last couple of years

I do appreciate that trams are not needed to transfer you to the different airlines , just a LOT of walking between the four levels. -Level one is a service plaza with restaurants and convenience stores -Level two is for domestic and international arrivals with baggage carousels. -Level three is for domestic and international departures. -Level four is where you can catch the Canada line Skytrain. The Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel is conveniently connected for to travelers. It's just a five to ten minute walk away. This airport has won awards for its special nature inspired West Coast design. Highlights include an aquarium with 800 animals, a creek, Indigenous sculptures and totem poles throughout the airport. As with all airports, it is congested at times but being the second busiest international airport in the country, I expect this.

Pacific Coastal operates out of this terminal to remote areas in BC, and various fishing lodges have chartered flights from here. The departure and arrival areas is pretty much one section. The baggage carousel is right by where you board. I take Pacific Coastal flights, and there's no security screening to go through, you just go out to the tarmac and board the plane from there. Unfortunately there's not many food options. There's only a cafe located at this terminal and you'll have to go out pretty far to find actual food. Service is fast since there's virtually no people. You can just go at the required arrival time and you should be fine. The building is very small and it's impossible to get lost as it's just one big hallway. Bathrooms are located on one side of the building. There's a shuttle that goes to and from the terminal but otherwise you'll have to take a taxi or Uber to get there. It can take quite a bit of time to go between terminals.

The terminal was nice and clean and orderly. I was disappointed in the taxi service: there was nothing in sight and I had to call get a cab, seems strange for an airport terminal to have no taxi waiting around at all, I waited for about 15 minutes to get out of there after collecting my items.

Taxis leaving YVR are under flat rates for different zones. One time the driver ran the meter and tried to charge me meter rate, which was higher than flat rate. Second time the driver charged me an inflated flat rate and told me rates increased last month and I was in a different price zone. Always take a photo of the fare map and show them. Incredibly dishonest! If they are ripping locals off, imagine how they treat tourists.

There was a lineup that I needed to take what came to my turn. The driver kept hitting the brake pedal at almost every signal regardless red or green! He pulled the window and started arguing with someone on another car I guess he didn't like. He didn't make a conversation but kept asking me rather rude questions and giving me equally rude comments. He asked me my destination more than a couple of times, never checked GPS, pretended he knew where he's going but needed to wait for me to give the direction. When I asked to pay by credit card, he insisted I pay in cash because he was simply too busy to deal with the credit card transaction (seriously how much more time does that take?). I paid by card, though, telling him either cash without tip or credit card with tip. But I believe he gave me different amount first than the actual total when he said how much it was. Also, he didn't pick up nor help bringing in/out of my luggage, didn't even bother to get off the car to open the trunk. It' just so disrespectful and uncomfortable I wish I didn't have to give him any tips and I hope I won't have to encounter him ever again. I'm not sure if this review applies to the other drivers who work for Coquitlam Taxi but I don't think it is a coincidence that they all bad reviews.
