My kid is 7 years old and a beginner? Do you have any group trainings for beginner kids? Preferably smaller group

For beginners, they can join separate semi-private training sessions in addition to the regular weekly team practice. For info regarding semi-private sessions, you can email the organizers for further details.

After spending several years in club volleyball across multiple clubs in the San Gabriel Valley,,…read moreour family can honestly say that Stormbreaker has been the best overall club experience we've had. What makes Stormbreaker different is that it was specifically created to solve frustrations that parents and players commonly experience in club volleyball. One of the biggest issues in club volleyball is roster size. Many clubs carry 12-14 players, meaning some girls spend large portions of tournaments on the bench, players worry about being substituted out after mistakes, and teammates feel like competitors fighting for the same playing time. Stormbreaker intentionally keeps rosters smaller, typically around 9-10 players. The girls are not only on the court more often, but they have a defined role and purpose. They are part of every match and rotation rather than wondering if they will see the floor. That consistency allows players to develop confidence through real game experience instead of constantly worrying about being replaced. Another major difference is training volume. Most clubs provide two practices per week. Stormbreaker provides three, plus additional opportunities for clinics, scrimmages, and position-specific development. More touches, more repetitions, and more feedback lead to more growth. Practices are also structured differently. Stormbreaker often has multiple teams training simultaneously with four or more coaches actively involved. Athletes are divided into position groups. Setters with setting coaches, hitters with hitting coaches, liberos on defense and serve receive, middles on middle-specific skills. The specialized instruction and repetition the girls receive is dramatically higher than what we experienced elsewhere. Stormbreaker also has something most clubs don't offer: a dedicated strength and athletic development area called The Vault. The girls participate in structured conditioning sessions focused on athleticism, explosiveness, core strength, injury prevention, and volleyball-specific performance. We've personally watched players become stronger, jump higher, and gain confidence over a single season. We also appreciated that development was built into the club experience rather than requiring constant outside lessons. Between three practices, specialized coaching, strength training, clinics, and additional opportunities for extra reps, our daughter received far more development within the program itself than we experienced elsewhere. Stormbreaker is also not built around a single coach. Jonathan, the club director, is deeply involved and genuinely cares about players and families. He has invested tremendous time studying collegiate, Olympic, and high-level volleyball development systems so coaches work from a shared philosophy. Unlike many clubs where your experience depends almost entirely on one coach, Stormbreaker has worked to build a consistent developmental system. The goal is that players continue progressing regardless of which coach they have because the training philosophy, skill development priorities, and expectations are shared across the club. What impressed me most, however, is the culture. The emphasis is not only on volleyball skills but on character, confidence, resilience, leadership, and personal growth. The club's mission and core values show up in how coaches interact with players, how families support one another, and how girls are encouraged to grow as athletes and young people. Our own team faced plenty of challenges. We had players learning new positions, several first-year club athletes, and periods of instability that could have derailed development. Instead, we watched the girls improve dramatically. They became more skilled, more confident, more competitive, and more resilient. Our daughter gained meaningful court time, developed confidence, and grew more in a single season than we expected. More importantly, she genuinely looked forward to practices and finished the season loving the game even more than when she started. We've spoken with many families from other Stormbreaker teams, and our experience is not unique. Parents consistently share that their daughters improved more in one season than in previous years elsewhere. No club is perfect, and Stormbreaker is still growing. But it was intentionally built to address problems many families have simply accepted as normal in club volleyball. They created an environment where athletes can develop, compete, build confidence, and genuinely enjoy the game. For our family, the difference has been significant, and we are grateful for everything our daughter gained this season both on and off the court.

The coaches do a wonderful job of balancing age appropriate drills and feedback. I didn't realize how much my child had grown in his basketball development until I saw his moves and collaboration with his teammates. Couldn't be happier with the staff and the coaching they provide.

My son had been going to Tuesday night sessions for almost two years…read more Last year Young Kings merged with Precision basketball and the fees went up, community and camraderie went down. I recently asked for a pause on my membership and they would only refund 50% of the month even though the month sessions hadn't started yet. Their website has two conflicting statements about refunds and they chose to honor the one in their favor instead of their client. So instead of just saying "hey no problem sorry our website had the wrong info here's your refund" they instead refused and would only refund 50%. They felt that $70 was more important then keeping a monthly customer paying $140. I went ahead and cancelled and will not be returning, the fees are really high and the customer service is terrible. There's plenty of places to ball in Pasadena besides young kings. Editing my review to answer Yaroslav - While I appreciate your answer you neglected to acknowledge the fact that you have two contradictory policies in place on your website - One that says you get a full refund within seven days and one that doesn't. So again, instead of giving a long standing client the benefit of the doubt you chose to err in your own favor just to keep my $70 over acknowledging the error on your website. It says a lot about how you treat your business. And as far as all of your nice words concerning the Tuesday night sessions the truth is there very little structure and minimal moderation to these sessions.

If you care about your child's physical and emotional well-being, stay far away from this school…read more On July 25, 2025, I brought my 4-year-old daughter to her 4:00 PM gymnastics class. We arrived at 3:59 PM and, as directed by the front desk, walked through the ballet room to get there. The ballet class was already past its scheduled end time, so we waited until the students finished before passing through. Halfway across the room, the ballet teacher suddenly began yelling at us aggressively. My daughter was terrified. I calmly asked her to lower her voice, but she continued screaming--following us into the gymnastics room in front of dozens of children. I have a heart condition and began feeling unwell from the stress, yet she would not stop. No staff intervened. I assumed the school would handle it properly, but I was wrong. Later, the owner defended the teacher, accused me of being a "criminal," and took zero responsibility. The real victims were my daughter and the many children who witnessed this unprovoked outburst. Parents should be aware of three serious concerns: 1. Poor safety - No security, unattended front desk, and children can easily wander outside to the street. I personally saw a 6-year-old disappear for 20 minutes. 2. Emotionally unstable ballet teacher - Multiple online reviews mention her history of yelling at kids when parents aren't present. 3. Unprofessional management - Canceled classes without notice, no accountability, and intimidation tactics from the owner, Serge. I regret not calling the police that day. If I had, maybe fewer children would be subjected to this behavior. Parents, please protect your children. A school should be a safe, nurturing place--not one where kids are traumatized and parents are threatened. I've attached a video showing my daughter's reaction after being traumatized by the teacher--no child should ever go through this.
