There are several rooms. Our server was just lovely so nice. We ordered breakfast, and everything was quite good. The coffee was so good, and I love the little pieces of soft cheese that came with breakfast. The apple cake was also delicious. This is a great spot, and I wish we had a hard time to go back for lunch or dinner. If you are coming to prague, this might be a place you want to put on your list. If nothing else you can say you ate where the intellectuals ate, and you can feel a little smarter.

The interior is beautiful and has a lot of historic charm, which really adds to the experience. Service was also excellent--everyone was professional, attentive, and welcoming. Unfortunately, the food was a bit of a letdown. I ordered the slow-braised beef shank, but the meat was surprisingly tough and didn't have that fall-apart tenderness I was hoping for. We also tried the braised beef with the creamy sauce, and unfortunately, the beef had the same issue. I really wanted to love the food given the beautiful setting and all the recommendations, but unfortunately, it just didn't quite live up to the expectations.

My mom and I ordered bottled sparkling water and were surprised when it was served warm (not just room temperature but actually warm). When we asked if we could get cold water instead, we were told that they didn't have any cold water available due to the heat. This wasn't mentioned when we ordered. We were offered a small cup of ice, but there wasn't nearly enough to cool the whole bottle. The waiter didn't apologize and came across as quite rude and annoyed with us. She also never offered more ice, even though it was clear the amount we got wasn't enough. I understand that things happen, but a simple apology and a better attitude would have gone a long way. It's a shame because the food was good, but the service made the visit much less enjoyable.

We had just tap water and I ordered the scrambled eggs with a hot dog bun and salad. The lovely K had the Turkish eggs and toast with lovely fresh dill on top. Both were excellent and a fair sized portion. The poached eggs and the scrambled eggs were spot on. My salad was also excellent with a dressing I'd like to replicate at home. The service was prompt, and friendly, and the food came out quick in spite of how busy they were. I can't say much about the ambiance as we were outside, but the chairs were comfortable and blankets were also available if you felt the need to bundle up. We would most certainly return!

My omlette was very good, with goat cheese and spinach, and my wife liked her eggs which were sunny side up over some vegetables and a avocado purée. The fresh bread was really good, some sort of wheat rye bread that was dense and filing. The menu for lunch and dinner also looked great, and our server was very friendly. She asked where we were from, and got really excited that my wife grew up in San Francisco. She said that she was a big Jack London fan, and wanted to see where he was from. I hope she gets to go one day!

That said, we had a gorgeous yet really disappointing pancake order here that just wasn't acceptable at all. The pancakes were thick, premade and tasted more like crumpets topped with fruit than pancakes, but what was inexcusable was that the pancakes themselves came out cold and hard. How does that even happen? On the other side of things, the expresso drinks were adequate, the egg dishes were enjoyable, the orange juice was fresh squeezed and the brown bread and butter that comes out (complementary) with breakfast is wonderful. If you do opt to come here, head to egg dishes, their bread and expresso, and away from their not good pancakes.) (Wish they would discontinue or replace the pancakes here. These hard, heavy, cold pancakes bring their morning meal average down a level, considering the other dishes here are a-okay.)

Located in Old Town Prague, this place was highly recommended by many. They do not take reservations, so seating is first come, first serve. There are two ways to dine at this place. The first is that you make it to their hot food station where food is already cooked. You then pick the meat and side dishes you want and then they will charge you based on the weight of the food. The second is that you go to their butcher station (located at the entrance of the restaurant), pick a piece of their cut (steak or pork), and they will cook it right there for you along with the side dishes you picked. Beer can be ordered on the inside too as they have a brewery station. You eat first and then you pay before you leave. I opted for the second option and got a piece of bone-in steak. My two side dishes were grilled potatoes and vegetables. The steak was delicious, potato was cooked very well, vegetables were a little bit oily but overall acceptable. I think the quality of their steak was great, but I also wouldn't say it was the best steak I've had. Prague food in general is cheap, but this whole meal was about $60 for me, so pretty pricy by Prague standard. Of note, they do have unlimited bread, but there is no butter, so another small let down for me. Service was kinda non-existent. Other than the server coming over to deliver my food, I've never seen him ever again. I managed to hunt him down for a piece of napkin, but that took more effort than me trying to stuff down my last piece of the steak. Overall I would come here again. The steak is good, but not amazing. The price by Prague-standard is high, but by US-standard is normal.

The other thing I LOVE is that bread is unlimited and free! Such a stupid little perk but considering a lot of the dishes (pates, etc) lend themselves to bread it's nice to not have to order it separately. Service was brusque but I'm finding that to be the norm in Czechia. They also spoke to me in Czech, although they did understand me when I spoke in English. Not a problem, I'm a visitor in their country and I would never expect someone to cater to me. Place is exceptionally clean and the bathrooms are nice. Given that it's not table service and they don't take reservations it was a little hectic finding somewhere to eat. I ended up standing which was no problem. I had the duck pate and the steak tartare. Both were honestly just okay. I haven't had duck pate before so I can't speak to how it stacks up, but I have had a LOT of tartare and I was just unimpressed with it. It was a massive portion though - could have done with half. The bread it was served with was toasted well and tasty. Wouldn't go back, but it was fun for a stop. Their branding is also super cute if you have a checked bag and need a souvenir.

It is a great way to sample and not over commit to something you might not like. The goulash was good but very small portion. But it was just okay, as an American I like my beef medium and tender. This beef was more well done and dry, but the creamy rose sauce was wonderful and did a pretty good job of masking the beef averageness. The potato croquettes crispy and airy, unique! 260K/$11 4 Beer sampler. This seemed like a good idea at first, but for Czech prices this was actually bit pricy. The beers seemed to be about a 200ml pour each. Being from San Diego, California where we have the best beer in the world, I found each of the four beers just kind average. It's much cheaper just to buy individual beers. Good place, not a great place. Come by if its convenient at the moment, like it was for me.
