It was because I saw a really nice wall of Stanley products. And then a beautiful shelf of really great candles including one called Beach fire. Wondering this through the store I also saw a couple of pieces I really liked. One was a mustard slingback made in London by the company Ori for $80. I wasn't ready to throw down so I'm keeping it in mind for next time. I also was drawn to a beautiful pale pink top -- kind of sheer and flowy... I got my eye on it. And that's what happens. It stays in your imagination and the next thing you know you're walking back into the store. Hopefully it'll still be there when I come back meanwhile but I am certain of is the excellent Customer Service and the great conversations and even the BTS music that was playing (Swim!) that kept me wanting to stay in the store. Sometimes you think you've been in one store you've been in them all... But when the Customer Service is actually attentive and thoughtful and the products are so worthy, it's kind of nice to have a new favorite ON THE MAIN STRIP OF (CANNON BEACH).

My friend is a customer there. This was the opposite at this store. After being passed off to the manager by a sales associate, she asked us if "we were there to buy shoes". Is this store a front for something else? What did she think we were in there for? I felt like we had to apologize for walking into the store. We were made to feel as if we were bothering them. Perhaps the employees could be taught to act happy or glad that we walked in. Perhaps they could engage in friendly conversation with customers. Suggest something! This could and should start with the manager. Who knows, with a little different attitude by these store employees, we might have bought something in this store. I do not recommend this shoe store in Astoria.

The store was a bit of a drive, nothing too far, but they even offered to pick them up and bring them into the Cannon Beach store when they came into work the next day. I recently visited Tonquin Trading while on a vacation to the Oregon coast. My husband had left…read morehis hiking boots at home, and since our trip involved a lot of hiking...we were sort of screwed. To make matters worse? He wears a size 16. Not exactly the easiest size to find in a pinch. Tonquin didn't have size 16 either-- but the super, super helpful guy working there understood our dilemma, and gave us a recommendation of where we COULD find a size 16, in exactly the type/brand of shoe we were looking for. He saved us from driving around all day to every Famous Footwear trying to find something that might work. So. Although I didn't end up buying anything at Tonquin, I was really impressed (and grateful!) by their "can't-get-it-at-Macy's-get-it-at-Gimbels" attitude, which saved our vacation. If I go back (and I loved the area...I'm already planning my next trip), I'd totally patronize Tonquin with my outdoorsy needs!

Brad the assistant manager who helped us today was extremely helpful. Ordering the size my wife needed. Free shipping directly to us! So she was able to try on a different color and order what she wanted knowing they would fit. They were on sale plus we had a coupon so we got a pretty good deal to boot.

Not that famous…read more.. Got okay brands, but the shoes are not that great. They don't have the newest styles and the prices are not that much of a steal.
