I've tried so many other places like soccer, volleyball and even tried basketball, but they all didn't help, he just not want to participate. This August, I saw an ad that PBA organized a basketball event and I am the first one registered, I was gonna try at least one more time and see if it helps my son. And whats so good is, it beyond my expectation, my son told me, he loves playing here, i was shocked, asked him why, he said there is a PBA staff, which is a young lady, who hand in hand to get him to the court and show him something fun, and slowly bring him to the group where he can meet and play with other kids. Great water polo club! My son joined about a year and a half ago. I wasn't familiar with the sport…read moreprior to this but his friend was a member so he wanted to try it too. Since then, I've become a fan of the sport and this club in particular. The club has teams for different age groups and different skill levels, from young beginning swimmers (5-10) who they teach how to swim properly and turn them into strong swimmers, to competitive age bracketed water polo travel teams (8-15) who compete with teams around California and the country. Players get a lot of instruction time! They work out practice four nights a week! Its like a combined gym membership and water polo instruction. The amount of exercise he became capable of doing was a radical transformation. He is now in the best shape of his life as a result and it has not only helped him physically but the discipline they teach has carried over into other aspects of his life as well. The club has excellent experienced coaches and a low coach/athlete ratio. The kids are taught to push themselves, do their best, and to play ethically. In addition to the physical conditioning which is a big part of the sport, the kids are taught the skills to play the sport and you see huge differences in the kids who come in as novices and apply themselves for a year. The thing I liked most about this club is that the coaches are tough but really seem to care about the kids and helping them get better. They expect a lot from the kids but really help them develop mental and physical strength. From what I can tell, their fees are below many other comparable clubs and they either offer the same, or more services. They are part of the California Coastal League and play teams from as far away as Bakersfield and Oxnard to Riverside during the regular season and from all over California in postseason. My son's team was able to finish in the top 5 teams in the USA at the Junior Olympics in 2015 and this was largely due to the great coaching and development they had through the year. Depending on the specific team, they hold their practices at pool facilities around the Mid San Gabriel Valley area (Temple City, Rosemead, Arcadia, El Monte, etc) Experienced or a beginner, this is a good place to grow and learn. I've had such a great experience here I've signed my five year old's up in their Splashball/Swim School program to improve their swimming skills with the aim of having them be able to play water polo competitively when they are a couple of years older. Starting early makes big difference.
