I initially called this company simply to get a quote/estimate. Instead of answering my question, the receptionist immediately asked for my address and availability and scheduled me for a service window. I had to clarify multiple times that I did NOT want to commit to anything yet, as I was only looking for an estimate and didn't want to risk being charged. I was eventually told that a technician could come out and provide an estimate before any commitment to service or payment. The technician did arrive within the scheduled window, which I appreciated. However, things went downhill quickly. Instead of trying to open my garage door using the interior switch, he forcefully pushed the door open. As a result, my garage door is now completely stuck open when originally it was only about one-third open. This alone was extremely frustrating. From there, the interaction became very uncomfortable. I was at work and had arranged for my father to meet the technician, since I wasn't home. I made it clear that I was only looking for an estimate and was not prepared to make a same-day decision. Despite this, the technician repeatedly pressured me to decide immediately, saying he had other customers to get to and he cannot wait around. He also made comments that were very off-putting, such as saying my job was "too small" (under $300) for him to come back another day, and that the company would not return if I didn't agree to the service on the spot. This completely contradicted what I was told when I first called. At one point, when I asked reasonable questions about whether fixing just the pulley could lead to other issues, he became impatient and dismissive. He kept repeating that he "already gave you your two options, change all parts for $525 or just the pulley for $250" and "wouldn't know until he fixed it," even though I was simply trying to understand my options. He also said things like, "Did you look at our website? We have over 500 5-star reviews," which came across as dismissive rather than reassuring. To compare, I called another company later that same day and specifically asked if I could get an estimate and decide later. They had no issue with that and told me I could absolutely call back when I was ready. To be clear, the price quoted here was not bad. My issue is not with the cost but with the experience. The technician's attitude, the pressure to make an immediate decision, and the way my situation was handled turned what should have been a simple estimate into a very negative experience. We were also concerned about some loose pickets in our yard fence and they assured us they could take out about 8 of the pickets that were loose and replace them with new ones. They also talked us through specific designs for the breezeway gates and everything sounded promising. On the day of the job they estimated they would arrive between 9-10am. They didn't show up until 11am and the lead installer had no idea about any of the gate design elements from the quoting phase. I had to walk him through everything again and he had to reach out to his boss to confirm more details. After all that, they had to go back out and actually purchase materials so it was well after noon before they started work. On the back breezeway gate, they did a fine job. The front breezeway gate had one post that was extremely loose and wobbling. The pickets they put in to replace our loose ones were completely the wrong size in height and width and looked atrocious. Several pickets were not even connected at all at the bottom and some of the ones that were, were not even screwed in all the way. Check out the pictures, this was the complete opposite of a professional looking job. After surveying the work, we immediately called to try and have them rectify the shoddy craftsmanship. Someone came out pretty quickly to have the gate wobble fixed. That guy pushed off responsibility for the mismatched, shoddy looking pickets and said he'd have the owner get in touch with us to come up with a solution. Guess what? He never did. We ended up trying to contact him multiple times and each time we were berated by some lady who sometimes claimed to be the owner, sometimes claimed the owner was some guy named "Ray" who would get in touch with us to come up with a solution. Mmm hmm. Heard this one before. The lady had the audacity to essentially blame us for having too high expectations of how professional the job should look. One time we actually managed to get ahold of someone named "Ray" and he immediately deflected, said he didn't need to discuss the job with us because his staff had it firmly under control. He told us they would be in touch to communicate a resolution. We left it at that. They ghosted and never communicated with us further, despite saying that they would. Company could not manage a professional install and ran away from the problem when called out on it. Spend money with them at your own peril.
