I needed a bankruptcy lawyer and was referred by a friend of mine to Mr. DeLuca. What could have been just an anxiety filled process, there was none of that dealing with Anthony DeLuca. I didn't think the lawyer would be there to see you or handle your case, that you would be dealing with a colleague or partner. But he was there and he answered every question I had regarding the process. While it was great to deal with mr. DeLuca, his assistant DJ was awesome! She was great at answering my questions. **I apologize...I deleted, re added, and edited this review. I went In for my initial meeting and got all the info and paid the retainer. After a few months I didn't have the money to start the process, then more time passed. I got a few promo emails from them. I emailed them inquiring about the initial payment and was told that I could set up a monthly payment plan and the initial amount paid would be applied to balance. I must say I was happy because I figured the money was lost since I let so much time go by. Let's just say I had to pay a pretty large sum so I had a way to go since I don't have all of that extra cash readily available. Others that I know that went to him paid way less. During the whole process they answered my questions and replied to my emails. I went to court and got my discharge papers a few months later. I sure did do the happy dance when I left my mailbox. It was a new start. Maybe a month later I had a couple questions so I emailed them, but unfortunately I never got a reply. Kind of disappointing. I did notice a couple things that I included are showing as charge off on my report while the others show bk. Not like I got any info after my case was closed, but what can I do. You guys are the best! Where do I start .... from calling in for an appointment on a Monday morning, to having my petition prepared and filed by the Wednesday of the same week to stop a garnishment!! ;) While walking out the front door of my family's apartment. I was served a scary legal document from an intimidating constable. Then I knew I had to make better decisions on how to correct my financial crisis immediately. So I started my search online. There are so many attorneys for bankruptcy and its soo confusing. So after actually reading a few of the websites and actually looking up reviews with the State Bar and Better Business Bureau I went with the best rated firm DELUCA & ASSOCIATES. I placed a call to the number listed on the website on Monday morning and spoke with a very pleasant woman named Wendy. Wendy helped ease my anxiety as to the lawsuit that I had just received and she scheduled me a FREE consultation with Mr. DeLuca the same day. I arrived for my appointment at this huge beautiful two story building. Looks intimidating and like a bank...but, as soon as you set foot inside the building you step onto marble inlayed floors.This building makes you feel very welcome and comfortable. I was greeted by multiple staff members upon entry and immediately was offered water/coffee for my consultation appointment. Stepping out of the elevator on the 2nd floor, I was again greeted by a very polite employee of DeLuca named Bonnie. Bonnie led me down a hallway full of individual offices to be seated. I was given a general information form and asked to complete the form to the best of my ability because the form would be used by Mr. DeLuca to help aide him in his consultation with my individual circumstances. After about 5 minutes into the completion of the general information form, the door opened and Mr. DeLuca walked in. He looks exactly like the commercials!!! Mr. DeLuca personally introduced himself and started a review of my case. In about 5 minutes Mr. Deluca assured me that I qualified for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Mr. DeLuca acknowledged my urgency to file bankruptcy to stop garnishment of my wages and he offered me a discount on the regular attorney's fees and costs charged, as my case was a very simple proceeding. Luckily, I had been planning on filing for Bankruptcy for quite some time and had the entire balance available. Mr. DeLuca even had additional options to retain the firm and not have to pay the initial retainer fee upfront. He stated the firm could move the initial retainer fee out 30 days to be automatically debited from my checking account or debit card on a day of my choice! This would have really helped if I did not already have the full amount ready. Then a paralegal named Amelina came into the office to ensure all the forms were complete, gave me a receipt, and set me a return appointment the next day to complete the paperwork. The following day I arrived for my paperwork appointment. Upon entering the building I was quickly checked in for my appointment. An employee named DJ then took me into an individual office on the first floor to gather and review all the requested documentation. Needless to say.... DELUCA staff did all of the paperwork and I was completed within 30 minutes. Before leaving I was given a final appointment to sign and complete the bankruptcy forms. I returned for my signing appointment on Wednesday of the same week. I literally walked into the building, was seated into my own office to start the review of the bankruptcy forms for accuracy. After I reviewed the bankruptcy documents the department manager, Brandon came into the office to answer my last few questions and concerns. The entire staff is very knowledgable. My case was filed the same day and the garnishing creditor and my payroll department were notified of the filing by the firm by Thursday morning. With the reminder sheet that I was provided with at the signing appointment I placed a return call to the firm to obtain my case number and the hearing date and time of the meeting of creditors. The meeting hearing date was about 28 days from the date my case was filed. I arrived for my hearing at the Court house and had a seat at the back of the room. The Trustee called out my name and as I walked up to the podium, Mr. DeLuca was there addressing the Court. I was then asked to state my full name and address for the Courts record. Then the trustee asked me a few general questions and the meeting was finalized in less than 4 minutes. Approximately 60 days after my meeting of creditors I received my DISCHARGE. ;) As soon as I received my discharge I began getting credit card offers and pre-approved offers to purchase a car. As the commercial says....DeLuca & Associates did all the work, They immediately stopped the garnishment of my wages, and have given me a fresh start to rebuild my financial future. Well, the girl at the desk couldn't come in to tell me at 1:50, that the God, DeLuca Himself, wasn't back from lunch yet! Apparently my time isn't worth his time. Don't see DeLuca and assc. I haven't been able to reach anyone regarding my bankruptcy, so I've decided to let them keep the 200$ I've already paid and move on to a new attorney! What's so sad is that my mom used to work for this law firm before she passed, and I felt comfortable with them, but nobody returns phone calls and promises about cost were made and not kept! I went through my first and only bankruptcy in 2010. I researched many places in Las Vegas and decided on Deluca & Associates because of the extremely friendly telephone staff and affordable payment options. I was always surprised by how knowledgeable and courteous the staff was whenever I called or stopped by. They offered free donuts and coffee in the lobby and had a drive up window for payments on the go! My first meeting was very professional and I learned a lot. They had a informational packet drawn up for me and an application ready to be completed. After that I paid the initial fee to retain their services. I was allowed to refer them to the debt collection agencies and that provided much emotional relief. After I made all my payments, we scheduled my court hearing. That went by like a breeze. .. I remember a room full of people ..we were waiting for our turn in front of the judge. I saw a rival bankruptcy attorney come in late, all disheveled and his briefcase looked battered and papers were spilling out and it had scuff marks. I was glad my attorney was already there with me, he looked professional and neat and his briefcase was in good shape and did not reflect poorly on us. After that meeting with the judge I believe we waited for a bit for the official paperwork to go through the court system then we had a meeting downtown with a panel of people. Again my attorney was there to help me through this and although it's intimidating to say in a room full of strangers and to have it recorded that you cannot pay your debts, it was a part of my life that I had to get through. That was the most nerve wracking part for me , but I knew I could get through it with a good attorney and prayer. After that meeting I waited about 3 months, maybe less, and I received my official paperwork in the mail. During the whole process I had called Deluca & Associates now and then with questions and concerns that came to me that were very important to me to have answered. Most of the time the first person to answer the phone could help me, but if they couldn't, they would put me through right away to someone who could answer my question. Do yourself a favor....STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!! Bankruptcy is a very very very stressful and time consuming event. DeLuca would love to assist you in any way they can but you will never have a name, you are purely a $$$$$$ to them. They are extremely rude and I even question if I was ever assisted by true attorney. We, like many people in Las Vegas, found themselves severely underwater in our home and our only option (due to our income level) was a Chapter 13 (even knowing this out attorney insisted we file Ch 7 to see if it would work...again, probably because they get more money!). We were never ONCE informed of a Deed in Lieu of Foreclosure (most likely because they would not get as much money from us). My Husband and I are very educated people and took a long time to make this decision. To say we were scared to file would be an understatement....we were terrified....this is something that would be with us for many years. Not once did the DeLuca staff say anything to make us feel like actual people with feelings. They wanted to get this going and going fast so they could collect their check. During out initial visit the place was a Zoo. They were filtering through people like crazy..they should install a revolving door. And I can guarantee not one person working there could recognize any of their clients by name. After we filed, I stayed on top of everything...which I think took them all by surprise (I think they expected me to just rollover and let it happen). Well, good thing I did, because 5 months after we filed Ch 7, I finally get told they filed it wrong and they would have to refile Ch 13 (that is 5 months of my life they took away). So we again refilled, I continued to stay on top of them, phone calls, faxes, emails and after several attempts I may or may not get a response. After many unreturned calls/emails I was finally informed that my "attorney" was no longer there. Great...someone I thought that kinda new me and my story was gone and now I am just another $$$ to someone else. Who was NOT helpful at all. The entire process took 15 months! Absolutely ridiculous. When we were at our hearing and I saw all these no name lawyers there conversing with their clients I thought, wow good luck to them, hope their attorney knows what they are doing. How dumb was I!!! In hindsight they were the smart clients and I was the idiot. I was the idiot for hiring the guy who I saw on TV and I recognized his name (so he must be good...right). Please....the whole process put a HUGE strain on my marriage and family relationship....Bankruptcy is a huge deal...do some research and find an attorney that has your interest in mind and not the $$$$ in the end! I am writing this review to warn anyone who goes to Mr. DeLuca for legal services. DO NOT GO TO THIS ATTORNEY. They are completely unprofessional and you can tell they do not have any interest or care in what your situation is. I wont go into much detail but just to show you an example, my associate and I scheduled meeting with DeLuca for 11am and we arrived there at 10:45am. He has us fill out paper work and wait in his meeting room. We wait there a 30 minutes and ask for help again. We are told we'd be attended to shortly. Another 30 minutes passes and finally he comes in but at this time we already have no time as its a working day and we have other meetings and business to attend to. WE WAITED FOR A WHOLE HOUR FOR HIM. He arrogantly refuses to return our personal information which was filled out on the new client sheet! Ridiculous service, absolutely unprofessional and completely rude. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. I noticed owner replies to some of these 1 star reviews but don't be fooled. These attorneys know how to word things. Customer is always right. Do yourself one better and go to another law firm for your business. read more
