I was having incredibly painful spasms in my back and couldn't walk without doubling over. My sister took me to the Urgent Care, and while I waited in the car, she went inside. After huffing to even have to acknowledge anyone, the receptionist slid back the window. This is the exchange that followed: Sis- "Do you have a wheelchair I can use?" Rec- "What did he do?" (Mind you, everything she said was with attitude.) Sis- "My sister's back hurts." Rec- "Then she should go to the ER." Sis- "She can walk, she'd just rather not, because it hurts." Rec- "If it's that bad she should go to the ER." Sis- "........ok." (Leaves) Rec- "Sorryyyyyy." (Hint: she wasn't sorry.) Not only was she rude, but apparently it makes no differance to her that the local ER won't accept my insurance, which is why I elected Urgent Care in the first place. Fortunately I was able to get in at Click Chiropractic Clinic, which is where I should've gone first. I will never use Urgent Care again.

If you are unfamiliar with hospital food you may want to reconsider your preconceived notions. These whipped potatoes are very similar to mashed potatoes in that may have originated as a potato and serve delightfully as a no frills substitute, trust me you will wish you had more or something else. The Pot roast is very consistently cooked and brown and serves a a fat free protein that complements the whipped potatoes. With a bit a brown gravy you will have a beautiful rainbow of earth tones for your taste buds. To continue with our brown theme and also saving the best for last, I suggest dipping a chocolate chip cookie into the what has now become soft serve ice cream, it will soften up the cookie and create something like an MRE ice cream sandwich. I accidentally put a steak knife through my thumb and knew I needed urgent, but not emergent, care. I held firm pressure on the cut and drove myself the 19 miles to IEP. From the moment I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised. Lucky for me, there was no one waiting. That NEVER happens, especially to me! But Heather checked me in and made me feel so much better about my situation. There was a sign stating that there was only one practitioner working that day, but truly, I was seen in no time, by Ainsleigh, PA extraordinaire!!! She made me feel at ease, as I had never had stitches before. Before long, I was out the door with four stitches and an updated tetanus shot, happy as a clam that I had chosen to come to IEP. If you need an Urgent Care Center, and you are are an understanding person who respects what these lovely people are trying to do for you, even if you have to wait, please give this place a try.

The front desk staff was friendly and both Michelle and Lora Manders took great care of me after I got called back. Within an hour, I walked out with my prescriptions (they have a pharmacy on site) and refills for bloodwork, etc. The only small annoyance was that even though I filled out a bunch of paperwork online, I had to redo some of it when I got there (not a big deal). As someone who's living the nomadic life right now, this will be a perfect spot for me to centralize my medical care.

On 01/12/2020 at 330 pm I took my husband to the ER as he was in Severe pain and thought he might have cracked a rib . We were triaged quickly telling them he HEARD a pop when he coughed and all needed info. They took him into one room, left us, came and took him into another room for who knows what reason. As he could barely move , this was painful! They got him quickly for ex-rays and then..... the wait began. After some time they came and told us they had to send the ex-rays to St Joe"s to be read and they had problems getting them! Are you serious?? It was 330 in the afternoon and NOONE could read ex-rays in the hospital. This is not Little House on the Prairie folks. So we wait, all the meanwhile my husband cannot stand straight, bend, lie down, sit down, kneel, etc without screaming in pain. NEVER DID ONE person come in and TOUCH HIM- ask questions, evaluate the area, have him move his shirt, watch his motion. NOTHING! I mean ZERO! Is it bruised? NO one asked? Where exactly is the pain? NOPE, NOTHING was asked! We told them in triage he HEARD a POP! Finally at about 630 they came in and said , no broken bones, Muscle spasm- Ice it , flexerill, ibuprophen. I questioned them. They knew I was Not buying it! I explained the pain was unbearable and he could not WORK. They did not give him a work note either. The meds given gave him ZERO relief- NONE, Nada, Zero, Zilch. He screamed all night. He could not get in the bed, lay down, lay back, Sleep. Monday morning we went to his Pa- c in Tecumseh where in 5 minutes he was told he most likely had a hairline fracture of his rib and they do not all show on ex-rays. She simply TOUCHED his side, and looked and did what a DR does in a painful injury. She gave him stronger meds , detailed instructions and he is now resting comfortably. This ER is A joke! It is no wonder it is commonly called a bandaid station. They stand and chit chat, gossip about patients, read their texts and phones when one even TOLD me when I asked him a ? and apologized for bothering him that he wasn't supposed to be using his phone anyhow!! Seriously? When you need HELP, there is NO feeling you will be HELPED here! He screamed for 8 hours after this visit. I have a video of him. Hire BETTER People and PAY them and they might care enough to work but This "hospital " is NOT and never will be a good hospital even if they are building a new one!!!! New building- same idiots. D. I went to the urgent care with covid symptoms hoping to receive some help and possibly medication. The first nurse I saw legitimately ran out of the room calling for help saying "ew" and that she really has the "ick" about covid. It sounds made up and I really wish it was, but it was real and I felt so dehumanized in that moment as I was simply a patient looking for help. Don't people go into the nursing profession to help others? I wish I knew her name because it was the most horrible experience and nobody deserves to be treated like that. I understand being high risk and not wanting to get the virus, however we were both wearing masks, I warned all staff members upon entering, and she could have exited the room in a much more respectful way. You just don't treat people this way. Every doctor that entered my room after the incident with the first nurse just seemed apathetic and like they were doing whatever they could to rush me out of there. It's not my fault that I contracted the covid virus and now I feel so disgusting even though it is perfectly reasonable to go to the local urgent care to seek help/care for covid.
