With price increases and supply shortages around the country, you're most likely going to be on the waitlist but it's definitely worth it! We ordered a side of beef and pork last year and got the call that our pork was ready recently! I was super excited. A couple calls back and forth to make delivery plans and all was ready! The day before receiving, I get a call that someone else is bringing it to ANC and what made this even better was that he was willing to meet up, rather than us having to drive to Carlile to pick it up. A couple update phone calls for time and location and now my freeze has plenty of pork to last us quite a while! A few different types of ground pork & sausage, smoked bacon slabs, chops, roasts... Traveling from Michigan and following the Milepost suggestion we stopped here. The yummy smell of smoked meat greeted us as my husband and I entered the store. We had a hard time deciding what to get as everything looked so tempting. We decided on some elk snack sticks, bison snack sticks, elk sausages, and Buffalo summer sausage. We tore into the elk snack sticks before we even left the parking lot! Delicious!!! We have not been disappointed by any of the products and now we wish we would have bought more as gifts for family and friends back home! The prices were reasonable and the customer service was the best. The lady that greeted us also provided some advice on the area including information on camping and fishing! read more

I stopped by and picked up an Elk Porterhouse Steak (pricey at $19/lb) and grilled it rare with nothing but salt and a bit of oil on the grill and had an absolutely delicious dinner. When I walked in, the lady was very nice and showed me my options for steaks. They had a lot of frozen steaks (buffalo, beef, elk, etc) but I chose elk because I don't get to buy that in Arizona. Nice thing is that they come in 1 packs so you can only buy whatever you need. They also have a variety of smoked/cured meats.. I didn't try any of those. From what I heard from a local who owns businesses in Delta, this family raises their own Angus beef (nearby, actually, visible from the highway) and they are fed a clean diet and raised healthy and, according to this woman, a very reputable operation. I would definitely get my next steak from there.. though I'll keep a better eye on the price ;) read more

Finally was able to come here when it was open. I got meat from every farm animal: yak, buffalo, cow, and pig. I'm excited to try my yak burger. Decent service and free samples to try. I will try to hit this place up again in the future to support local farming. It's a 10 minute drive from Delta on the Alaskan Highway. read more

This is not just a butcher shop, the is a necessary stop when in or driving through Delta Junction. Three of us fly in for a week or two of work, first recommendation is to stop at this business. No disappointment. The selection of sausages, ground meet and all cuts of steaks, chops , etc are great and priced right. More importantly, the passion of the folks running the place shines through. The sausage testing of Yak, Reindeer and other unique meats are something not to miss. read more

Very nice selection of local meat and sausage. Clean and friendly. Good parking for RV's. They gave free samples of a variety of their sausage products. I tried all of them and was impressed with the taste and quality. They also carry a great spicy bbq sauce and a good honey mustard sauce. I recently dropped off Caribou at Delta Meat and Sausage. The meat was dressed immediately in the field, trimmed, deboned and delivered to them. We had half the meat processed into ground meat and the other half made to sticks. We first picked up and paid for the ground meat and to our surprise the meat we received back was rancid and inedible. We contacted the owner that day and her response was that the caribou was in rut and that it technically shouldn't have been processed. They stated that there was nothing they could do for us at this point. We pointed out that as an avid hunter it was not in rut and that if they know that they technically shouldn't process an animal in rut "why would they not contact us and process it anyways" morally knowing we would pay for bad meat. Even after knowing this we still picked up and paid for our sticks in hopes that they would work with us because we do not leave outstanding debts. When we picked up the sticks the owners were not present and the young lady at the counter told us if they were also bad to contact them. We opened the sticks before we left and they too were rancid. We took it back in and asked if they wanted to taste it to see it was rancid. The response was "I don't eat Caribou" and she would have the owners call use and of course they did not. Since my boyfriend who is not local did all the interactions with them I figured since I was a long time Delta Resident I would call and try to work something out in a fair manner. Being local I never thought a business in our town could be so unwilling to do the right thing. When I called and talked to the owner I was told that the meat we received back was not rancid and therefore there was nothing she could do about it. I restated that the meat we have is bad and when we placed our unprocessed caribou in their hands the meat had no sign of being rancid or that the animal was in rut. She replied that part of it could have been in rut but, since it passed there inspection they processed it. I stated to her that "I have 70lb in bad ground meat and 50lb in bad sausage and you're not willing to at least give me half of my money back". Her response was no. So now I am out $380 with 120lbs of inedible meat. Nice to know that when I finally decided to not process my own meat and support a local home town company I got screwed in the end. I will NEVER use them again and will let everyone know what happened when I am asked where they should go. read more
