This was one of the most uncomfortable rooms I've stayed in. I checked in on the app only to never receive a digital key. Upon arrival, I was told that the room that the app reserved for me was not yet available. No big deal so I took another room. The beds here are the worst I've ever slept on. I could not sleep very well because you can hear everyone else on your floor every time they make a move. When I finally decided to get out of bed because I realized there is no comfortable position, I realized that trying to find a way to sleep only hurt my back during the night. Instead of a nice relaxing evening in a hotel room on the road, I received a stressful night of loud noises and a bed from hell!! The bathroom door would not stay completely open because of the hair dryer and towel hanging pegs. This makes it difficult to enter and exit the bathroom without bumping the door. There was no snacks to purchase in the lobby. The staff was nice but I believe one of the ladies that helped me just started so this lead to a much longer check in process. Limited parking due to construction equipment. The front awning was blocked off for some reason. The place appears to be under renovation. The room I was in appeared to be recently renovated but I truly hope I'm wrong. I will avoid this place in the future. Life is too short to waste money like this. Not sure what all the haters are hating on. It's a motel off the Interstate. Not the Ritz. Arrived to renovations starting in the parking lot. Yes it was a small inconvenience but very small. Front desk service from J'Quan was spot on. Room was spacious and clean. Bed comfortable. Bathroom was just fine. Hot coffee and tea all day and night. Called the desk and within a couple of minutes they said to meet someone at another room. Perfect. All working and settled. During a one night stay I needed one thing and once again I was very surprised how quick service was especially at after 10:00 PM. From check in to check out super friendly and fast service. Hampton Inns use to be know for quality. Apparently like so much in this country; they have gone way downhill. They had 2 elevators and one was broken. With 4 floors it took a while to get the one elevator working to your floor. The beds were horrible. i went to turn the lamp off and it fell apart. The carpet felt sticky. It just appeared to be old and in desperate need of updating. But the high price surely didn't reflect a quality room. Only positive was the breakfast. read more

Who doesn't like Hampton Inns? They're just right when traveling along the nations freeways getting from one state to the next. Convenient, predictable and reliable. This one unfortunately, doesn't quite measure up to the standards one has come to expect. Stale smelling room, and NO HOT WATER in our room. Very uncomfortable, unless you're in the mood for a cold shower. I was told our the room was at the end of the hall, so it takes a while for the hot water to reach it...running for 15 minutes and still no hot water.... Pool was covered and closed (recently stayed at another Hampton Inn and pool was open, heated and delightful. Why not this one? read more

I arrived at 6:00 PM and was exhausted. Stephanie the desk clerk was amazing and so accommodating I mistakenly booked a non pet room and she helped me get a pet room. Let me preface this by saying I'm not boujee - I'm very much a Hampton Inn tier kind of girl. I don't ever expect 5 star service coming to these hotels, but I do expect cleanliness, friendliness, and safety. This location is dirtyyyyy. This really upset me since I booked this hotel because of the reviews talking about how clean this hotel is. The beds and the bathroom appeared to be clean, but the fridge was not cleaned out and appliances were obviously not dusted/wiped down. The lobby was also very dusty/dirty - not great seeing that next to all the drinks. The pool was also filthy. The woman at the front desk was also extremely unfriendly and seemed unwilling to help. We had an issue where we were able to book a 2 queen bedroom (on the hotel's website) for 6 people with the option of adding a rollaway bed but we were told upon arriving that we were unable to have that bed due to safety reasons. Ok, I understand -- but why even give us the option to have that many people in a room if we all can't even fit on the bed? The person seemed completely clueless and just answered everything with "idk". A cleaning lady came up later, and she was extremely extremely nice and helpful. I wish I got her name. Free breakfast is very good and employees were SUPER nice. Idk if I came in on a bad day or something, but considering this hotel is more expensive than many of the other ones around it, I'd book elsewhere. read more

For a Hampton Inn it was great! Very very clean. You could smell the clean in the halls. Not like cleaning supplies though! It was wonderful. The front desk was welcoming and professional and friendly. Easy parking around the hotel. Restaurants with great food in the area as well. They are very close! They do offer continental breakfast. Right now with corona they come in individual bags and individually wrapped Pastry and water bottle. OJ is also available! Lovely lobby area. Great area to work with the high top tables. One down fall is the hallway noise can come through easily. We also had a weird very loud whooshing sound from above. Like the turned the bath on? It was super loud. Stayed here because we needed pet friendly hotel. If a hotel is going to be pet friendly, they should remove carpet from those rooms and put some other flooring in. Our room was filthy and smelled horrible. It wasn't just the carpet in the room that was bad, the toilet was not cleaned properly...I will leave it at that. The place is old to say the least and there is rust on the fixtures in the bathroom. You collect enough money from the guests you could remodel those items. The bed was hard as concrete and the pillows were only big enough for a toddler. The whole place was kind of smelly even on the ground floor. Should have left right then but had dogs that were exhausted, otherwise would have just kept on driving. Stay away from here. read more

Stayed here in a pet friendly room, it was filthy to say the least. The carpet was SOOOOOOOO dirty!!!! Only reason why I stayed the night was because it was late. DOg was so uneasy with all of the dog smells in this room. TIME to Clean the carpet!!!!! Beds have seen their better day, old and worn and uncomfortable. Time to upgrade to queens!!! Upon arrival ( 10:00 pm ) staff were lounging in the common area. Granted it was late but this was inapropriate and gave an uneasy feeling. Front desk person was rude and dismissive of my concerns. I was put in a 4th floor (top floor room) despite having 1st floor on my profile. The room was tired and smelled of smoke though it was a non-smoking room. There was no hot water for tea at check in. Breakfast was sparse- no eggs, no milk, no butter, no hot water for tea the whole 30 minutes I ate breakfast. The only dry cereal options was fruit loops (and mo milk for the kids to put in it. Oatmeal was dry paste, brown sugar was empty. There was only 1 flavor for the waffles. The person working breakfast complained continuously to all the patrons about being the only one on and being out of everything.. When I addressed this to the front desk, she was sarcastic and actually walked away from the desk into the back leaving me standing at the desk alone. very disappointed in this experience and quality of stay. read more

We booked this hotel several months in advance and gave them a deposit. The night we arrived we we're informed that they cancelled our reservation at 6pm that evening. We received no phone call or email. We had even called them the day before to make sure our reservation was valid. They told us we were fine. We asked them why they canceled our reservation and we were told it was because they were having a lot of walk in traffic and wanted to accommodate those people. We asked if they had any more rooms, and they told us they did but would not honor the original price of 180.00 a night. The new price would be over 340.00 a night. So they kicked us out not because they were overbooked but so they could charge us or anyone else almost double the original fee. How is this legal? They didn't offer to help us find other accommodations or anything. This hotel and the people who work there are super GREEDY. If they will kick us out on the street to make more money, they will do the same to you. read more

I am writing this review realistically. This is a Hampton Inn and not some fancy hotel or VRBO so I will review it as such. I don't love staying in hotels. We are here for a volleyball tournament and staying together as a group. It's nothing super fancy, but we have a mini fridge and microwave which is very handy. There is continental breakfast and it's free parking. Checking in was super easy. I would give it a 3.5 for bed comfort and 4 for overall review. We have a pull out couch in our room which is more comfortable to sleep on (as a couch not pull out) than the bed. Besides our kids having fun hanging out with each other, it's very quiet. I've been able to get some studying done at the roomy desk. For those looking for safe place to lay their head at night with a breakfast to get them going the next day, I would recommend this hotel. It is super convenient to stores, restaurants and the event center downtown. read more

We enjoyed a manage's reception with dinner and drinks, great breakfast, and fresh cookies at midnight. They are in the middle of a remodel (Fall 2012) which I'm sure will look great. When we drive for our trips down south, Hampton Inn is usually our first choice. We stayed in three this trip down. This last one, I was very disappointed. I know they are trying to convince us that they are doing extra cleaning with COVID. They also put the blue tape on the door to show no has been in there BUT we found food on the floor and urine on the toilet. We were prepared with commercial 9 x 11 sanitizing wipes and cleaned everything. I would have felt uncomfortable going down to complain - like the sending food back in the kitchen though - when you saw the light reflection on the refrigerator and microwave, you could tell it was not clean. Because of this, I was very uncomfortable and did not sleep. All I kept thinking was were the sheets clean/changed and did we have new clean towels. The hotel seemed a little older than the others we have stayed in but the main thing was we did not feel it was clean. I don't think the housekeeper here is doing their job. Enjoyed my recent visit and found the facility to be safe, convenient, and very clean. The staff was friendly and professional from check in to check out. I would give a 5 star great rating had the sheets and mattress cover been higher quality. The fitted sheet's and mattress cover's elastic was stretched and would not stay tucked. This hotel is your average Hampton Inn. I've stayed in a lot of Hampton Inn hotels in smaller towns with mixed results. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful on restaurant recommendations. The room was clean and stocked full of towels. The pool was large enough to accommodate a few larger crowds and towels were provided by he pool. Breakfast of hot and fresh, with the awesome staff. The negatives were the thermostat in the room didn't work properly. We set it to 68 and the room was still fairly hot. The bathroom wasn't the cleanest. You could tell housekeeping rushed when cleaning the room especially the toilet area. Whether you are travel alone on business or with a family for vacation this hotel will meet all your needs for a decent night sleep. read more

This is a nice hotel. This was my first time staying in this chain and I'm very pleased. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because they are a little pricey. They had a lot of good reviews and I am happy to add mine. The service was quick and the lady working the front desk was very nice and hospitable. They also give you a bottle of water when you check in (the little things) and offer a free hot breakfast. The room was nice and clean and the bed and linen were comfy. I also liked the fact that they have a night light in the bathroom which is awesome to me. That way in the middle of the night you don't have to use the super bright light and wake everybody up including yourself. They also offer complimentary toiletries if you forget yours. They're customer service is really spot on. I will definitely stay at this chain in the future. read more

Sometimes the hotel offers dinner and drinks, and the breakfast has a good selection. The lobby is open and well maintained and the hotel is convenient to restaurants and grocery stores. This is the most poorly Run Hotel I've ever stayed in I got in the room and there was dirt all over the comforter the walls the toilet actually had feces all over the rim of the bowl the place was just a disaster in terms of Maintenance I would never stay here again really brings down the Hilton name brand ask for my points back and it took them 3 weeks and a half a dozen calls to get my points back calling up the customer service number several times call the general manager several times asked her to do what she said she did and she never did at lied to me about that dont recommend staying at this hotel read more

This Hampton Inn is generally as good as any I've stayed in. I've been in about 100. The low Mark is because the mattress I slept on was old and worn out. I could feel the coils and that made for a long night. Other than that, the place was clean and the staff is friendly. read more

My most disappointing stay at a Hilton property. The carpet in our room was sticky and so filthy that my wife's and my socks, and our son's feet, were black with grime. I never stayed in any hotel room, let alone at a Hilton property, that had such a disgusting carpet. There were stains on the couch and some other imperfections in the room that I could overlook, but the apparent lack of cleaning was especially concerning with COVID. September 6 was our (two adults) third stay here in the last year. Each time we have been impressed with the courteous, friendly, and professional staff. The morning breakfast is great and the "brown bag snacks" to take along are generous and thoughtful. The kitchen staff works hard to make one feel at home and never leave hungry. This visit we were also treated to dinner at 5:30 which was wood-fired pizza, salad, beer, and wine! It was wonderful after a long day in the car. Only four stars because our room's (229?) bathroom was not in its usual 5-star immaculate condition, and the room did not smell fresh. But the linens were clean and the bed was comfy. We saw a handful of dead ones by the AC near the window our first night, and over time they continued to appear on the floor and ceiling. Always expect a lot of the Hilton properties we stay at. We did, however, have a bit of lowered expectations because we were going to stay in Rocky Mount, NC. I mean, what could possibly be good in Rocky Mount? I have to say I was wrong. There is nothing fancy about this place, but the reception at the desk was very friendly, fast, and helpful. The room was clean and neat. It has a fridge, microwave, HD tv, all-in-all, very nice. My wife has certain things she likes in her room to make her more comfortable: a fan for air movement and extra pillows because she is a "cuddle monster". They were Johnny-on-the-spot and had both. I'd say that we are very pleased with location and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably-priced hotel with good service and friendly people. And by the way, Rocky Mount turned out to full of great, wonderful people. This trip was truly an eye opener; don't prejudge! read more

I always seek out Hamptons when on the road, because they have laptop boards, free breakfasts, and usually the most helpful staff. Because I spent 3 weeks of every month on the road, it was important to me to be around helpful staff. The hotel was my home more than my actual home was. This Hampton blew my mind. The staff were all exceptional in their hospitality - greeting you with a smile, assisting you with your needs, and going above and beyond to create an inviting, community feel. Glenda made us meals Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Homecooked, y'all. We had meatloaf with mashed potatoes one night. We had stuffed peppers with brocolli cheddar soup. And her homemade peach cobbler.....out of this world. These meals were complimentary, but more than "free hot dinner", it actually created fellowship and community. Who wants to eat in a hotel? Not me, ever. But I looked forward to dinner each night, and the other guests that became my little family while I was there. Glenda had a way of making us all feel like we were her guests in her home, and I've never experienced that in a hotel. Truly. Never. Emanuel at the desk and Cheryl during breakfast were also a friendly constant throughout the week. In my experience, people are not always consistently friends and helpful at a hotel. They're there to do their job and go home (I won't say all, but I will say that's the "norm" that I see). I will sincerely miss the folks I grew to know in my 5 days at this Hampton Inn, and look forward to hopefully getting to see them all again in the future! read more

The area seemed safe. The staff was excellent, always very nice. Excellent service. I gave them 4 stars, but I would say it deserved more like 3 1/2 stars. Only because there was NO WATER PRESSURE in my room at all. It took me 3 times as long to shower and wash my hair. The faucet in the sink also had no water pressure. I let the staff at the front desk know in the morning and they said they would check it. So I would stay here again, but I would ask to see the room and check the water pressure in the room FIRST.
